  1. I too enjoyed your reports this year, and your easier on the eyes than Babler !
  2. War Eagle spinnerbaits, $6.49 at Table Rock Tackle, $7,99 at Bass Pro.
  3. Brett, 1. I think you can bring as many rods as you want, but would limit it to 4 . 3 baitcasters and a spin. Too many rods just get in your way in the back. You kinda know what the bite might be so plan accordingly. 2. There again you kinda know what the bite might be so be lean and mean. You also need enough room in your soft tackle for raingear, gloves, food ect. 3. Bring what you need to eat and drink, I seldom eat but do drink water. Most will let you use the cooler. 4. Be sure you throw towards the front, not the back. Most will turn around and get you unhung once or twice. Some guys that there pet peeve others dont mind. 5. Best to bring your own vest for fit and comfort. 6. Ask about the net before take off. Some will let you dip there fish others wont. Same with your fish. Know before it happens. 7. I think gas money should be settled before takeoff, so theres no ackward moments. There will a few jerks, but most are a blast to fish with. Some of the so called pros arnt ant any better than you , they just have the money to play with the big boys. . There will be a few that chime in on there thoughts, but that mine.
  4. You have to pay for half the gas in the golf carts !
  5. That is a good idea, but the nonboater should pay the boater instead of the tournament folks having to mess with it.
  6. Have to give Rowland credit for telling what he wanted and expected right off the git go. Not that I am a Rowland fan, and sorry he was a jerk. That stops any ackward moments later in the day . Most boaters are more than happy to give you a fair shake. If the pro or boater has a long run and needs more gas money than is the norm , pay it. Those are his fish he found and hes sharing them with you. I would be more than happy to pay for all there gas, as that would still be cheaper than having to use my boat, (hauling it , oil, wear and tear ect ). Like many sports, its the luck of the draw. Sometimes you draw good, sometimes you dont. I blew a motor years ago around Lunker Landing first thing in the morning, I just dropped the trolling motor and started fishing. I ended up winning the tourny and the nonboater came in second. It was a small 20 boat tourny. After the weigh in the guy asked me for his $10. back that he had given me for gas as we didnt use any gas ! There can be jerks on both ends of the boat.

    Upper End

You said a mouthful right there. Dont know how many blowups I woulda missed if I had been driving fast. That there is a Table Rock fish finding method. Doupt many will heed the advice though.
  8. We have a battery outfitters here in Joplin also. One of the few buisnesses that didnt blow away. 7th and Rangeline behind Target.
  9. I guess after rereading this, you can replace 1 fish, 1 time.
  10. No Cull Rule? July 19, 2011 By ibfishnFrom July 1 through Aug. 31, no angler in Missouri may release bass after putting them in a live well. JEFFERSON CITY-If you think summer is uncomfortable for you, put yourself in a fish's place. Your home heats up, oxygen gets scarce, and there is no air (or water) conditioning or fans to turn on. That is why Missouri fishing regulations prohibit anglers from "culling" during July and August. Culling is the practice of releasing one fish that was caught previously so you can keep a larger one. When anglers put the last fish of their daily limit in a live well, they no longer can keep any fish of that species that day. However, under certain conditions, anglers fishing in tournaments can continue to fish if they stop one fish short of a limit and release a living fish from their live well before replacing it with a fish they just caught. This allows them to "trade up," replacing one fish with a larger one. Tournament bass anglers may cull live bass from September through June. July and August are the months the no culling rule applies. The rule is meant to reduce the number of tournament-caught bass that are subject to higher mortality during the hot summer months. The rule also heightens tournament anglers' awareness of the factors that influence fish mortality. Missouri's limit on black bass is six per day. This includes any bass that are not released immediately, whether they are in live wells for one minute or for eight hours. Once you placed a sixth bass in your live well you may not replace any of the bass with another. However, if you are fishing in a tournament in which the limit is five bass, and you have five bass in the live well, you can replace one fish, one time. If a bass dies in your live well it cannot be replaced with a live one, any time. If you have caught your sixth legal bass and have placed all six fish in your live well for any length of time, you can continue fishing but you must release any bass caught immediately, regardless of size. Fisheries Field Operations Supervisor Kevin Richards said some anglers - and even some tournament officials – are not as familiar with the culling rule as they should be. "Let's think about why Missouri has a no-culling rule in the summer and see if there are ways we can use new tournament formats to increase survival of bass during the hot water months," said Richards.
  11. Good One !
  12. 19 Pounds the first day with 6.2 big bass. 31 pounds total for day two. Winning bag will be caught from Long Creek to Big Indian. Deep diving crankbaits and jig will be the ticket.
  13. Not a balde expert, but on the Rock I seldom use a stinger hook and never use a trailer. Like Champ said : just throw the dad burn thing. I dont burn it, rip it ,wake it , just a nice medium retrieve , and let it fall when needed. Like all baits on the Rock, keep your foot off the troller when the bait is approching the boat, ya never know when they are going to hit it when you are lifting it out of the water. The smallies will either rip your arm off hitting it , or will take a swipe at it and miss, just keep it going like nothing happened and 9 times out of 10 they will hit it again and again. I think they get madder when the miss there meal. The Smallmouth her are the baddest cats in the water and I think they know it. Dont know why I turned this into a Smallie thing ?
  14. If the seller is the true owner, he can apply for a lost title, no big deal. Most of those no title deals are shady at best. I would stay away from it .
  15. Ditto the Hyda Tech. And on that note they told me to start using ring free everytime I gas up.
  16. Had my bites yesterday on the same pattern just no hookups with the good uns. Got short lined and the bigger blacks just come up and suck on it . it was painful for me and my partner, with few sshorts and fewer keepers. And I left the areas I had that held fish and looked for greener pastures. I was amazed at how many boats were out there, it was crazy.
  17. I am boat 20, Champ is 21. We will follow you around and take lessons.
  18. Yep, My son Jason and I are fishing it. James and Donna are fishing it too. Guido and Dion are going to be there too. We get fed after the tournament too.
  19. The Smallie came off a blade, but there is a top bite, but you have to hunt for it.
  20. Ahh, the chewing to look forward to .
  21. Hey ! I aint that old yet, getting close. I might fit the other criteria though. Get Babler, hes old !
  22. http://www.lakesideresort.net/amenities.html
  23. No, you were calling Al out and being the gentleman he is, he responded . Alot of us dont carry cameras with us to document every fish we catch, or cant take a picture as its time consuming by yourself and the need to get the fish back in the water is more important. No river access in Kansas ? I can think of a few, the Arkansas, the Kaw, the Missouri, the Neosho. A picture from a month ago isnt current? Sounds like you are suffering from fish envy.
