  1. FOLLOW UP- techo thanks for your generosity with your h2oc unit. but it will not lock on to a satellite either. i am begining to believe none will. if anyone has a h2o unit please try to lock on a satellite so it will show your present position. if you can or cannot please let me know. unless proven wrong i think we are all screwed!
  2. if anyone has a H2Oc color unit they are not using for a very resonable price please let me know. i have a lonely chip to put in it. thanks. i have a gentleman that has offered a b/w unit but would prefer a color.
  3. took the H2Oc unit to marine repair center as suggested by mr babler. the results are as follows. the unit i have is only 3 years old. they no longer make them, or parts for repair. if you own one now and something goes wrong with it your just crap out of luck. just as i researced before posting its true. no help is available. some of my friends told me not to buy a lowrance product before i purchased it. it lasted 3 years so maybe $100 a year is a good lesson. am i upset you bet! mr babler i have nothing but total respect for you and i realize you have nothing to do with this problem, but when a company sells a product and doesnt service it, they are totally out of line! thank you for trying to help, thats more than lowrance has done. if you have another suggestion or can help with lowrance i would appreciate it.
  4. thanks techo but i have already tried the reset you sent me to. worked fine for about 3 years. things like this drive me nuts. you are also correct in that it is a handheld unit. i use mine with the plugin. really good when running at night. i dont want to try the hard reset because it destroys waypoints. we have a lot of boat positions marked on the unit.
  5. thanks bill i appreciate your help
  6. i have a lowrance H2Oc gps unit. it will no longer pick up satellites. why? i can get no response from lowrance. i am finding out this is not unusual. can anyone help me with this problem? thanks in advance! i have already tried the reset as lowrance suggests. no change
  7. i have known a few people like you. dont wear life jackets. some have drowned. life jackets wont do you a darn bit of good unless you wear them. go ahead and not wear them ill read about you someday.
  8. i just want to say thanks like everyone else. you go beyond the obvious in your reports. you're attention to detail is appreciated. thank you for your time, its certainly beyond the "call of duty".
  9. use the wiggle warts! buy a few in phantom green crawfish(regular size not mag warts) find you a bank this time of year with pea size gravel or small chunk rock with a shallow slope(45 degree or less) throw the warts close to the shoreline and use a stop go retrieve. you will catch fish. the bank is a lot better if you are at the mouth of a shallow cove. fish the banks back into these coves. they are there. forget the other stuff for awhile. they are harder to fish. if you use the grubs same type of bank, steady retrieve. good luck
  10. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! releasing it brings my response. a picture and the memory is what its all about. second that nightime comment!
  11. found some snot 2 diff places yesyerday. fished 3 other locations with none. gonna be bad like last year. hope not but bet thats true. last year was a nightmare as you all know. too many sewers leaking into rock. to many nutrients.
  12. my son and i fished out of baxter sunday. caught 11 small & i repeat small bass. worst day weve had this spring(?) 6 lm, 3 ky, 2 sm. fished spinnerbaits, craws, jigs. nothing. went back to wart caught the above mentioned. caught 2 sm in clear colder water. rest in stained. fished from 8:00 to 3:30. hope everyone did better than us.
  13. a friend of mine said he caught 45 whites & 30 crappie ysterday(march 18) out of bridgeport on jigs. hes usually pretty honest. had his 3 girls with him. they caught their share he said.
  14. baxter area water temp ranged from 49.8-52. if you can find chunk rocks 5 ft or less slow drop(not quick drop)they are there. have been for about 2 weeks now. be patient. stop and go retrieve with wart. have caught 6 over 4 lbs up to 7.03 in past two weeks, 3 trips. good luck. when i post its all true not exaggerated or over estimated.
  15. caught 11 fish today. largest was 4.25 another at 3.65 two other keepers rest small. wiggle wart(8) 3 on sigle spin shallow. caught largest fish after wind switch to north. shallow point less than 5 ft deep. wind blowing straight onto point. fished from 9:30 to 5:00. long hours tired arm im to old for this
  16. creek arms, stained water, could not find them in backs of coves
  17. couple of other things i should have said. these fish are in areas that have rocks and timber both. put you're boat next to the bank and fish ahead of you're boat. move the bait medium retrieve. you will get hung but thats were the fish are...or were.
  18. fished twice last week caught a 7.03, a 5.26 a 4.76 and a 4.45 caught 11 fish one day 9 the second. caught them on a wiggle wart shallow. this has been a really good spring for me so far. you absolutely must find 48 degree water or better. wore my arm out in 45-46 degree water without a hit of any kind. these fish were digitally weighted as you can tell by weights..not guessed. they are still swimming in the rock! i never keep bass. good luck! when i say shallow i mean shallow 8 feet or less.
  19. i have mine on both sides of the motor. havent seen others?
