  1. Have we heard from JD lately? If I read those regulations correctly, it looks as if they do not require a trout stamp to fish catch and release. I suppose that during warmer weather, anglers might be fishing for perch or bass.
  2. You told the story well. This fish owes the rest of her adult life{march one} to your continued effort to revive her. Thank you my good friend.
  3. Great report Pete. You will have to teach Jimmy how to run that video on the next trip. Glad you guys had a good trip with some decent weather.
  4. Thanks Duane. It was great to see you as well. Things don't get much better than today. I got to spend the day on the water with two good friends, and caught a giant fish as well. You had a good day and it sounds as if you caught a couple more after Kdan and I left. I'll be looking forward to seeing you and MC on the 2nd. Kdan actually hooked up with this huge rainbow earlier in the morning. After a short fight with several head shakes, the fish broke off. Don't anyone tell Leonard, but I caught it on his "hibenator fly". He will go into a strut if he finds out. What Kdan was referring to is this is my thiry first fish over 10 pounds. By all rights I should have been congratulating Kdan instead of the other way around. It would have been nice to see "him" have landed the fish.
  5. It's a good thing that you can re=tie that leader quicker than you can type.
  6. Good report to go along with a great weekend. A much deserved break in the weather and sounds like you made the most of it. Thanks for posting.
  7. You will probably catch some slack over those statements. Several fine sportsmen from this board , fish the parks and are outstanding anglers. Believe it or not, there is an art and a skill level to fishing the parks. One that would rival any blue ribbon pure breed.
  8. This type of rudness is probably carried over from their everyday style of living. Their daily routine survives on crowding you out of the last parking spot, not waiting their turn to pass on the highway, and screaming foul when another kid beats their kid at a sporting event. We often use the term, trout park mentality, but that's only an expression and not the true root of the problem. Being respectful and courteous should be second nature. You have to feel sorry for people with that attitude, and even sorrier for their kids having to watch their parents act like idiots. There is no good way to handle a situation like you experienced and we all see so often these days. For me, it is best to move on and go back to enjoying my day on the water. The people that crowded you out, will do the same thing to someone else tomorrow, no matter what you say to them.
  9. Well I have. Thx for asking. Caught some nice browns this winter. Two resident browns at bssp I have caught numerous times this winter. They haven't got any smarter, but they sure have got alot better about using the moss beds to part company with me. I had both hooked up again on friday only to have them both run through the moss and break me off. I haven't caught any good rainbows and as a matter of fact I don't think I have even hooked up with any over 5 pounds. I did catch a couple of smallmouth at bssp, but nothing like past years. Kdan and I are headed to RR tomorrow for a last hoorah. Hope to see you and Matt on the creek soon. Later. Rick
  10. Those are some really nice winter time fish Bruce. Glad to hear you got out and about on such a great day. We have definately paid our dues this winter. Thx for posting. Rick
  11. Welcome Matt, you will fit right in. If good casting was a requirement for catching trout, I would have given up a long time ago. You might be like duckydoty someday and actually "know" how to cast.
  12. Welcome JimG, tell us where you fish and hunt. Most likely you have neighbors on this site.
  13. Thx for that info. Kdan and I are headed that way on monday. Glad to hear you had a great day, and the weather was comfortable for a change. It was 41 degrees on the creek at bssp today.
  14. Good report, glad you got out and about. After looking at that track again, it could be that of a wounded mountain lion.
  15. IS that deer tracks beside the net in your #6 picture? That's a good fish, the net is 16 inches from hoop to upper handle. Does MC know that you had her net?
  16. Sorry to hear the news. I used Chuck's book to explore the many lesser known creeks, at that time, along the I44 corridor. Back in the 80's his name was known to most missouri trout anglers.
  17. I will be at RR on 3-2, come on down and I will introduce you to Tiefenheuer and Horton. These two guys are the best of the best of missouri's sight fishermen. Long time friends and some of the finest sportsmen that missouri has to offer.
  18. I have had some great, not much of a crowd, days on the creek this winter. But give me some sunshine and no snow. I'm beyond ready. Going along with OTF, I hope you all have some great, and much deserved, spring time fishing. I think the end of old man winter is in sight.
  19. Thx Tim
  20. Kdan and I were thinking of a road trip. How much snow did RR get on this last go round? And what are the roads like near the park?
  21. Flytyer 57 lives at MHome. How are the roads FT57?
  22. The weather will be great as opposed to last week, hope you have a great trip.
  23. Holy smokes!! Which was he best at? Hey, while I am thinking about it, check your PM. I have tried twice, and it shows that you are unable to recieve. I sent a msg, for you, to DD's msg board.
  24. I stand corrected Pete. I will not make that error in the future. Did you go to bsd over the weekend?
