Use Stanley's Ice Off paste.. it works amazingly well (and is totally safe on fly lines). Loon Outdoors sells it. I do know of guys using Chap-Stik, but not me. I have only used Stanley's.

dgames - I know what you mean... I spent some money with them, then called back the next morning to make sure I could add to the order if that hadnt already shipped it out... Which they had not shipped. Nice. They are cool folks.

Guys - I wouldn't use anything that has been mentioned so far during this conversation except soap and water. Aside form Ivory soap.. I use GLIDE. It is amazing stuff. Lasts a good long while too. Anyone reading this - please do not use 95% of the items mentioned. fw, please tell you were speaking in jest ?!?! (Vasoline, vegetable oil, or hand lotion)

I have heard of people using Pledge to clean/dress a line... but wow.. Scotch Guard ?! I understand the floating characteristics.. but that is stout chemical stuff, to strong on a fly line. Good post.. hopefully it will prevent someone else from doing it.

I just got off the phone with the operator... he told me the rumors of dumping 10 feet of water to get to 905 are false. He also said that once they get under 915 they should be scaling back this constant high water. Shutting down at night. He also told me that as of NOV they are operating Bull Shoals, Norfork and Greers Ferry dams all thru Table Rock. So those dams are now unmanned. Cool huh.

I just bought this book : Got off the eBay for 20 bucks shipped. Its a large heavy book and abebooks.com had it for much more, 36 plus shipping. I cannot wait to read it... I have a friend who was lucky enough to pick up 3 of his old Sci-Ang glass fly rods... sheesh! A complete history of the patterns and intelligence on how to fish them... priceless. Lots of color plates and old tying instruction of pure know-how. Sounds like a blast.

Wow... pretty surprising the breakdown as to where the stuff is headed. I sure wouldn't want to be the one who finds anything gross like body parts wash up, but you would think fish would take care of that.

Quick question - can you fish outside the park any old time you want ???? Any day or time or season ? It doesn't have to be a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday does it ?

I would advise to fish the 3 outlets... also completely across from chute3 on the other side of the river can be fun fishing. You should check the LT upper end maps that Phil has made for this site. They are pinned at the top of this page. ( also, hope and prey for 2 units or less / keep those fingers crosses )

Nah Phil, they won't have any answers for me I haven't already heard.... It just chaps me that they have what could really be a utilized feature of SWPA but they choose not use it to its fullest potential. In the end, I guess they just do not want to be sued... hence the 'canned ' disclaimer.

Why has the schedule been exactly the same for like a week now ? Is it going to be like this on New Years Day ? It ' projects ' 150 Mega Watts to be ran til noon.. then shut down by half to 75MW (shutting down from 2 units to 1 units). They are screaming 4 units full blast right now... 710.2 lake level is them running a ton of water, not 150MW - its 320MW!! It hasn't happened as they have projected one time - not one day of the entire week last week was even close. Why even have the darn thing if it is ALWAYS wrong ??? what a teaser... what a steaming pile of you know what !
