  1. It will rain, not sure how much they'll get on the river. Cold snap is not going to help. There will be another day to land another big fish...
  2. Did ya lose a big fish? We've all been there. Lost a really fat brown last year on a Rubber Legs, knot gave out...
  3. Looks like a great day, warm. Wish I was fishing...
  4. Sorry, can't give away my fishing haunts... I'd walk down the trail from Baptist, past the big turn, then work your way back. Or, walk downstream f. TV and work your way back to parking lot. I'm not into upper TV anymore, just my two cents.
  5. Looks like the river did not rise, 172 cfs right now. I'd still wait for Sunday, warmer.
  6. Not looking that good, depends on how much rain, and how the river looks. Streamers might be it, if it's not blowing out. Watch the gauge at Montauk after this blows thru. Sunday might pan out.
  7. Been purposely avoiding Tan Vat, too many people. There's plenty of places to fish, just have to move and be mobile. Browns look very healthy, and, my fishing bud landed a 19" rainbow last Friday or Saturday. Never landed a 'bow that big on the Current. Got my butt handed to me a few 16-18" 'bows though...
  8. There were a few canoes, mostly fisherman who were floating/camping, and a few kayaks. Ran into the same guys downstream, not bad at all. Didn't fish Tan Vat.
  9. Tried the streamer stripping early on, only a few turns, one by a nice brown. Got the nymph rig going later in the AM. Landed a 17" brown on a Rainbow Warrior variation. Also landed quite a few feisty 'bows, many on an Eng Thing. This was below Baptist. Beautiful day, but could have used more clouds. Met a cool fisherman from up north CT way. He had fished the NFOW the day before. I gave him some tips. Went down to Parker's and worked my way upstream, landing an 18" brown and some smaller bows, RW again for the brown, they like... Spring is behind down there, not a lot of buds, a few flowers, water was great.

    Nice brown!
  11. The 'hidden' Clear Cure Hydro...
  12. Deadfall jam at S-Bend, below Baptist, has been washed out and downstream to the big boulder sitting in middle of river.
  13. Had to follow Wise/Spencer/Maxville production w. this from Bozeman...
  14. Normal crossing places are gone where I was below Baptist, the river has changed, which is good...
  15. Nice! Where was this?
  16. Wow! Excellent report. Hope you get the other pic up!
  17. True that. Also, Silvey's caddis pupae...good stuff.
  18. Sleet Day ties from here in SGF. Inspired by Mr. Strolis and Mr. Schmidt.
  19. Got my free swatches coming. Thanks man!
  20. Loved the blog posts, text and pics. That's some mean Double D...wow1
  21. I kind of like the formula, driving--it conveys the anticipation heading to the stream; music selection is personal--don't necessarily like some choices; always like the fish, especially showing the landing; don't mind the dusk shots of fishing either. I can do without the driving home shots though. It takes a lot of creativity to branch out to something different, we're not film makers.
  22. Nice! It's great to create your own pattern and have it work.
  23. OK, I'll ask, what's a hummingbird king?
