When I moved here in '86; the son and I were fishing up maze creek and seen a big & long fish surface three times. He was trying to feed on smaller fish. By the time we got close to where he was he was gone. We talked to a game warden, that was at the marina and he said they (fish&game) had stocked some muskie about 15 years before but, they seem to have all died.. He all so said that "one or two could still be in the lake some where". That was 32 years ago and I have not seen or heard of one since. So, if any one tells you that there never was any muskie in Stockton; tell them to find an "OLD" warden and get the real story..

I too have older lowrance units w/o chirp.. on my main unit I can change the top/bottom settings to magnify a 10 foot area.. But if you are not anchored "six ways from Sunday" ; the area will be constant changing.. I seen a side/down scan unit demo, in the state park marina area, and you could see all the junk left on the bottom from rebuilding the docks.. Plus, the guy running the unit pointed to spot and said it was a cat fish laying on the bottom... Even with my bi-focals-- these 70+ eyes couldn't see it.. Sorry for the ramble but, Graphs are like tvs/computers/phones/etc.. Every six months they come out with a better one..

I have thrown jerk baits for over 50 years.. At one time I had 20+ jerk baits in the boat.. But, for the last 10 years I carry/throw two-- Bone in clear water and Clown in stained water.. I'm not saying that on any givin day that a different color wouldn't out fish me but, it is rare ... If money is tight; go with these two first...

Have you been to Academy sports lately? They figured out long ago that "clothes" make the money and "sports" draw the crowd ... Dad goes in to buy a $ 2.95 lure and the kids spend $189.85 on "sports" clothes...

DO you have access to a "OHM" meter or to someone with an OHM meter ??? With the battery disconnected; you can check which wires go to where...

I always have Kitty Litter or a broken "Sand Log" in the truck, during the winter..

This is from "hot spots" maps... bass pro and others have these and they will have "most" of the data you are looking for....

If you are "setting" the hook up DON"T... the circles are designed to pull in to the corner of the mouth as the fish pulls against the tension on the line as they swim away... I had the same trouble, at first, but I went to the next larger size hook and quit "setting" the hook and 80% of the time, I got the fish to the boat....
