  1. I am so sick of this horse crap worry on the lower JF. Everythings fine IMO. Hell, the best late summer fishing on the lower river is from Shawnee Creek down. Plenty of nice fish down there, just fish it real slow. Like 3 1/2 miles... ALL DAY LONG! Go to the Eminence chamber of commerce website and it will tell you what weekend every month through the summer the trail rides are held. Usually the third weekend, but check and avoid it. You'll be good.
  2. Phil, are you lookin' to put in a "I CAUGHT THIS AT LILLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT RIDE IN 3-D" ? Just kiddin' bud... Actually, if you'd like a response from me from when we took the kids down when they were younger, let me know. I'm thinkin' that's what you're after.
  3. Yep, if you're concerned about drive time from Columbia, I'd hit the Gasconade or Big Piney for smallmouth. Hop, skip, and a jump for you from Columbia. If you're needing info on where to stay and where to float, just post again. Or PM me. I am a big fan of the Jacks Fork, but it's a little ways from ya and the best water isn't really floatable now. Great late summer fishing for smallmouth from Shawnee Creek down to the Current. Wouldn't be too concerned with the horse poop reports below Eminence. It's overblown in my opinion. Caught many nice smallies late July and early August on the last three miles of the JF.
  4. Sorry about my reply Phil. But actually what I said is what I do there. You're choices are for the people with youngsters. I avoid Branson now.
  5. Bluff Boy... where is Camper's Point? Did they come in by boat or did they drive in? The pop's a loser anyhow!
  6. Jim Stafford Phil, then I'm out of there!
  7. Mutuals, mutuals, mutuals... long term, long term, long term.
  8. Bumping again for the last time...
  9. My one and only guided trip resulted in this. Beaver Lake last october. Did a half day trip, but had the first serious cold front for the season hit the night before. Temps the day we went in the low 40's. Low 70's the day before and low 60's the day after. Cold drizzle the day we fished. Just our luck. Here's what happened... our guide's boss had a group of return clients with him. Including him, six in the boat. We had four in the boat. Our guide was bullheaded... his boss with his crew kept marking fish and radioing our guide to come over. Our guide was a sawed off little you know what and wouldn't head over. Want'ed to prove to us he could find'em. This happened through out or entire half day trip. I did luck into a ten pounder. We were done... but that evening we looked at the pics posted by the guide service and saw that the group with the boss ended up limiting out with a 26 pounder caught. Well, we tipped him. I was not comfortable with doing so. Just didn't care for the guy. It was my decision to do so, but I wouldn't do it again. Don't think I'd use that service down on Beaver again either for the help he's got. Lesson learned I suppose...
  10. I've floated Flat Creek many times from the 39 bridge to EE. I've got buddies on this forum who don't care for the stretch but I have done well on it in the past. I have yet to float EE down to just above the lake, but plan to do so. Never have I had to portage around trees or such. Always a nice clean float. Plenty of smallmouth and goggleye. Check out the Missouri Gazzeteer for access points.

    World Cup

Yep, it sucked all right. Altidore being our striker never scored a goal the whole tournament. The defensive line fell asleep and did not converse at critical times. Bradley should've scored yesterday but, although he had plenty of time, never looked up to see where the keeper was. Lots of shots on goal, but not quality shots. I question Coach Bradley's starting lineup also. Still... I think the USA has made progress in that the nation cares more about the sport of soccer. Hope Landon can make one more world cup!
  12. Had walleye tuesday night caught from Mozingo up here in N.W. MIZZOU. Still have a couple of freezer bags left of it and plenty of crappie from there and the Kansas side also... on the darker side, watched my brother-in-law recently swallow a whole canadien crawler and sweared he'd never touch walleye again. Poor misguided fellow...
  13. Thought i'd bump this up...
  14. I'm heading to Colorado july 8th thru the 17th. I've got a neat little book I ordered from their fish and game department on fishing the Grand Mesa, but was wondering if anyone has fished the area. Any recommendations would be appreciated...
  15. I'd go with the current regs on black bass for largemouth and spots. Smallmouth are what we all care for on the rivers. I know you guys over east wanna eradicate spots. Heck, look at all the regs you gotta keep up on depending on where you're fishing for trout. If MDC did the same for smallmouth, people would EVENTUALLY follow the same type of regs for smallmouth fishing. It would take awhile and the MDC would have to buy in. I'd darn sure go for it!
  16. I had a problem there too. Will not be needing her services anymore.
  17. JD.............. go fishing my friend.
  18. C'mon... the poor guy is so stressed out he had to relax at a yacht race! The poor crooked, stupid son-of a-................ GUN!
  19. I always stay there at Cedar Camp. Karen and Tammy are great people. Her husband John was awesome. Sadly, he passed away last year waiting on some floaters to arrive at Bannister.
  20. Hey Wily... did you see a big group of crazed females down there? My wife's annual girls float was this weekend. They stayed at River Ranch and did an 8 mile float back to the campground. 36 women total... don't know if I'd wanna be the only rooster in that henhouse. (There was a day though!)
  21. Where did you put in and take out?
  22. What kind of discolered and frothy water were you drinking Wily?
  23. Hell Ness... go ahead and post. Just remember your motto. "EDIT" first! You missed a good get together down on Shoal.
  24. Jacks Fork from Emenince (Horse Camp) down. Trail rides criss-crossing the river almost to Two Rivers. Do not float the JF from Emenince to Two Rivers when the trail rides take place through the summer. Usually the third weekend of the month. Check the Emenince Chamber of Commerce website for schedules.
  25. Sorry, gotta learn how to size these darn pics. Wished I was a computer nerd...
