  1. It's a tarpon 100. 10c bridge on spring river.
  2. Caught a limit today within sight of the bridge. Saw boats going up and down river but not a lot of people fishing off the bank yet.
  3. I agree.
  4. Great pictures!
  5. They look upside down to me.
  6. Jack, I can give you the general location where one now rests in the river. It's about a 1/4 mile stretch of water to look thru, my son noticed it fell off his kayak just as he got to the takeout yesterday. It bummed him out big time.
  7. Then what side the handle is on shouldn't matter, you will always have those times you switch hands.

    Big Bass

Looks like a new lake record. http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/article.aspx?subjectid=25&articleid=20130304_25_0_Angler560555&r=3208
  9. Why bait caster? Spinning rod should be a better choice for the lighter weights.
  10. I believe they already have 10 streams with special regulations for improved smallmouth fishing. I didn't harvest a bass from a stream last year, but I dont want to loose the right to legally harvest some bass if I want too. Why should the limits and size restrictions be based off what catch and release sport anglers suggest? They are the ones with the heart strings being tugged the most. You could keep suggesting more and more restrictions if things don't play out like you hoped for. I would rather leave it up to the MDC to make their decisions based on the health of the streams and not influenced by pressure of the online fishing community.
  11. So you cut the limit in half, that's 12 total legal fish taken, I still don't think it would make people happy. The regulations are set for a sustainable harvest of a resource, it shouldn't be changed for a few people just wanting an oasis fishing environment with no other anglers permitted and giant fish every cast.

    Classic

I heard a rumor they were taking the fish to Ft. Gibson after weighing them. Can't find any info on that personally, but heard from a weekly fishermen on grand lake.
  13. But why do people keep pushing MDC to change the regulations? It all boils down to the same thing, it's a tough pill to swallow. You don't want any other fishing pressure, no meat eaters, no meth heads, no giggers, no party floaters. if only we all could each have our own private creek to fish. Let's make enough regulation changes that force everyone else off the creeks.
  14. That's a cool plan. I have heard, don't know if it's true, a squirrel will Travel a mile in a days time. Grey squirrels can run 20mph for a short distance.
  15. The MDC is doing their job, and I'm glad we have them. I just dont understand the constant arm chair quarterbacks trying to do the MDC's job based on their own wants. Maybe MDC should stand for Most Deserved Characters tell us what you want? They have already put in place a lot of restrictions on the smallmouth, if keeps going like that you loose your ability to choose. I choose to release tons of smallmouth, and most do, but I want my options.
  16. I can just picture someday in the future, talking with the grand kids, using the term (back in the good old days) we used to be able to harvest some of these resources we have here on earth. They would say WOW no kidding? Yep something in the way of sport blinded too many people.
  17. #1 is life, they already have the rules set its their baby to enforce if needed. #2 thru #4 Sounds like creative manipulation to change things that affect a LOT of people to satisfy YOUR desires. Not everybody worships the same fish, but you want to anoint it as THE god, and we all have to bow to your wishes?? Sit back and actually think awhile.
  18. What results do you desire? I'm starting to think you guys are getting too emotionally attached to just one species of fish.
  19. It might get more people killed when you have an accident?
  20. Awesome pics Gavin! Food, fishing, camping, your doing good!
  21. That sounds pretty dang good right now! Or spot gumbo..
  22. And they don't use worms.
  23. You just don't know enough people that fish. Almost all that I know who fish will keep a limit of whatever they catch.
  24. That water looks nice!
