  1. Before I say where these were caught. tell me what you think as far as which fish they could be.
  2. You just have to be careful what you ask for Dave. Its like an ongoing thing with lots of sidetracking. Some good entertainment here. And since we are on the subject, fishing was great again today. An even lighter crowd than friday and much warmer. Caught several trout, then moved to zone 3 for some play time with the smallmouth and goggle eye. Took some pictures that I am going to post on th e goggle eye thread. Also I found out some more info on the zone three boundaries. Winter c and r used to be whistle bridge to the wooden bridge until Mike Mitchell took the helm at the hatchery. He was the one who opened up that 40 yard section some time after 04. So there we go.
  3. boy oh boy, dont forget the cornbread
  4. I wannabe fishin every day
  5. I had a couple of those minners as well, one was accidently launched over my shoulder. All of the rough fish were caught on 16 grey scud. The smallmouth, goggle eyes, and red horse, on maribo jigs in zone three. We need to meet up for a trip to montauk or some wheres about.
  6. Had a good time at bssp today. Caught a mixed bag of fish for sure. I caught trout, a first ever redhorse on artificial, google eye or is that goggle eye, one really nice one too, lunker size, several smallmouth, with one topping in around 2 lbs, and more trout. Crowd was light and fish were in abundance.
  7. Nice stringers. Where did you catch all them trout?
  8. I am guessing that you are joking about fishing not good.
  9. Met up with some friends at jrsp, i mean bssp on sunday. The current regs read, "zone three is from the whistle bridge to niangua river". I swear that not too long ago it read from the whistle bridge to the wooden bridge over the spring branch. I might have been dreamin but Ill stick to that story. Fishin was good but the creek was crowded as was taney tis past friday. The good weather had people out and about with some probably playing hooky on friday. Parking lots were full at both locations.
  10. Sounds like a good day and great weather for sure. Funny you should mention the hatchery truck. Friday, about late morning, we watched a hatchery truck load up and leave the hatchery at taneycomo. We commented on where it could be going. Looks like it might be the same one you saw. Thanks for the report.
  11. Not sure fw, but I recall the regs saying fishing was allowed from the whistle bridge to the wooden bridge in zone 3.
  12. I think maybe, he was referring to the winter regs. As best as I can recall, the short section of creek, downstream of the lower bridge to the river,is off limits this time of year. That section is still in the park but off limits to winter fishing.
  13. My goal is simple, to continue to be able to wade and fish. Two years ago I had major surgery for cancer, and while in recovery, I got a blood infection that dang near killed me. My blood pressure bottomed out and I lost the use of both legs. For the past 18 months I have been learning how to walk again. In august I got back in the creek, and continue to get stronger each trip. Of all of the therapy treatments, this cold water therapy is by far the best. I have to wade cautiously, and stop and rest from time to time, but by golly I got no complaints. A very good friend encouraged me to do this, and I thank him very much. Corky and I have fished together at least once each week since august. Corky is also in rehab after several wrist and elbow surgeries. We have had some great trips and I hope to continue this thru 2015.
  14. Looks buzzard to me. would work the same as goose but more twang.
  15. Like Duane, I use 6 and 7x at taney during the day. At night I will switch over to 5x. At all of the trout parks, 6 and 7 is the norm for me. I much prefer to fight a big fish on light tippet. It keeps you from getting in a hurry and overpowering your hook holding ability. Plus I enjoy the challenge of landing big fish on light tippet. I am sure 4x catches just as many fish.
  16. Very nice, I always enjoyed fishing the Spring, but it has been years back. If I recall , it was Terry Beason's favorite getaway. Nice pictures and thanks for the report. Makes me think seriously about going back.
  17. No luck should have been at bssp on the 12th, several big foots tromping around trying to catch fish. One walked in front of me and asked how I was doing. I said, haven't caught a fish all day. I caught several fish, some average, but mostly small, silvery with no color, like the white river trout those oaf guys spoke of. It was a fun day and met a couple of guys from kc.
  18. Well some pretty fish for sure, and I could not help but wonder, what the difference between holding a fish with a boga, and the way you were holding these fish, supporting them with the jig. Just saying because of the extended argument over the boga grip.
  19. This is sad, if we are going to support this then a more widespread distribution should occur. Last time I looked, it was just about as far to meramec from stlouis as it is from springfield. Scales looked tipped towards the east and the north.
  20. Well I am thinking Pete, why does springfield not have a winter program? It is as large or larger than sedalia. Not sure how big Jackson or mexico is, but I am guessing no larger than the others I mentioned. Where do you draw the line for fair distribution?
  21. You surely had a great day Ollie, but you know, Buzz is never going to believe that story.
  22. Might catch a few bears, all the fish are already dead or dying.
  23. Do they stock any springfield ponds with urbana trout? How about boliver, branson, marshfield, or lebanon?
