Yes it should be good for the lake, I'm just hoping it doesn't turn to chocolate milk. Might get the bass back into the bushes where they are easier to catch.

Just looked at the gauge, lake has shot up about a foot and still rising.

When the trial starts, they'll have the "good guy" dressed in a suit with a nice haircut. He'll look like a respectable local businessman. The crazy looking dude in the mug shot will be nowhere to be found.

I'll drive over the creek later this morning and see what's going on. Catfish should be biting on the BV lakes where the creeks come in.

Almost 919 now and they are running a lot of water out the dam. Unbelievable the amount of rain we're getting.

I get up this morning, check the weather report on Weather.com and watch the radar. Forecast says no rain south of I-44, radar doesn't show any rain except north of 44. Make the drive over, fish about an hour and a half, and in comes the rain. Rained off and on, mostly on, for the rest of the morning. Heavy rain with some lightning. Got tired of hiding in dock stalls or in my truck, called it quits at 11 AM. There was a decent topwater bite whenever there was a 10 minute window in between downpours, also picked a few up swimming a Keitech. Nothing of any size however.

Yeah it's not good for Manziel, but he's going to need a time machine to go back and fix things. I don't think he'll be dropping out, he's going to get Kicked out..

He's eligible for the 2014 draft, and he was a redshirt freshman. There's also the CFL.

A&M has hired a law firm for Johnny. This could go places the NCAA doesn't want it to go.

Just watched the show, Christie was flippin bushes just about the whole time up the Elk river.

It's dropped almost to normal level, up from the low flow we were seeing before the rain, but not what I would call high. Water is stained somewhat also.

Yeah it makes sense to leave at least the ramp open. They are still going to have to pay for upkeep and maintenance and enforcement of parking permits.

Next year maybe? All indications are that he would play this year and jump.

Hard spanking will just send him to the NFL. That's another problem with NCAA "justice", the players just move on, in the case of the star players just jump to the NFL. Meanwhile the school and it's fans are stuck with the sanctions.

Could be a rat out there. It's not good for NCAA football to have them ban Johnny. Like the guy or not, he'll put fans in the stands and generate TV viewership.

So much depends on the jury and the quality of the attorneys on both sides.

Of course the NFL will have to participate in this new league concept. Or the NFL could start drafting high school seniors, like MLB does. The NFL could set up a minor league, teams draft HS kids and put them in the minor league for development. Kids drafted would then have a choice, sign a contract to play in the minor league/NFL or accept a scholarship and play college ball. Pretty much how college baseball works now.

Just re-read my post, I meant to say coming out of high school into the new league. If the NCAA doesn't get their act together, I could see something like this happening. As I said before there's just too much money sloshing around.

That would be interesting, a private football league for kids coming out of college.

Yeah I would like to see Johnny Football play against Alabama. It will be a bummer if he gets benched. NCAA is going to have to do something as far as players being able to make money off their images. There's just too much money sloshing around college football, players are going to want some of it.
