  1. But I'm torn between golf and fishing in the fall.
  2. Yep. No jumping in the lake for me. You can park the golf cart in the shade and moving to your next shot gets the breeze stirring. Heck, I aim my shots for the shade. Lol. Come on fall.
  3. I call it Army golf. Left, right, left, right.
  4. I couldn't tell you where exactly where on TR, as most of you know I'm geographically challenged on the water, but Champ and I have seen jet skis and people skiing at daylight before. Yesterday we fished for a few hours on a small lake in Bella Vista. It was pretty nuts. We were fishing a point and had lines in the water and here comes two paddle boards with two dogs on one board with a woman. Guy on the other board. They paddle between us and that bank - one that my puny arm can hit with a decent cast. She throws a tennis ball in the water and sends the dog swimming. I explain to her that we have hooks in the water and she might not want her dogs swimming. "Oh, we have to get to our dock." I'm thinking, "Lady, you just paddled all around this cove, but you can't be bothered to go a few extra feet behind us?"
  5. Yep, but they're not driving a big go-fast boat. Somewhat safer for us.
  6. Betting that shirt went in the wash as soon as you got home. Lol Guess it could have been worse. Buffalo are really slimy. That's a big boy.
  7. We're used to it in Arkansas. The bridges are no-wake. In fact, when we are at Table Rock, I feel like we're breaking the law running under bridges. Of course, Champ188 always slows down anyway or picks a different spot to pass under the bridge if there is anyone fishing.
  8. Dear lord! Someone NEEDS a $100 purse?!?! I have one $19.99 model I've carried several years now and will continue to carry it as long as it holds out. Rather have fishing tackle or golf gear. Don't laugh, but I bought a small soft tackle bag on sale at Cabela's because I decided it would make a great purse when the one I'm using now wears out.
  9. Nice spot!
  10. Probably not. Guess I should have said "fish from a washtub" not in one. lol
  11. That settles it. Not for us and I'll be swtiched if I'll go fish in a washtub built for two. hehehe
  12. He's a machine. As much as I like rooting for my favorites, It's hard not to get on the bandwagon when he's on a roll. All his actions seem precise, efficient and fast. Very intense. It's obvious he hasn't lost any of his fire. You can see that in the MLF events. Looking forward to watching it later.
  13. Thought it was a 1-iron which seemed way more serious than simple assault with a 9-iron.
  14. Interesting measuring board. Looks like it "cradles" the fish and keeps them off the carpet. Where did you get it?
  15. I'm sure some of it was his because he was bleeding from the bite. Crazy how hard they can chomp.
  16. Beautiful fish. Well done. You'd think a guy that could make flames come out his ears would have the tech savvy to get the right orientation on his pictures. I'm sorry. The devil made me do it. hehehe Good luck on your derbies.
  17. Love that song. moguy1973 kudos to you and keep it up. Lost my daddy when I was only 27. That's been over 35 years ago and I miss him to this day. Some of my most precious memories are those of fishing with my daddy. Keep taking your little girl fishing. I wrote the attached column for the now-defunct "Fishing Magazine" produced by Central Pro-Am to describe my experience and the profound effect it had on me. Ok, now I'm reaching for the Kleenex. 18. Quillback, congrats on the awesome day and sorry about hijacking your thread for swimbait heads and catfish pictures. If our day had been that good and there were more pictures of the right species, I would have totally started a new thread of our own. hehehe
  19. This pic of the cat shows the size better. I promise he was fine and released safely, in spite of the blood. He had the hook on the outside (under his chin) and caused a little bleeding when removed. He headed for the bottom in a hurry when put back in the water. So, what kind is he? Channel?
  20. Here's the catfish I caught on the Keitech using the War Eagle head. Swimbait was still in place. lol I'm not a catfish expert. Channel? Wish we had actually weighed it. We were using the scales to hold him up for the picture. He was heavy, feisty and hard to handle. Bit the crap out of Champ188. He was fishing shallow around buckbrush, so I turned around and threw the swimbait towards the middle of the pocket where we had seen activity. Since they were down at the time, I decided to let the bait sink and slowly swam it just off the bottom. When the cat hit, my brain exploded for 2.3 seconds before I realized it couldn't possibly be a bass. Was fun, though.
  21. Yes. Champ188 got them there. The one in Rogers.
  22. No. It's close, but not the same. See my response to Bill. I just posted pictures.
  23. I'm not using the War Eagle painted dart head, but we have some. The dart heads we have are larger and have two weed guards and as the name describes, are painted. Here's what I'm using with my Keitech. I had a 1/4 oz tied on. I will say there wasn't much catching going on yesterday, so that may be a factor in how well they stay on, but I did throw all day and through some junk and scrubbed on the bottom. I also caught a large channel on it and the swimbait never moved. I'll post a picture of the cat later.
  24. Another option is War Eagle Lures new swimbait head. Single wire guard and a really unique keeper. I fished one all day without a drop of glue.
