  1. And you can see by the graph picture that SOMEONE had already seined the fish off your spot. lol Nope, sorry. If you see water that deep on our graph, we're just passing through.
  2. Didn’t get started too early, but it’s a long drive from Bella Vista and it wasn’t exactly tropical at 7:46 a.m. I checked the weather for yesterday and the high was 40. It was not a toasty, sunny 40 either as it was dark and a little windy in the afternoon. Only one other boat at the SK ramp when we launched. You’ll have to let Champ188 fill in the details as to where we went and what he caught…remember, I’m geographically challenged. We started close and he had two keeper spots in short order on a JB. I threw a swim jig he fixed up for me with a Keitech. I caught a short spot pretty quickly, as well. We’re thinking this might be ok. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a long three hours until we were to meet Big C and his lovely wife, Michelle, for lunch. I alternated between a finesse jig with a Lumpy Craw, the swim jig and the Wiggle Wart Terrin’s been catching them on. Green Craw, I think? Missed one more on a jig and one on the swim jig. That was it for me until we headed to the ramp to meet Chris and Michelle. They were waiting on us and we went to the Roadhouse Grill for a fantastic lunch. Great company and great food. Thumbs up on the chili cheeseburger (I added jalapenos to mine ). After a good visit with them, we loaded up and went to Eagle Rock. I threw the same combination, plus a blade. Caught a couple of shorts on the jig. Missed a few on the swim jig because I was too stupid to set the hook. The fish didn’t seem truly committed. Soft and barely there. Never got a bump on the Wart. WT ranged from 54-55 when / where we started down to 47/48 when we called it quits at Eagle Rock. We fished until dark. Saw the Winter Series results and it’s obvious someone was catching them, although my contention is that those boys fish the Rock all the time. We drive over from Arkansas when we can. Boy, that sounded whiny and lame. I noticed a few of them had little bags, though, so there.
  3. Thanks for the update. We'll get over there this week, too.
  4. Launched at SK this morning. Put it on the trailer in the afternoon and went to Eagle Rock. High was 40. Might sound balmy, but I wouldn't have been very comfy without my UnderArmour and GoreTex.
  5. I love that story. Champ188 actually told me about it first. He used to live in the Pensacola area.
  6. He gets hugs and kisses and foot rubs every day. So far it hasn't seemed to help us catch more fish, but he keeps promising it will.
  7. Nope. Nope. I pay my guide fee. I expect to be guided...and trolled. Although you know I don't mind being on the trolling motor when you're working on baits and it's not too windy. Then I can hit the jig spots I'm really slobbering over.
  8. Someone once told me that's why they call it fishing and not catching. Plenty of days you've put me right on them. Besides, we weren't the only ones not catching. We didn't see a one of the Solo Pro boys setting a hook.
  9. Yeah, that's right! I like it. lol
  10. Good to hear. Oh, and I'd much rather say I'm wearing a buff than a balaclava. What? I'm wearing a dessert on my head (baklava). Get redneck like Champ188 and just call it a head sock.
  11. Let me know what you think. I tell everyone about it because I consider it a great find. First learned of them fishing with a buddy of ours who's a guide at Broken Bow in Oklahoma. He took us fishing and was wearing one. Every company seems to some version of the same thing, but I'm sold on this one. I have the base layer tops and bottoms in the Infrared, too.
  12. Well, if he would back out at bit where I could parallel behind him, I wouldn't have to tailgate. hahaha He's pretty accommodating, but when he's throwing a blade there's this certain zoned look he gets...
  13. About ground the bill off a RC yesterday with no love. Finally caught one at the end of a long day, but I don't think the fish was trying to eat it. I threw it right on the bank and he was on there before I turned the handle. Think I hit him on the head. lol Hooks were under the "chin."
  14. It's very breathable. One of the things I like about it. I can't figure out how it blocks the wind, retains heat, but you aren't smothering. I don't worry about the science, though, so long as it works. Yep, no good on the coiffure.
  15. Uh, except this "buff." I'll never ever be without one again. IT IS AWESOME! https://www.underarmour.com/en-us/mens-coldgear-infrared-hood/pid1239863 I've never been able to keep my head and face warm winter fishing, no matter how many layers and head "socks" I put on. Most outings I only need this and my sweatshirt hood.
  16. CAN'T...STOP...EATING. MUST...GO...FISHING. SOON Thank goodness we're heading to the Rock in the morning.
  17. We're going Saturday and Sunday. Definitely try a JB. Or, let me say, Champ188 will try one. I'll probably be on a jig.
  18. Nice pic. Good looking sidekick you have there. ?
  19. I love the lumpy craw. Went through a whole bag one of our last two trips. Fish just hammered them.
  20. I was not smiling. ?
  21. Yep. That's what I expect the guide to do. ?
  22. Yes, she does.
  23. Early years were around Wichita Falls. Spent a couple of years in Abilene and outlying areas. Family moved to Dallas / Ft. Worth metroplex in the sixties. I crossed the border into Arkansas in 1987 and have lived here since.
  24. Bingo! Yep, jerkbait fish on Grand a couple of winters ago. Actually, think it was 2013. That was an awesome winter on Grand that year.
