  1. I have some, mainly used to use them trolling for crappie, and would get bass on them also. I'm sure a guy could get bit on them when the crank bait bite is on. So many brands of cranks out there.
  2. Good to hear of some jig fish.
  3. Not a bad day at all. How many other boats were on the lake?
  4. Good to see the Crawler in action.
  5. That makes sense, probably should just leave it in place, maybe shake it a bit after one of those drive-bys. Lesson learned for next time.
  6. He really is fishing fast, Shaw Grigsby is fishing real slow, dropping the power poles, hitting every thing within range, then moving a few feet and dropping the poles again. I have to top watching and get out and get some stuff done. The live coverage is fun to watch.
  7. Raining like a son of a gun down there.
  8. Great photo!
  9. I don't know if it is top 30 or 50, but some of the field gets eliminated. McClelland is 8 lbs. back, he needs a real good day tomorrow. 8 lbs. usually is not a lot on day 3 of a tourney, but this one looks to be fishing small as far as size of the fish. Aaron Martens is #2 in the standings, watch out for him, that guy is a good fisherman.
  10. Yes sir you are right, I didn't mean to make it sound like a bad day. But it was a bit slower than I expected, I really thought we would get into them and get more in the 30-40 range. When things are right, there are people that catch 50- 75 bass a day on these things. The fish were squirrely yesterday, both of us had quite a few bites where the fish would tap it and then drop it. Could've been bream or small bass, but there were a couple of times we'd get that tap, it would get dropped, and after moving it a bit, we'd catch a bass.
  11. Sounds like those crazy pre-dawn boat rides those eastern Arkansas duck hunters do in those public green timber hunting spots. Except the Arkansas guys don't have to dodge gators.
  12. Went fishing with board member Huntest today, had a great time, Dave is a good man to fish with. Fishing was tough, we caught about 20 with a half dozen keepers or so. All Ned fish. Could not get a deep bite going, I'd say everyone we caught was in 10 feet or less. Many of the fish were back in the coves, grouped up on points. Kind of strange, but a couple of our best spots were points or nearby banks with little to no cover and gravel bottom. Water is brown from about point 23 to the mouth of the Kings, it may extend further down lake, but we did not go past the mouth of the Kings. Water temps were 48-51.
  13. Looks like conditions are tough down there. Good to see McClelland is in contention.
  14. Arkansas survived. So did NC who the Hogs will play next. Lots of close games Thursday with some upsets.
  15. Ketchup - I believe Phil Lilley provided the scales, send him a PM.
  16. These look sweet, don't know if I would ever buy one unless they are like $10 or so. http://www.westernbass.com/forum/new-abt-wagtail-swimbait-t94367.html
  17. Northeastern almost pulled off the upset against 3 seed Notre Dame, had the ball, down 2, with 2 seconds left but turned it over. But, 2 other 3 seeds knocked out - Iowa St. and Baylor.
  18. Good deal. I am looking forward to getting back out on that lake.
  19. I haven't been over there for years, but I'll be interested to hear how you do.
  20. I can believe it, looks like I'll be out there tomorrow.
  21. It's up to 914, but looks like they are running water like crazy so maybe it has peaked for now. But, more rain in the forecast next week. I'd like to see 917, that would put it up in the buck brush.
  22. Cool, I may do a little watching. Looks like a fog delay right now.
  23. Forgot to add Northeastern to the list, that's where I went to school. I don't know anything about their team. Northeastern BB had a brief moment of glory when Reggie Lewis played for them back in the early 80's. Fell one point shy of making the sweet 16 in 1984.
  24. I've been following the Zags since I lived in Washington State. They always did well in the tourney when they were the underdog. Lately they have lost the underdog label and since losing it, they always disappoint. This year I have confidence in them, they've got size up front and capable guards. I'm not picking them to win, but I think they can go deep. I'd like to see Eastern WA play the Cinderella role. Arkansas has a shot to win a couple of games. They should beat Wofford to bring on a likely match with North Carolina. If they play well, they can beat NC. My dad went to Wichita State, so I will pull for them. Used to live in the Northeast during the 80's when the Big East was one of the top BB conferences in the country. Good to see Providence in the dance. Usually by the time we get to the final four, any teams I am rooting for are knocked out.
  25. Works of art, they are, and I am not exaggerating.
