On The Fly 6

So tomorrow I've decided to make my way to the buffalo for the first time. I'm looking to spend most of my time fly fishing for smallmouth. Any suggestions for put in or take out spots? I'll probably have one of the nearby canoe rental places drop me off somewhere up river. Suggestions on who to use for what part of the river? Anyone wanna go? It's looking like it will just be me.

Abe's has a legit breakfast. I fished it a couple summers ago. Great river! Totally worth it. Go small!!! I'm talking 26-28 on midges and even dries. Use the "San Juan rig". The guys at Abe's can tell you all the info you need. Bring bug spray! Mosquitos are bad.

Congratulations. Fishing time definitely takes a hit, but being a dad is now my favorite thing to do. I have a 17 month old and I know for a fact that I've never laughed and smiled more in my life than I have this past year and a half. They grow up fast so enjoy every minute of it!

Altidore is suppose to be fit enough to play Tuesday. Belgium is gonna be down some players too. Their captain, Kompany, will be out with an injury and its rumored that a few other guys will be out too. That improves our chances. We have the talent to beat Belgium, we just cant start ball watching on when we are on defense. Plus, Bradley has got to step up his game. He has not been in top this whole tournament.

Belgium is full of talented players. Hazard, Kompany, Felaini. However, they don't have that chemistry like some of the other big teams out of Europe do. The Dutch are going to be the European team to beat. Germany is always solid, but I see them going down to a South American side. Costa Rica has been the biggest surprise to me. They won a tough group. I've gotten behind on this thread. Hadn't been on the forum in a while. Glad to see the conversation has been ongoing and (mostly) positive. Bring on Belgium!!

There will be plenty of time for your baseball. It's only a month and a half tournament every 4 years. Baseball is boring every year ;-)

Ok, then I was mistaken about the zone number. I was in zone 2, not 3. I saw numerous anglers using power eggs and worms.

I wasn't disappointed in the number of people at the park yesterday, nor was I disappointed in how many kids there were running around (Boy Scout Troops from OK). However; I was disappointed in how many people I saw fishing zone 3 with things other than flies. It seemed as though no one gave any regard to the special restrictions for fishing that specific area. Did I miss something? Was it a special day, where you could fish whatever you wanted anywhere you wanted to?

Premiere League is at the halfway point. Spurs are right where they should be . Looks like it'll be City and Chelsea battling it out for the league IMO. Arsenal has been pretty good too though. Any thoughts?

Yeah. They'd really start taking each other out then. I am of course referring to the incident where one Tide fan shot another because she wasn't as angry about the loss to Auburn as she should be. On a side note, I hate Ohio State. I hope they lose. There record would be more impressive if they played in a stronger conference and against more top 25 teams. They don't. So if they get left out because of their mediocre schedule, then so be it. Mizzou and Auburn for the SEC title game just blows my mind. Mizzou was a mid table team when they were in the Big 12, but now they're controlling their own destiny. After two of the greatest college football games I've ever seen by the Auburn Tigers, I want to see them go for the NC. Sorry Mizzou fans. Gotta go War Eagle on that one. The FSU qb won't be dealt with until after the season is over. If he is excused from his duties, I hope their defense can stop EVERYTHING, otherwise they'll lose the championship.

Water wasn't real clear last weekend, but it was definitely better than previously reported. Fished up by the dam and caught a few. The group of guys I was with had hit the waterfall that was below the island and did really well on rusty orange and red midges. I caught my fish on the hare and copper. Hoping to get out before the holiday!

I know with hunting in full swing, many of you guys are preoccupied. However, has anyone had the chance to get out on the water lately? There hasn't been a new post since late Oct. Any news?

I was really hoping that they were gonna have to sit this one out! Unfortunately, Zusi decided to be a hero and win the game for the US. Gah. On a side note, I got to go see Sporting KC play. That place is awesome! Not a bad seat in the house. They lost to Philadelphia that night, but they gained a new fan (always been a Galaxy fan because of Cobi Jones). Hopefully they can do well in the playoffs!

US has qualified at the top of the table. Mexico is in danger of not even going!
