  1. Brother, I like you, even if your taste in football teams stinks
  2. Mr. Bill: to your original post around the folks trying to load the boat, their feeble attempts, and subsequent attitudes.... My daddy had a saying when I would do something, well, stupid.... "Son, the Lord protects fools and drunks - and I know you haven't been drinking"
  3. I think I'd lose that one either way haha!!
  4. I realize it's July 4th weekend..... My son (FINALLY!!!!) has a Saturday off of work, and asked if we could fish a tourney somewhere. I don't think there's one on Beaver, and I doubt there is anything on Table Rock. But, I told him I'd ask, so as a Daddy, I've got to ask lol!!!
  5. Hope you plugged in your phone. I think you were in power saving mode lol
  6. I always figured if stuck on the island with Ginger / Mary Ann, my answer would be "yes, please"
  7. That was a dang good read. Thank you.
  8. I am thinking about letting my son break in his truck with a pull to Grand this Friday (7-3-15). I like to launch from Disney and fish clear water. Has anyone been that way recently? Hoping the water has receded enough to allow launch from Disney. Observations / help is appreciated. Thank you.

    Great report and pics.
  10. Launched 412 ramp around 06:45. Flipped bushes / brush; never got the boat deeper than 20' or so. We had 2-3 keeper Largemouth I think? Jason will probably remember and correct me in a bit... We caught a total of 14, and loaded around 13:00. Best baits were a drop shot worm with 12" or so leader and a 5/16 pegged Flippin' rig. 79° water in morning, warmed to 82° by the time we left. Seemed to do better in shaded areas for the most part - even though the water was really muddy. Lots of debris ( read: FULL TREES) floating, please be careful. All totaled: Great day Great friend Great fellowship Great fishing And not a single debate about flags, who can marry who, or catch&release / drop in the grease. Tight lines and God bless!! Joe
  11. Bitter's in Longwood is a can't miss shop, usually
  12. Brother, I literally had one typed out for ya (of course, my home lake is Beaver), but I couldn't pull the trigger. Mr. Phil would've skinned me alive
  13. I have been using some stuff from a new (to me) company called Power Team Lures. If the mailman is good to me tomorrow, I'll have a big watermelon worm to try Saturday morning. Going to run it on a wobble head.
  14. Yes sir I'm with ya. The junior Bass Masters I take in tournaments used to get all worked up because they thought a fish would be over or under what the "golden rule" said as well. I never could get a group of 10-16 year olds to understand E+S+T+I+M+A+T+E haha
  15. ONLY ESTIMATES - Trying to avoid the inevitable hundred stories about the 12.5 Spot that weighed 3 pounds - not doubting, just pointing out this is just a quick chart I found online for anyone that wanted a pocket reference. I like the reference to "24.5 inches"
  16. Don't forget how close that lightning was to your dock
  17. I'll thank you to keep any form of mathematics off this bass fishing forum. I flunked College Algebra - THREE times (true story)
  18. Looks like a great morning!
  19. Before I forget - Sometimes there are really (I mean REALLY) good deals at Dick Blick. They cater to teachers, but anyone can purchase.
  20. I hear ya. Painting is definitely a winter hobby for me
  21. Hey guys! I read someone was wondering about the SpazStix Paint? LOVE IT! The color-shift paints they have are Sa-Weet! Just need to remember to lay a base of the SpazStix black or silver backer. I'll put a couple pics below, just keep in mind that you really need sunshine and movement of the baits to get the true effect. In the below pic, all three baits are actually the same shade of purple, but shift depending on angle of light: Same principle here: Foiling is fun (and messy), but once a lifetime is enough for me Foil - Foiled / Painted -
  22. Brother, I am glad to see some dry land in the background. I heard y'all had been pounded as badly as us in NWA the last several weeks!
  23. Yes sir, I will. I never noticed that I guess.
  24. 12lb Sunline Reaction Fluoro / 7' cranking stick / 5:4.1 reel = 15' or so would be my estimation. P.S. - The Megabass looking blank is supposed to be back in stock at Dakota Lakes in 3-4 weeks.
