But not anymore, there's a small percentage of people out there who are just sick freaks who need to be put down when they get too rabid... 33 shot on a college campus, in a church congregation, or a friggin middle school! Recently (out by bennett two years ago) two old folks who barely own a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of looked in their front yard and saw some punk kid rummaging through their dump.. Instead of grabbing up their weapon and confronting the intruder (sounds like some of you would scoff at the very idea in this instance) they went out to ask him what he was doing. He killed them both. For no goddam reason. Happens all the time, people are losing the frackin minds man... This is a sick frickin world and I will be dammed if I'll let some psychopath bludgeon me to death with a paddle on an Ozarks stream in the middle of no where just because I was too afraid of being teased about my manhood to bring along an equalizer. I suppose if everyone was the type to keep quiet when an idiot is repeatedly tossing cans in the river (or whatever) then no one would have to worry about self preservation.. But the first time you have some 250lb muscle head and his three friends decide that you need to "mind your own business" and then beat the hell out of you when you don't just cower down and apologize, you'll change your mind about CCW. Cause yes, my friend feared for his life, and yes if he or his wife had had access to effective self protection then that horrible TRUE story would have never happened that way.. But you keep convincing yourself that your paddle and your carefully choreographed Billy Jack moves are enough to save your butt.. lol
