  1. I play on CBS Sportsline. Thought it'd be neat to form a league consisting of only OAF guys or gals. I'd make it a private and not a public league so the first to respond wiill be in. Just need 12 people and it's FREE. Each league is divided into three four team divisions. I'd set it up as a "live draft" for a specific date and time. If interested shoot me a PM and I'll get it started. KC
  2. Congrats to Brent! Glad to see there's at least one KC boy who knows how to fish! Looking forward to watching this tournament and seeing the good things that will be coming his way.
  3. Just a quick bump. Still wondering.....
  4. Just a quick correction QB. It was Point 25, not 5.
  5. Put the boat in on Beaver yesterday. What a beautiful lake. Any of you guys know the story of that unfinished thing? Somebody had quite the plan but it sure looks like their vision was dashed early. My mother-in-law remembers hearing a story about it but can't recall the details.
  6. QB... the wife and I are down here in Cassville with the in-laws for the week. Hit a spot right on point 5 where people jump off the rock and bass were pushing shad to the surface. It was about 10:30 AM and she caught somewhere around 15 in less than an hour using a blue and silver kastmaster. Thanks for your reports!
  7. My sentiments also. Ladies only... and NO mixed doubles either!
  8. If you do the BP and only wanna float for the day Six Crossings to Ross is what I'd do. If you wanna shuttle yourself you can and it's ok to leave a vehicle or two at 6X for the day. Don't really know if I'd leave one overnight there. Probably be easier to just call Wilderness Ridge and have them shuttle you. But you can leave a vehicle or two at their place if you really wanna shuttle yourself. Just thinking that with school starting in many places the Saturday crowds should be way down, not sure if the college kids are back to school yet or not. But they might be too busy getting ready for school right now to float. Floated once years ago from Ross to the Fort in the fall with Rich's and had it to ourselves. Great trip and Rich picked us up somewhere next to the water supply dam but I can't remember exactly where. Wherever you go... have a good (and cold) one!
  9. Wife and I will be down one day next week Russ. Gonna be over in Cassville all week. I'll give ya a call.
  10. No problem with your method here bud. I've caught and brought many trout home with a nightcrawler. I love to eat them. Especially Steelhead from Oregon. And that's happening late next month. Kings are fair game too as they'll be in season. Can't wait! Uh... times have changed as you know. No crawlers will be used.
  11. I say we ask Phil to start a gambling forum. He can become a Bookie and either rake it in or end up spending some time away from the Landing. I've enjoyed seeing some of your pre-season predictions. Who the heck knows what's gonna happen. And of course I'm kidding about gambling on this site, but how about a weekly thing just for fun for whoever is interested in picking Mizzou games? Of course, no money involved. Only pride. We who bleed Black and Gold might get hammered. But hey... that's why we bleed our school colors. Whad'ya say Phil? Is this pheasable?
  12. You ever seen him play Ronnie?
  13. Ditto Wayne. And on another note, there are more cottontails here in the city than I ever see in rural areas.
  14. They're so much better eating than pheasant. They just don't mount as nice.
  15. You guys should try and traverse Smithville Lake up here. It's only 800 surface acres smaller Pomme but you wouldn't know it.
  16. I've got a southern mindset Ronnie. But I know you wasn't talkin' to me. (Second sentence straight from "Hooked on Phonics... Mason/Dixon version")
  17. At last! We now know what's been happening to our quail...
  18. Tragic summer down there. I'll be on Beaver with my boat in a couple of weeks. I never jump off the boat and swim without something I can float on. It's not always a PFD, which is dumb, but at least it's something to hang on to.
  19. Didn't mean to come off as P'd Off Bigs. I think I've seen ya wearing your Mizzou cap in some of your pics. I know you're a fan. This is just fun sports talk. I will admit to missing Christenson as our OC. Didn't realize that DGB was from ST. Louis. Sounds just like Maclin's situation. I do believe our skill guys have as much or more speed as anyone in the SEC. But yes, SEC defenses are faster than the Big XII's. Our defense I hope can step it up against the run oriented offenses. It's a whole new era beginning and I'm excited.
  20. S-Bigs, if you're a Mizzou fan you don't sound like one. Yes... it's gonna be tough. I think the Tigers are up for it. The SEC is built on defense. Our offense man for man is faster than ANY SEC offense. This season will be about whether our offense produces in a defensive minded confernce. Jury's out. And as far as home grown talent goes... DGB is better than anything St. Louis produced this year. Or any HS in the country for that matter.
  21. Poor bird, it swallowed an invasive crawdad. Or was blindsided by an asian carp while you weren't looking. Or it drank water from Lake Ozark's city discharge.
  22. That's fitting... the Chinese won didn't they?
  23. Really enjoyed the video... thanks! Just wondering though, how the heck can you trout guys stand a pair of waders in this heat? I'd be head first in that water after I'd fished it.
  24. Me too... just saw the result of the women's gymnastics to be shown tonight. ARGGGH!
  25. The ONSR are the same. Plenty of left behind trash on gravel bars and the usual cans on the river bottom. I've picked up plenty of trash myself but my wife and I followed a stream team down the JF once a few years ago and did what we could for them. We actually quit fishing. It sucks that we have litter and porno splattered across Missouri interstates. Too bad it happens on the rivers too. Guess it takes man's effort or high water to wipe out the signs of the year before. But what we miss ends up someone's else's problem. So... here's for the the rivers... downstream.... from the party crowds.
