  1. After reading everyone's comments and wondering what is good and what is bad. There seems to be a solution that no one wants to hear. Put a ban on all wading and all boating. Not likely to happen because of revenue loss to the state and recreational areas. We will see what takes precedence now. Stopping the spread or stopping the revenue. Lets just see how serious this issue really is.
  2. If that's true, then the white river in arkansas should be dead by now.
  3. Sorry, I just noticed this on your original post. Missouri does not have line class records. Everything is all tackle, anything goes. State records are not like IGFA, they are not separated into line class. But it is big enough to check out.
  4. I am pretty certain they have a record class for all of missouri's fish. As I recall, the smallmouth buffalo is 42 pounds. Do not know much about your fish. A picture or the actual fish will be required for ID. Good luck and let us know.
  5. sounds like a great day to be on the river otf. Add a few fish to that, the way you prefer to catch them, and you have got a good trip. Thanks for the report.
  6. Is he able to see over the gunnels without sitting on a milk crate?
  7. Don't know alot about them but I have owned and used several of the 300, 310, and the 320's. They were a very popular fly reel in the 70's. They were one of the few that you could modify the click drag to be quiet and work smoothly. I used them up until the time that SA came out with a comparable click dog reel. Like the old systems reels, each size was designated for a certain size fly line. As in system 4 was for a 4 weight fly line with backing. A very good and dependable reel in it's day. I still have at least one, of each size of the Heddon's. Of course mine are well used as compared to the one you described. But I can tell you for a fact, they are almost impossible to wear out. I would think they would be a good collectable.
  8. Hey, it was good to talk with you guys friday night. Glad to hear you caught some fish on the mouse. What happened to Marcus? You didn't mention him in the fishing report. Did he fall out of the boat or something?
  9. Hey Kevin and Cory, it was good to meet you guys as well. And in addition, it was good to see Leonard, Micheal, Marcus and Matt. It was like a friday night renuion from a few years past.
  10. YOu have hit the nail on the head Bruegy. Being elderly with a bad hip, it will force me to use something with a studded sole. Add the fact that I fish at night most of the time, it truely concerns me. But like everyone else we will comply with any and all new regulations.
  11. Love seeing those rock bass. The last pic has a lighter body color. Time of year, murky water? Good photo's Chief.
  12. Of course they are, don't you be trying to spread any rumors.
  13. Well I guess I just have to live with my ignorance. You go have yourself a real fine trout fishing trip.
  14. I will stand by my original statement, that there is a lot more to consider than just felt. I.e. boot laces, cushioned insoles inside the boot, the boot material, padded boat rails, even anchor ropes, and corded stringers. If these other materials are so easily disinfected, as someone stated, then why not felt as well?
  15. I will respect your opinion whereas you obviously do not mine, but that's ok. But I am curious, which Columbia are you from?
  16. If they are truly concerned about the rock snot, then there are alot more items that need to be put on the ban list. We will see how this plays out.
  17. Dang. Before long it will be illegal to fall down in a trout stream, because your clothes will also retain the rock snot micro what ever it is. No more wool gloves, and don't you dare let your hat get blown into the water. You will have to soak your fly line and your flies in salt brine before using the wire brush on them. Them vibrating soles are slicker than the rock snot. By the way, are wader "boot laces" suspect, or is that something they just conveniently overlook?
  18. Holiday weekend, dayshift? You must love the torture Pete. Good fishing to you.
  19. Have Marcus stick his hand in the water to see if it's working properly.
  20. I'm in. I have been catching mine in the 3rd raceway from the upper parking lot. The biggest challenge is casting under that dang old netting they installed.
  21. You are exactly right on all counts Gavin.
  22. This is a never ending issue that is asked every year. TR will turn over when the surface water reaches 39.2 degrees. Sometimes it happens twice a year, some years it never happens. As far as the do levels, the trout in the tailwater have no symtoms of being stressed as yet.
  23. I was wondering where those bigger fish were at. All I can catch are those 3 to 5 pounders. Thx for the report there Micheal.
  24. Recently I fished just upstream from a gentleman using a three way dropper rig, or trotline, as we call it in the ozarks. I was catching fish the old fashioned way with one fly. He was mostly snagging fish almost every drift. Occasionally he would have a fish fair hooked, but it was a rare event. Do the rest of you have to put up with these inconviences when fishing the multi dropper rig? I have always contended that the dropper rig was taylor made for snagging fish. That gentleman proved me right.
  25. Almost every thing I use could be considered a sow bug. I carry five patterns of sowbugs, one mayfly, and one egg. Add a couple of Leonard's hybernators, fishindoug's trout assassin, Jeff Tiff's fox squirrel, and that is my entire fly box.
