  1. There are a lot of shad in the White channel above the Kings. It's as many as I have ever seen, but the old timers may have seen more at some point in the past. Should not be seeing too many skinny bass.
  2. I did pretty well on tubes last winter on Table Rock. The A-rig is usually catching fish then also, I don't fish it, but guys that do pull in some fish. Jerk bait bite may be on that time of year, but you never know until you get out there and fish.
  3. Well we can't do this without you - so weekend of the 13th of December?
  4. Just to throw some dates out there - How about the weekend of December 6? First weekend after Thanksgiving.
  5. Here's a link to the results for day 1, looks like some tough fishing. http://webboutdoors.com/day-1-championship-results/?utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=twitterfeed
  6. Yeah I'm thinking that would probably would have been smart to try, the SB or a square bill. But it was fun throwing the buzzer. Might have tried downsizing the bait also, but I only have a couple of buzzers and they are all 1/2 oz. Buzzfrog like a Zoom Horny Toad may have worked also. Looks like I have some stuff to try out next time.
  7. LOL, let the rebuilding begin!
  8. I'm open as far as dates, I do like the November/December time frame as the fish sure were biting and as Kyle said, the river was wide open.
  9. They are choking, Red Sox beat them with Napoli, Pedroia, Ortiz, and Holt out of the lineup.
  10. Good deal!
  11. Forgot to say, I saw Mr. Babler out there today and talked to him for a minute. You have to like a guide that goes out on his day off to find fish for his clients that he'll be guiding the next few days.

Didn't take long for this thread to go down the "you said" rat hole.
  13. Cold, cloudy, breezy day today - the kind that says top water. I fished a black War Eagle buzz bait all day and caught 10 bass, 2 were keeper largemouth. Had a weird day, probably missed 25-30 bites on the buzzer. They would swirl at it, I'd feel them, and they'd get off. Had a good sharp trailer hook on the buzzer, but still missed a lot of fish, I can't explain it except I'm thinking they just weren't eating it like they should. Frustrating, should have swung at least 20 into the boat. Fish were shallow for the most part, back in the coves. Pockets and little point type structure were where they were at. I think a spinner bait would have worked, I was just having too much fun (in spite of the misses) fishing the buzzer, so I stuck with it. Water temp 79.
  14. It does seem it could be rough on the fish. Don't know what happens to them after the weigh-in, maybe they have some sort of tank truck they can haul them back to the lake in. I can't see the anglers taking them back.
  15. 8 years here and have yet to be checked.
  16. BTW the editor made me use "azz" - take out the 2 z's and substitute 2 s's
  17. I was in the Army, but "squared away" is one phrase that I remember. One I have never heard outside of the Army was "case of the azz". If someone was mad they had a "case of the azz". But that was 35 years ago.
  18. Let's hope, Royals bats have been dead, they need a shut out lately to win.
  19. Shields and the relief staff shut out the Tigers last night. Tonight they face the Red Sox with Bucholz pitching, Bucholz has been pitching well the last 2 games, this could be a tough one.

Maybe this cold front will get them moving.
  21. Yeah I don't see why he would have covered it up, makes no sense.
  22. Yep Calipari is a master of working the system. Makes a mockery out of the whole student-athlete thing, he's basically running an NBA prep school.
