Tackle Warehouse Circuit. 7 graphs on some of these boats.
Bill Babler replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
He mentioned in one of them that Lowrance had supplied them for both he and DC. Not sure about MDJ he is part of that rat pack but I think he is a solid Garmin guy. -

Good stuff 24/7. Being layed up here at the house in a non-walking cast I been watching a lot of videos. Got 10 dozen flies tied so I'm pretty bored. Been watching planes take off and land with absolutely no help from the pilot. He or she now can just let a navigation computer either take off or land a small plane. -

Totally a different generation. Some of these guys are so tech savvy, they could go to work for Apple, IBM or Dell, and not miss a beat. And then some of them are J.T. Kenny. 😆 I will flat guarantee you Jacob Wheeler knows what every button or dial does and probably has invented functions that both Lowrance and Garmin had no idea the units would perform. Skeet is still running 1 unit on the bow and 2 up top and he had his console unit shut off. He has simply caught their rear on a jerk bait. This is a continuation of what he was doing and how he was fishing when the BPT was here earlier. I like electronic but this seems like an arms race. -
JD, I don't think MDC is a major contributor to the walleye population in Table Rock. I think they have been more of a factor to a lesser extent in Bull Shoals. I know they assist to a point, but AFG is the driving factor from what I understand for the Rock.
-
Starting 3 years ago it became more than common knowledge that the fishery was vastly improving for walleye. Not much of a secret anymore especially with the number of crawler fishermen we have for spotted bass here, you are naturally going to catch them. What truly amazed me is their over the entire water column. Sometimes suspended under deep docks, sometimes suspended at the thermocline, or on the bottom at most any depth. Really not a wrong pattern. Bo wanted a stocking program for bass on Table Rock for most of his life and never got it. Arkansas stocking walleye up the river systems has shown that walleye stocking works. I think they still say natural recruitment is close to zero, so I'm sure happy with AFG putting them in the Rock.

One of out top local guides had a 30 plus walleye day earlier this week. Keeper after keeper up to 6 lbs and said his clients lost at least 1/2 a dozen big keeps 5 pounds or over at the boat. Said they were on a short string being so shallow they just had to much poop and his guys would just horse them. Told them to slow down at least a dozen times but they just tried to winch them in. All were released. Deepest fish at 15' with most coming at 8/13 feet, all on crawlers. He simply could not believe how shallow. Came out of the Shell Knob area, on a drop shot. Said he was sure you could have casted to them but when in Rome. Good Luck

My BKD and Schwab investments are making over 12% so really we could care less about IRA'S and CD early withdraw penalties that are now making a whopping 0.37% Thanks for the advice all she got it all transferred this morning after 5 months. And, yes she did threaten them. They said they were just under staffed. BS.

Don’t Use Beaver Fever Fishing Guides in Arkansas
Bill Babler replied to Jeffrey S's topic in Beaver Lake
If I were to go striper fishing at 2pm on Beaver lake In mid July my expectations would be a sunburn. Your right on the unprofessionalism but for gosh sakes you have the wallet and you said yes. Lets end this here. -
Don’t Use Beaver Fever Fishing Guides in Arkansas
Bill Babler replied to Jeffrey S's topic in Beaver Lake
Here is the deal. Took me 5 different trips with 3 different guides on Beaver before the boat even got a bite, going at prime time in prime season. Not here to criticize anyone of them except on their honesty. When your striper fishing on beaver there is a real possibility of failure. They kind of lead you on that success is inevitable, and nothing could be further from the truth. You have a shot at a big fish. Not you really, but the boat. Pick your season and Jeffery, I'm going to put this on you. Do some research, never should have went fishing for any species at 2 in the afternoon. That's on you. Period, no excuse. Arkansas needs to square themselves away, not a person anywhere should be guiding without a federal ticket, not just a slip of paper you buy at Wal-Mart, cause you decided you have a tub and want to be a guide. There has been several nightmare stories this year reported on the White River down there with just about the same story Jeffery just posted. Crappy guide, crude boats and broken and used fishing gear. There are so many trips now that every Moe and Joe can use his unlicensed brother in law to take trips. Doesn't matter to Moe or Joe cause he doesn't have a license anyways. Really have not seen this in Missouri as even the new guys and there are some all have Federal Licenses, insurance and seem to have excellent boats and equipment and plenty of knowledge to use it. The resorts and Marinas demand it here as does every state BUT Arkansas. I love our brothers to the South in Arkansas, but its time for them to become professional or someone needs to get them off the water. -
Totally understandable, but I think we're in the minority on this deal.
-
Wrench, what has impressed me is his open water knowledge. I heard him say in one of his vids that he believes only 10% of crappie live on structure. He employs tons of open water techniques that we all could follow, just takes a set up. Guy, has forgot more about catching crappie than the majority of us will ever know. I traced the path he was fishing in Rainey this Spring with the spider. Also he has shot a ton if stuff in Procter Creek.

We have signed every transfer request and today the folks at Schwab, called Becky for some more help. Said they had never been thru this. Academy would not budge. On a portion of it today at after 6pm this evening Becky got them to transfer sime of the CD’s to her money market acct at Academy. They fought with her for an hour telling her how much money she would lose with the early withdraw. Big butt deal at .45% She still has to call again tomorrow to work on the IRA stuff. Never bank with these people regardless of any rates they are offering. Been a total nightmare
-
Quill were these surfacing fish or did you just work them up? Guys at the dam are catching about that number, with some chasing early the same location on crawlers. Almost all on gravel thanks nice report and pics.

A few years ago Academy Bank in Branson had some super good IRA and regular CD rates. Since, that time, they have came down and we have moved all our liquid assets to BKD and Charles Swaubb. We have been trying since March to get these assets transferred and Academy will not give them up. They put us on hold for hours at a time, refer us to department after department and in the end they still have the money, which is substantial and not making squat with them while our BKD portfolio is blowing up. Becky has spent another 3 hours today on this along with our other advisor and they just will not transfer the assets. Is it time for legal help or any ideas would be appreciated.

Dude has professional equipment is excellent with all forms of electronics and from a guides stand point absolutely knows where fish live in all seasons. He has paid the dues and put it out there for everyone to see. Dude is not a guide but a federal license is all he needs and he would be a 2 trip a day guy for as many days a year as he wants. Has the perfect personas and temperament for the job. Excellent educator and there are multiple tips in every video to make you a better fishermen. You all need to watch him tear up both Lake O. And Truman. Crappie, Blues, Whites any season, he is totally all over them and gives it all to you at no cost, and in lay persons terms on equipment, patterns and how to in every video. I’ve been following him for years but he has really stepped on the gas this year and his content is amazing. Good Luck
-
For you guys living or fishing on either Truman or lake O. Please tell me you are watching Mike Baker videos. That guy is putting crappie in the boat on either pond at ridiculous numbers. His longline trolling technique with either cranks or jigs is something to see. Set up cost is going to be several hundred, but this method is not going away so once you purchase the hardware your probably set for life. Check him out if trolling and catching a ton of fish is your bag.

Garmin Force trolling motor - pros and cons?

Not sure knocking 2 years off a warranty would be worth that. Glad it worked out for you and hope it stays healthy. -
Garmin Force trolling motor - pros and cons?
Bill Babler replied to buckcreekmike's topic in Table Rock Lake
Bobby, call Scott at Marine Repair center and see if they might get you done quicker. They just do electronic and trolling motors and may not have a 100 boats in front of you. Probably still at least 3 weeks out but I’d try them. Ulrich Marine won’t care they are completely covered up. Great folks and I’m sure Kelly would not mind you switching if you could get back on the water sooner. Great team over there, that’s why they are so busy. My trout boat is sitting at their shop and it’s been there2 weeks with multiple issues. It will be done depending on parts on August 20th. Good Luck -
Great post Dave. I total forgot that the Lowrance at least have to be Carbon or newer to be symbiotic with the new system. That was one reason I went with the Garmin as mine were Gen III and would not work, so I just opted for the total Garmin system Thanks
-
The Lowrance allows you to put the starter button on either side if that is a factor. Both work great for maneuvering the boat. Not at all like the old wireless. Either motor retracts and deploys with 1 tenth of the effort it take with the Ultrex. That means so much to me as I continue to mature. Both are super quiet in operation. Hard choice, sure depends on the electronics brand that you said doesn't matter.

Take him to the Doggie spa for the day. He could get a Manny and a peddy.

Well put James. I just loved his pictures of rain run off fishing. He had that deal dialed in for sure. Black/blue jig and craw. Along with the bass he sure caught the beejeebers out of the whites on those spoons. Lots of us are this or that or we prefer to catch them this way or that way. Bo could do it anyway, deep or shallow. He had as much passion for night fishing as anyone I can ever remember and was tremendous at it. He sure didn't like folks strolling a jig or C-rig and that was his prerogative. He caught them like he wanted to but a dollar to a donut he could catch them better than most could fishing the way they wanted to. If that makes sense. Many times I private message him for some advice and he answered as best he could every time. Don't know weather he and Beck had ever had a run in, but there seemed to be an uneasiness there, also with several of the Shell Knob locals. He was nothing but kind to me. I'll truly miss him.

Had the same deal happen to the Minn Kota charger that came with my boat. Took it over to Battery Outfitters and they installed a Genius. Had it 6 months and it went out. They put in another one and its worked fine the last two years. Also had a Genius on my trout boat. It went out but Battery Outfitters put me a new replacement on, no charge and it has been fine the last 4 yrs. In speaking with the local Pro's most don't have on board chargers, but big plug ins. I'm hearing really good things however about the Power Pole charge system. No bad stuff at all except the price. Bill Beck always told me the biggest piece of junk on any boat was an on board charger and he never had one, that I can remember.

Garmin Force trolling motor - pros and cons?
Bill Babler replied to buckcreekmike's topic in Table Rock Lake
It's totally different feature. Both my water seal and the anti-bounce were installed by MRC after I had, had the motor for a while. There were bullets on it emailed to me from Garmin. The parts for the upgrade were also sent to me, without charge and even without asking. If you have one of the older motors that needed the upgrade parts I'm sure you would have gotten the bulletin. I took the parts up for the scheduled repairs and told them to install any updates at that time, that was May of 2020 and its worked perfect. At that time Garmin had just been hacked and the Active Captain was not working properly. They told me at MRC if I get updates they need to install them for me free if charge, but would not mess with it except if a repair was needed. They neither installed it or was it purchased from them, they are just my repair center. I've been told at least a dozen times by people that know to not mess with the Active Captain or I would regret the day I logged on. So I don't, and everything is great. I will also say this, I don't care if I have a small air leak around a home window, I don't care if a door drags a little bit when its humid outside. I don't really sweat small stuff. If you do or you are a guy that likes to tinker or just have it flawlessly perfect. I don't know what to tell you as I'm not that way. That being said, my Garmin is flawlessly perfect.
