    A buddy and was trying to figure out what Pomme de Terre means. We figure it is French for something but now sure what it means. Does anyone know?

    Tom, That sounds like a pretty solid day. Did you fish topwater at all?

    I am putting a Shimano Symmetre reel on the rod. I am a big fan of Symmetre spinning reels. What I was trying to do was compare the Compre to the Falcon Lowrider (Shakey Head Model). Would love to hear input from others that have experience with the rods.

    Troy, Thanks for your input that helps a lot. The only 2 ways I have found to find out how good a rod is to get others opinion or test it out myself. I cant tell much about a rod in the store. Hoglaw, I was looking for rod that can throw something that has the flexiblity to throw something like a wiggle wart a mile but not wear me out on the retreive. If it will do accomplish that I figure is should work with a shakey head application.

    I am looking to purchase a spinning rod that can throw a small crankbait and also throw a shakey head. I was considering the Shimano 6'6" Compre (Med). I know you guys have opinions and I am ready hear them.

    I have small pair of scissors that I carry to cut braided line. You have to put the line deep in the jaws of the scissors and make a quick cut. If it frays a little moisten the end and it will not affect your knot.

    Techno, That is beauty. How long was the walleye?

    That is a surprise about Supreme. I know they were a relatively new company but had hoped they would survive. I know Ranger is limping along. Taxidermist do you know how many boats they are manufacturing in a week now?

    I pulled the boat down to Bull Shoals this past weekend to visit family and did a little morning fishing Sunday/Monday. I caught 3 Walleye and 4 bass and a few short bass. The biggest thrill for me was being able to take my dad out and put him on some fish. I did not realize Bull Shoals had so many good Walleye. I was fishing around the dam with topwater and spinnerbaits.

    Wow, that is 90 minutes you wont soon forget. Great job.

    I went up past Bridgeport a couple of weeks ago and fished a few hours for crappie. I only caught 2. Suprisingly they were both keepers.

    Don, What color Bonnie having you been throwing? FYI the jig rod feels great but anxious for the season to heat up so I can get more use out of it.

    I fished up the river from Bridgeport for a couple of hours on Saturday and only caught 2 crappie. Caught them both on swimming minnows.

    Techo, That is great that you took your neighbor out on TR. Even if it was not your best day fishing, I am sure that boy took things from that day that we overlook all the time.

    The forecast is for snow and rain. How crazy is that? I guess only in MO.

    I am planning on going out this Saturday on the James river arm but little concerned about the drastic change in temp. How do you guys think it will affect the fishing?

    Bill, I am not sure who or what has you fired up, but I can tell you from my perspective that you have helped me tremendously in learning how to catch bass on TR. I frequently take people to the lake that dont have the opportunity, for various reason, to view God's creation from the water. Since I can normally only fish on Saturday, I am limited to how much time I have to experiment. Your information has eliminated a lot of that time and allowed me to go the lake with confidence that I can put those people on fish. So thank you for your accurate information.

    So with min flow, will the water level on the White river stay at a constant level and no longer have the big flucuations in water levels?

    For the money I think the Shimano Citica is a good reel. I have 2 of them and they work great. They redesigned it a little this year. I have not used the new design but I would assume it is still a good reel.

    I am disappointed that I was not able to attend the seminar. Sounds like Bill did a great job. I am sure that was an opportunity lost for me. Thanks to Bill and PHil for the forum and all the tips. I consider myself new to bass fishing and all of the guys on this forum have helped me a lot.

    That sounds like a good day. I am thinking about launching out of there on Saturday. Did you go toward Flat creek or run down the lake?
