I overheard the old boys at the coffeeshop sayin' they had a few of em out there.. You reckon their plannin on sellin' videos of me takin a spill of that there dam? I'll agree that it's nice to get a visual of the river before I head down... I'll also agree that I don't enjoy the idea of being surveiled without my knowledge.. Does anyone know if they have any signs stating that you are being recorded?

I dunno what the heck all the fuss is about! You all do realize your danged precious smallmouth bass isn't even a bass at all, right? It's a member of the perch family! (which means whoever wrote Erics signature is a big fat lying liar-head) I say if you're gonna protect the bronzebacks you gotta protect all perch too... See, that's what I like about this place.. I decide on a whim (and on short notice) to post in here that I'm hitting Crane the next day and I immediately get two PM's with some GREAT tips about the how to's, and one PM offering to alter their fishing plans for that day so that they can come "show me around"... Well, when I invite someone down to Bennett to "show them around", what I usually mean is "show them up".. lol, but not this guy! He was kind enough to meet me in crane and escort me around to all the holes as well as being scholarly enough to allow me first choice at every stop! I could come on here and brag about how I outfished him, but that isn't hard to do when the fish spook easily and I get first cast in every hole! (I'll allow this kind gentleman to introduce himselfas my pro Bono guide if he'd like.. His option.) I ended the day with 6 McClouds on my little Maribou.. Not just any maribou either, but one of a pack of 16th ounce black and white jigs that I bought from Lilley's Landing last month! Seems like the trick really was to sneak up on them, the water was gin clear and each hole contained 1 to 4 really pretty and very active trout. They hit hard, the fought hard, and they jumped often.. Definitely a blast to Wade, I suggest wading upstream and being VEWY QUIET! No pics this time, but I am considering making a pilgrimage there again soon, and this time I will be camera equipped..

Thank you very much for the information, DD.. I ended up taking the ultralight and the waders, but I left the wife in the car.. lol I am proud to say that I only used one lure the whole day and had a very good first day on the crane.. I'll type up a report shortly..

"Wanna try Crane Creek tomorrow?" (you were thinking something different, weren't you? lol) never have been to crane but have harped at the wife about it enough that she decided tomorrow should be a good day.. What can I expect? Should I even bother to bring the waders? Which access should I go to? Any pointers you can offer for tomorrow in particular? Any adjacent areas or creeks that I should also consider? Thanks in advance for the advice, am looking forward to trying this area on for size...

Which flies and lures will be working the best, Brian? Is the water up at all? All my waters here at home were still a lil blown out as of yesterday...

I have to work that day... So I'll be down there (casting over your line, jogging in between the hard core fly guys, and generally creating a scene with my jibbery style orneriness) on Wednesday of that week. Consider this your fair warning.. lol

Yeah, I terrorized the public access area with a buddy yesterday with similar results.. The water was up and running fast, but was amazingly clear... Even got one to hit on a topwater fly, but most were fooled by the maribous or the green strike king bitsy minnows.. My buddy did stick a real nice smallie in one of Wrench's favorite lunker spots..

Thanks for posting that, I was curious as to which brand you have.. They sell that same kit you linked for twice as much at the battlefield mall "smoke everywhere" kiosk... Looks like the main difference is the availability of flavors.. Believe it or not, the flavors actually do taste like their descriptions.. So far I like peach, butterscotch and banana fosters flavors the best.. (www.tastyvapor.us) my update: 14 days and counting, I am almost to the point where I have saved as much (on analogs) as ihave spent (on digital).. The added benefits? (as noted by third parties): 1. Noticably fresher breath immediately 2. Ashtrays are GONE! 3. Haven't burned a hole in ANYTHING all week! Not even my wallet! 4. Got a call the other day that lead to a sale, wouldn't have gotten the call if I had been out on my usual SMOKE BREAK! (This benefit never occurred to me before.. Duh!) 5. The whitening toothpaste appears to actually be whitening my teeth, rather than just keeping them at that sickening level of tarred-ness that they were before.. After my teeth cleaning next week it should be all down hill for that part.. Looking forward to blinding people with my big toothy grin again... 6. Sat through a 3 hour movie at the theater.. Been a while since I managed that! lol 7. I have smelled odors in the past week that I had COMPLETELY Forgotten about over the past 15 years.. Sense of taste is coming back too.. 8. I can't tell you how nice it is to be able to take a big breath without wheezing.. Well, actually I CAN tell you, now that I can breath.. Odd how much my lung function has improved over just the past two weeks! This is not a placebo effect, folks.. This drastic health improvement is a common occurence (from what I can gather) among those who have recently quit smoking.. Switching to vaping is no different... So far, anyway.. I will say that watching all this unfold in the courtroom perspective has been enlightening.. It has proven to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Feds are not at all interested in the well being of the populace.. Unless displaying that concern will significantly increase the funds in their coffers..

Thanks for sharing the story CW, it's inspiring.. I will indeed keep you updated, it's 8 days now and I still have those seven cigarettes I had leftover when I recieved my kit in the mail.. I've been trying to decide on how to best lay them to rest, just doesn't seem right to BURN them.. lol (I put "loads" in each one on the second or third day to help me avoid the temptation) it's been an experience, and of course I am quite convinced at this point that willpower has a decent amount to do with quiting.. And if that doesn't work then fooling yourself with some weird gadget is the next best thing.. Tehe

Well I'm still doing okay after a whole week.. I have urges (like when I'm stressed, etc) but they've been easily overcome with the use of the e-cig and (of course) an amount of willpower.. Good luck, BRBF...

Interesting story, Al.. (I'm told you have a few.. ) Even more interesting is the fact that the same things that drove you away from smoking in the first place (house full of smokers growing up, etc) is one of the same things that seemed to drive me to smoking.. It came naturally because I grew up around it.. Anyway, 4+ days now and these 24mg "doses" are just too intense now.. I am only a day or two away from getting in the lower dosage (8 mg) via USPS.. Then it should be smooth sailing for a few weeks, then down to the 4mg or 0mg.. Then it seems like it should be simple to walk away, having weened myself off of the nicotine gradually.. But I might still enjoy the vaporizors (sans nicotine). Is it still considered a vice if it isn't unhealthy?
