Don't think we ever said, but Champ188 and I will be there. I brought 5lbs of potato salad last time. Does that work again or do we need more main course stuff? I kept the salad in an ice chest while we fished.
Funny bite on the jig, though. Catching them, but you have to pay attention. No distinct tick or thump, just a heavy feeling. Set the hook and it's on.
No oranges. Although the peels are biodegradable, so to speak, Champ knows I'd fuss about putting them in the water. Oranges are cool, but I'm a grapefruit girl. With salt. Oh, and I'm so geographically challenged on the water, you'd need a Florida orange grove to make me a trail back.
I don't know how inspiring we are. Didn't launch until 11. lol We were planning on fishing today instead of Saturday. I wasn't feeling well Friday night. Felt better after we got up and started moving around, so decided to make a trip anyway. Sounds like a rough guide trip. Warmer weather coming.
Bring it. Ready for some warmer water and less finicky fish...I hope. We're in a golf tournament Saturday (Sweetheart Invitational postponed from yesterday), but I'm sure we're fishing Sunday. Monday-Friday is work, work, work.
I realize women with legions of shoes are commonplace, but considering I have two pairs of waterproof fishing boots, two pairs of Crocs and a pair of tennis shoes...I'd rather have the rods. Oh, I'm sorry. I lied. I have shoes for playing golf, too. Had the same pair of tennis shoes for eight years. lol Love the cartoon. It's a hoot.
He's such a funny guy. He wishes that's the reason I catch most of the fish when they're on a jig. Hope your knee work goes well and you can get together with Champ soon. He will take care of you 'cos he's a good like that.
Good thing that crabby guy that used to do BV lake patrol wasn't there. You might have been issued a citation for indecent exposure. lol Nice save and glad everything worked out. Got paired with Jim Eakins in a Central Pro-Am at TR one year and he shared with me why he carries a second rain suit sealed in a waterproof bag. I forget where he was fishing - probably on big water like Champlain, but the water was extremely rough and he took a huge wave that engulfed the boat. He needed a rain suit that day, but his was soaked inside and out from being "submerged." After that day, he started carrying a spare in the waterproof bag (all his boxes flooded, as well). It was an interesting story.
Good idea on both. I'm always looking for the "facilities" at this time of day making the trek even more challenging for me and hilarious for onlookers.
Champ forgot to mention that our routine is for him to put me in the water in the morning and I go get the trailer at the end of the day. The reason you can launch at this ramp in high water is because the parking lot is at the top of Mt. Everest. The ramp is the foot of the mountain. Thank goodness for the guard rails running alongside the ramp. I haul myself up them like a stair banister.
Happy Thanksgiving, Denny. Headed to Central Arkansas (Mt. Ida) for a visit with the in-laws. Looking forward to the fellowship... And the dressing! Hope you and Jackie have a great day.
True, and downwind made you feel like a long drive bomber, but going against it was fourteen kinds of tough. Most of our shots made the fairway yesterday. No lost balls. That's always a good thing.
hahaha - don't think I've ever been compared to woodpecker lips. No crowd. When we made the turn the cart barn guy said we were the only players on either course at that time.
