  2. Still hitting the pills?? LOL luv old hank jr stuff. Grew up on that stuff. Water and a Gatorade, cold beer once I get off the water, all is good.
  3. I had the old hook in had this past week with a still frisky spot on the other end, single hook bait(c rig) hooked in the bottom lip. I was sliding my hand up for the grab it shook and stuck! Then shook again and ripped it out! Bled nicely and hurt like a mother for a while. Sucked to say the least
  4. Wife's choice, cleaning out the fridge. One is fine after that they taste like poooooo

  8. I would think the early am top water bite should be better, I never found any type of shad spawn anywhere. I would think late June would be a main lake fb jig time and a deep diving crankbait. Good luck and enjoy
  9. Love the rock this time of year, stayed at Lakeside people could not be nicer! Quick recap 28 got unpacked and launched the boat on the water around 3:30 never left the cove, best day for size had a 3.5 and a 4 lb largemouth all spawned out and my wife caught a 17 3/4" smallie on her first cast Plus a bunch of spots, most fish were headed out and relating in secondary points and docks on points We caught 25 fish the first day with 9 of those being keepers. My wife drug a split shot green pumpkin worm and I caught then on the following shaky head , wobble head, ned fish were 2-15 foot deep. May 29: best top water morning I have had fish around the cows and caught 20 or so on top mostly brown fish with a few largemouth and spots mixed in 7 keeps no thumpers just 15-17" fish. Spook and a fin did the damage only morning with a top water bite rain and wind came caught a few on a blade then started dragging the shakey head caught 10 or so more with a few more keepers broke 2 good fish off saw 1 it was a 4 lb class or better fish that ran me into a cedar May 30: big wind in the morning did not throw the blade till late(my bad), did most my damage on the wobble head on secondary and main lake stuff around point 7 to mill creek area maybe 20 fish on the day 5 keepers May 31:'wind and clouds in the am tried to feed them the blade did not work out for me caught 6 on it with 2 keeps looked for the bigguns in the cedars but didn't work out for me. Evening fished flat gravel main lake stuff and got right with the smallies for a bit with a c rig and a senko had 7 fish with 4 keeps June 1: 2 hours in the am same flat gravel main lake stuff. Tube, rig, spook, and shakey head had 10 fish 5 spots 5 smallies 4 keepers. 7-20' Great trip one slow day out of 4 I'll take it. Can't wait to come back. Hope it helps someone. Pics later

  13. Thunderhead is booked, lakeside allows pets anyone have experience with that resort. Does not have to be the hilton for my wife but we do enjoy a good view of the lake and nice grounds. Let me know any thoughts. I also saw hickory hollow up the kings but have zero experience up in that area. Thanks for any help
  14. Great fish camp for the boys, but my wife will not be impressed. Great folks stay there often.
  15. Anyone know of any on the rock besides thunderhead? Just looking for options near Kcity or the the knob? Thanks Bill
  16. No one catching any gills? look like we might have to dodge a rain drop or two. still looking forward to it have not been to the rock this year yet.

  18. I caught three off beds last weekend saw one good fish on a bed that i could not get fired up I am sure some are doing their thing. good luck

  22. The gills have been located just as you said Bill, flat points 18-22 ft across from the cows. Now if I can relocate the bass in the am all will be well. Tough morning for me, got a late start caugh a couple on top busting shad. Nada on the fb jig, caught some on deep docks w jiggin spoon first for me lots to learn on the rock in the summer

Still no big bull gills, but in the process of sifting thru aquarium sized ones had 2 bass over 5 eat a small gill I was reeling in. got one to the side of the boat ready to grab then she let go the other, the biggest say 6 lbs on for a couple quick tugs and a showing of herself then gone. In all my years fishing I have had it happen one time to have it happen two times In a day awesome!!!
  24. We're are the big gills? I just got back in staying at mill creek only catching aquarium sized ones
