  1. Great info. Where do you get the lead nail weights?
  2. What does it taste like? Will it work with beer? LOL and Could you post where you got it?
  3. Let me know how it turns out. I think it is a travesity that all people want is the quick fix of the nicotine (which slightly elevates blooodpressure and heart beat) and the way you get it is smoking other stuff that gives you cancer or dipping snuff which makes you get mouth cancer. The nicotine isn't very dangerous. The gum makes me nauseous and really all it does is make cigarettes taste bad when you ultimatley light one.
  4. Are extended warranties offered on this equipment like every other electronic in the world at checkout? If so sounds like not a bad investment.
  5. has anyone tried vanish transitions? lots of time I can't see me line wondering if anyone has a review of it bc its 6 bucks higher than regular vanish
  6. This is like the ford vs chevy and coke vs pepsi . Everyone his their own experinces, preferences and taste. In addition those offering opinions here also have affiliations (sponserships) with some of the boat manufacturers, fishing eq., batteries and electronic eq. So It would be nice on this forum if those who have relationships would disclose this information when offer opinions. Anyway, I'm looking for one as well and I believe that both hummingbird and lowrance to be equal in quality (someone will take exception to this). The lowrance models can include lake maps for the entire US. The lake maps are avail with hummingbird but you buy them for the regions. Just be prepared to part with $800-$1000 for smaller screens and $1,200 to $1,500 for larger screen. OOUCH!
  7. The only bass I eat are white.
  8. Phil: How many will brave the 6 degree low and 27 degree high this saturday? Just curious. I'm young and I'm chilled to the bone just thinking about it. BRBF
  9. Gatorjet we underestimated our fellow ozark anglers. Thanks guys.
  10. If you were me and you were going to plan a full week off of work this spring to fish TR which month and if you feel confident which week would it be? We are also going to fish Bull Shoals as well. Instead of going way north this year our guy's trip is going to stay close to home. Thanks, BRBF
  11. Well then I will PM my findings to you
  12. Yes. Even with the smaller jigs.
  13. LOL. Guess even I can qualify for this tournament.
  14. I can throw one color on the White River every time I go there. Can't on taney. Sculpin, green, black and green, brown, ginger all good colors. Color of the jig head makes a difference too. Stay away from a jig head color differnet than the maribu. Many here catch a lot on white not me. In addition to color the weight is important as well. 1/8, 1/16 on down to 1/50 might be required depending on water flow. During lower flows the 1/8 is too big IMO. You want to make sure you are in constant contact with the bottom. If you are getting that some days the paint will come completly off your jig (they will still catch them too). You will also know when you lose a few jigs as well. The white river zig jigs are bar none the best jigs b/c of the shape of the heads. http://zigjig.net/ Never ever any line bigger than 4lb test. The last thing I can tell you is Taney is just on one day and can be off the next with no explaniation. I've caught 50 fish one day and lucky to get a limit the next. Hang in there. Hope you get a 50 fish day.
  15. The recent mentioning of bass fishing in the Rockaway area his me wanting to ask some questions of those of you who bass fish taneycomo. With water remaing somewhat the same temperature year round on Taney what is the seasonal pattern for bass on Taneycomo? What are they foraging for and what baits are productive during the seasons or if there are no real seasons what works year round? I have heard in the past about fishing in inlets and near the bank and I have seen 70-75 degree water temps by Rockaway. Would reall like to put some focus on the bass this year mixing in with trout fishing. Any assistance is appreciated and I'm not really looking for someone to give away their secrets but just need a frame to work with. THX BRBF
  16. Nice deer. Stupidst kill story I've ever heard. ZERO respect for kill or shall I say drowning, the ultimate cause of this deer's death.
  17. What are you looking for other than seclusion? Will you be wade fishing or bringing a boat? Do you need to rent a boat? Would seclusion elsewhere be more important than being on Taneycomo?
  18. I broke down and bought new waders after a cold day of duck huting. Mine were Cabelas and were 8 or 9 years old and had no problems I just felt cold in them all the time, especially in the feet. After reading several members suggestions to use breathable waders in lieu of neoprene I elected to get these ProLine Waders. The are light and I can see hanging on a nail being a problem but I think neoprene would have the same issue. They have 600 insulation in the boots which kept me toasty. I hunted sunday and it was 34-40 degrees so it wasn't really cold enough to see how warm they will be but I have asked my sister to make me some fleece wader pants for christmas.
  19. I liken this problem to cars on the road. We all know that we don't have wide enough roads in some parts of the state (I-44 & I-70). It is my contention that we have no idea how many additinal cars will hit the road in the future so therefore we will not have enough roads when we need them. The agent situation is very similar. We have a growing state population but the agent count remains the same?? I will agree that GENERALLY people follow rules or don't. But a lot of folks are OK with bending rules slightly when unsupervised. I disagree that punishment is a deterrent. Have an agent confiscate your guns, your game, your fish, have them come check your freezer in your house, pay a big fine and then tell me that doesn't discourge law breaking.
  20. I have been beating this drum for some time. Completely a shame more funds arent spent on enforcement.
  21. Bass Pro paying money to add obstructions to lose tackle on.
  22. Where is the paint coming from?
  23. I am heading to Indian Point to stay all night. I have never launched my boat on TR and I'm not sure how I should fish tonight and tomorrow a.m. in this area at this time of year. Any suggestions are appreciated. I have a pretty good selection of lures and baits. Thx BRBF
  24. They will eat baby turkeys, baby quail, anything they can chase down and slide down their gullet.
