  1. I just tried this new stuff : It is recommended for waders and seems to be holding up very well. I used a boot dryer to dry the wader patch tape overnight to get a really good seal. Been holding up quite well now.. 15 trips in and not a leak. But what do you use ? I have tried Aquaseal . the kit that comes with the waders.. years ago I tried duct tape.. but better is Gorilla tape. (but I do not recommend either) Tell us what you have used -- either successfully or unsuccessfully.
  2. Well they shouldnt do it at midnight when I want to night fish. I got down there at 11:40 and was totally geared up by midnight and they blow one short horn... it didnt blow at the boat ramp stack unit... so I thought it was just a slip up as if they were condensing one unit and accidentally let the swtich get " triggered ". Not the case. 4 minutes later this time one long horn at both horns. I called.. 0 units. Called some more.. and some more. By 12:15 it finally did say 1 unit was running... but the water came up only like 4 inches... a flow that I would love during the day - but at night it was odd. Usually when they turn it off at night... it stays off... if it shuts down at 10pm they generally do not turn it back on 2 hours later and run 1/2 a unit for an hour. The fishing was not good for me. I caught 2 fish... but switched flies like 13 times. Couldnt figure anything out. Anyways.. that 25 on the Saturday SWPA chart is odd. What I now need to do is learn to fish it during the day but not at night for the first time. Or just have a different frame of mind for it at night. I wanted low water. I didnt try a sink tip nor do I think it would be necessary... but it was just weird for me ... threw my game off. I called just now and its fully off.. despite the 25 on the webpage. Should have stuck it out I guess.
  3. They have been running 2-3 units all day.. so the projected schedule is just thier 'educated guess'. As always.
  4. John said you guys did pretty good today on the jigs.. who caught the brown ? I plan on meeting up with him tomorrow.. kinda depends on the weather. My bite has been off. They turned off the beetle due to no wind. Only caught about 8 today... and got mighty sunburn.
  5. If you look up the SWPA schedule it says 25... what on earth is 25 ? If 50 is 1 unit and 100 2 units and 150 3 and 200 4... what in the world is 25 ? Methinks its a goof-up. What are they gonna run.. 1/2 a unit ????
  6. What a difference a day makes .... today was nothing like yesterday. I managed around 25 fish in about 3 hours.. but they sure weren't hitting the same. The water came on at 4pm, one unit. Then at 5pm it went to 3 units. Same spot.. same fly... maybe it had something to do with the water being off all night for the first time in a long time. The water is very, very low.. and not too much flow. I wonder why. at 9:12 they are running 3 units - 708.2
  7. I thought it might be interesting to see how many members might respond to an A/O flash mob or what-ever they call it these days, on this site iteself. best yet would be on or at at Taney.... above or below the dam, or another real place. just an idea... Brian
  8. The water was off the entire time I was fishing today... and the wind only helped the fish to decide to eat my fly. The Tuesday schedule looks the same, only they might start a unit up at 5pm -- one hour earlier than today. So check your calendar and the Generation schedule.. 'cause Taney is fishing very good. Above the boat ramp was where I caught around 60 fish in about 4 hours... all on terrestrials; all rainbows. Broke 2 fish off - both over 20 inches. Thanks alot 6X! at 9:53pm tonight they are running 1 unit Cheers, Brian
  9. still looking.. for reasonable pricing as well... thanks
  10. The color of the blank leads me to glass... but the ferrules speak graphite.... hmmm.... Either way, very nice. Brian

  14. Chris - you should do another... that was quite a deal. Any other builds in the works .. perhaps some recent glass ? Nice work by the way.
  15. Glad all is up and running strong again ! I was worried about you there for a little bit... being below near the pathway and what not.
  16. yea.. this kinda looks like taking advantage of the situation a little....
  17. Another link - 65 really good pics : http://www.ky3.com/news/kspr-branson-mo-tornado-pictures-of-storm-damage-in-branson-20120229,0,1584101.photogallery Wayne - I was going by the radio.. they mentioned 76 downtown by the Landing.. thats lower 76 to me. Sorry I wasnt more specific. Anyone heard from Phil yet by the way ?
  18. KOMC reports major damage to the top of 76.. by the Ride the Ducks area. Taco Bell had the windows blown out.. several giant 1940's heavy Water Ducks were overturned. The new Burger Shack is about demolished. It used to be a coffee shop, before that Schlotchkeys. JR's Motor Inn had its entire backside ripped off. And the roof. -- and the Branson schools are now out today... as the busses are assisting other needs. ** and the Kimberling INN is destroyed beyond belief. EDIT - 76 the highway itself is just now being opened to any traffic.. 7:55am - just 76 south to 165. 76 from 65 is totally closed.
  19. First Buffalo got clobbered by a tornado.. reported one fatality. 20+ injured. Crews are working now to find the missing and I hope the early words will be good as this storm passed thru rather early. How very sad. We had plenty of notice here in Branson.. 3 tornado sirens.. then -- it went black. Minor damage to the area... hopefully there are no fatal injuries. Tremendous damage they are saying now. They are discussing the damage now on the radio - lots of roofs blown off and damage to the Kimberling area and Mt. Branson area. Some people trapped. Downtown area of Branson has damage. Hilton has windows blown out. The strip was hammered. Behind Garrs on the strip is demolished. Some Cliff Rd houses are wiped out. Lots of lower 76 is wiped out. Phil and his family live pretty much underneath this area by land.... man I hope they are all OK. I live on the north side of town and missed this one my a mile or two. The roof was ripped off from the Candlestick Inn... a roof I can, or cannot any longer see out my back window. Let's hope this isnt anything... just a " less than class EF1.. but strong straight line winds"... No major inuries reported... a dozen or so at the hospital. Keep hope for them. Current links : http://www.ky3.com/n...0,3959664.story http://ozarksfirst.c...t?nxd_id=610612 EDIT - T Hwy got nailed. That is awful. T32 and Taneycomo Highlands have plenty who live there. I wonder how other local areas made it.
  20. Fall Creek Marina

  24. Good on ya man.. you deserve it ! What a BONUS though to get 2 instead of just the 1... I sure hope she likes to kayak :-) great post - Brian
  25. I remember a time seeing carp by the hundreds at Beaver Creek .. spawning.. right off Slough Hollow. (off Fisherman's Nose really; in the grass) Seeing so many giant lumbering carp in the shallowest of shallows seemed unfair.. like I would hook up or more to the point foul hook one on every cast. So I just watched them.... plus the road to get in to them was under water. Or I might have tried.
