  1. Good for some folks, but not for me. I caught a 5 lb Saturday and a 5 lb Sunday. That was the extent of my good fishing. The wind howled, especially on Sunday. Usually a good thing, but it was so windy that fishing was a little difficult. Good thing was there was very little big boat traffic on Sunday. Guess the threat of storms kept them away. Here's the top three Saturday and Sunday in the Central Pro-Am event. The winning co-angler, Seth Holder from Kansas, caught the biggest fish of the weekend - 8.53 Saturday top three PL FIRST LAST HOMETOWN ST # FISH WEIGHT PAY OUT 1 SCOTT PAULEY HARTSBURG MO 5 22.06 $ 2,200.00 Seaguar Line Lews/Rod Reel 2 JIM KOPFF OLD MONROE MO 5 21.85 $ 1,500.00 Seaguar Line 3 MARTY MCGINNIS GRAVOIS MILLS MO 5 19.54 $ 1,000.00 Seaguar Line Sunday top three PL BOATER NON BOATER # FISH WEIGHT $ AMOUNT 1 SCOTT PAULEY GAYLE JULIAN 5 24.04 $2,430.00 2 MIKE WEBB JEFF DURR 5 23.04 $1,730.00 3 MARTY MCGINNIS KYLE MCGINNIS 5 22.03 $1,086.00
  2. Wow! Sounds like a fun day all around. Not sure which Lucky Craft you were using, but I really like the Lucky Craft RC 2.5 in the chartreuse perch color in the right conditions. Caught my biggest LM to date on it. I've caught some nice ones on the white shad, as well. We'll be at Bull in two weeks and again the following week. Looking forward to some time on the water there. Bull is one of my favorite lakes. Thanks for sharing.
  3. Good luck tomorrow, Bill. I'm going to drag my jig around some more. I caught 4-5 shorts, some measurers, plus that 5lb LM and 14" K. I'm kinda stuck on that jig now, for LOZ at least. Besides, it's pretty. Eakins Texas Craw - black, brown, amber. I may be a gal that likes to fish, but I still have some remnant of girly-girl in me. Course, Champ188 says the reason we get along so well is my high level of testosterone. lol
  4. It always seems warmer when you're catching 'em. At least it works for me.
  5. Uh-huh. We had our boat in the slip overnight, but I saw a couple of guys that were in danger of going overboard if they set the hook too hard - solid sleet on their deck. We're leaving again Wednesday morning early for LOZ. I need Sunday at home to catch up on laundry, etc. Friday night will be our only opportunity to get together. If that doesn't work out we'll catch up with you and Jackie another trip. I'll let you and Champ figure that out. Looking forward to it.
  6. Thanks, guys. Yeah we saw where there were some good bags in both OMTT and CMN and that you needed around 18lbs to even get a check. It might have been cold Saturday, but spring's coming. We fished longer on Sunday and found some warmer water. Did a little better. Between the two of us our best five weighed around 16. We came off the lake at 1:30 and didn't start until 8. Slackers. We had a long drive back home. I only caught one keeper out of the 6-7 we had. It was on an Academy H20 square bill. Think me and the fish were both surprised. Threw it in the dirt and cranked once. I thought, shoot, I've snagged something. I kept reeling and about the time I got even with a dock I noticed splashing. I'm an idiot. It's a wonder the fish didn't get off. Caught two shorts on a Wart and had another on I never saw. We won'be be back for two weeks. Fishing AIA at Table Rock on Saturday. Mine and hubby's 17th wedding anniversary. Woo-hoo! Celebrating it the way I like - fishing!
  7. Yikes! Left Northwest Arkansas at 6:45 this morning. Between battling the wind and rain all the way, it was a slow trip. We had already chickened out once after looking at the forecast and canceled our room, then decided to brave it anyway. Got checked in and on the water at Robin's Resort this afternoon for a couple of hours. Didn't go far. It sleeted the entire time. Water temps 48.6 to 49.9. Hubby caught one keeper LM. He laid it on the deck in the sleet for a picture. Heard from some anglers here fishing Children's Miracle Network that they couldn't get bit on a jerk bait. Changed to a Wart and caught 15. That'd work for me. Love the bump, bump, bump over the rocks, then slam! Tomorrow, frozen carpet and frozen trailer bunks. We're loading up and heading to the Niangua. Hopefully find some warmer water. Whatever we find will be warmer than the air temp. High of 39. Did I mention a chance of snow Sunday afternoon? On the plus side, the condo we are in at Robin's Resort is top notch. Besides being really nice and comfortable, we've got a great view of the boat dock and our slip.
  8. Good job, Mr. Bill! I take it you didn't toss the limit fish? Even if you had, sounds like there were plenty more to take its place. All kidding aside, I'm proud for you guys. What an awesome bag. Me and the mister are planning to fish AIA April 2 on our 17th wedding anniversary. I'd be tickled pink to celebrate it with a few fish at the scales. Don't imagine we'll hit 26 plus lbs though.
  9. Man, I hope not. I hate that stuff. We haven't seen any, but have fished primarily up the river arms lately.
  10. Wow! Good job, particularly for Beaver. Nice detail. Thanks for sharing. We only have tomorrow to fish this weekend and were planning on heading to Loch Lomond, but now I'm thinking ... hmmmm.
  11. For a minute they are. I'm kind of an embarassed expert on catching drum with bass tackle. Seem to hook-up with one every other trip or so. Hubby says he's tired of going for the net when I think I have a lunker on the line. lol
  12. Oh, right. I don't think to clear cookies and history unless something's not working. Probably should do that anyway. Thanks, again.
  13. Did you fix it for me? I actually replied to a post earlier to see if it was working after all my attempts and still the old one was showing. However, I just now replied to another post and saw it was on there. Oh, well, all's good until I catch a bigger one. I'll just keep this photo until then. Thanks.
  14. I agree with you, Bill. Wouldn't catch me turning left. As to being relegated to boat driver and net man and food and drink man only - I don't think I want a guy on the net who throws out the limit fish. Boat, food and drink - ok. I'll tell you a secret - don't tell Champ. I'm pretty sure I tossed the larger, rather than smaller cull fish at Stockton one year in team tournament. I was too afraid to fess up. Fortunately, the difference was small enough to make no difference. I was like you - couldn't keep up. He had that fin rocking and about the time I got one out of the net and was looking for culling clips, he was hauling in another. I got flustered. However, can't say I've thrown out #5 - yet. Contributing is what me and Champ are good at lately. Too bad donating to the Fann Brothers retirement fund isn't tax deductible.
  15. I freely admit I'm not very 'teknekal' and only learned this past year what an avatar was, so don't make fun of me. I went into my Profile, and Avatar and attempted to upload a .jpg 140x140 pixels only 25.19 KB. I've made several attemps without success. I decided to remove my old avatar, save the changes, log out and back in and try again. Each time I think I have it uploaded the old one is back in there again. I've attached the photo. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  16. You shouldn't have used up all your fish in AIA. We're making a run to Mt. Ida tomorrow to visit the folks. We hadn't decided where to fish Sunday. It may not be Table Rock from the sounds of it. lol
  17. Aw shucks, guys. You make an old lady blush. Bill, as always, you are highly entertaining. I normally look at the forum in the morning before work. You're usually good for at least a chuckle if not a belly laugh.
  18. I haven't seen the full results, but pretty sure B&B were third.
  19. I don't have a lot more to offer only to say, indeed, there are no fish in the Kings.
  20. I see members reply to an individual post on a topic where a portion or all of the original post is included in the reply bordered in a box. I know how to reply to an individual post, but if I only want a portion of the original quote to appear for emphasis, how do I do that? I've tried reply and cutting and pasting, but what's left isn't in a border. Thanks.
  21. Actually saw one on the ramp today. Told Champ188 "I see a boat on the ramp." He didn't pay much attention to that until I said, "No, ON the ramp." Fortunately there was some equipment nearby with forks and straps and helping hands. They had it back on the trailer in no time. Might be a little worse for wear, but they went ahead and launched and headed out like everything was fine.
  22. We drove over from Bella Vista this morning and didn't get on the water until 1 p.m. Lowest temp we found was 40.1 and most of the water we fished was 42-43 degrees. We were down the lake.
