  1. It's a good time of the year to drift fish for blue cats if you're into that.
  2. Lost a tough one on Saturday and got beat again yesterday. Miguel Cabrera hit a walk off Saturday, and another one yesterday. One of Cuba's top players has apparently defected, maybe the Royals will sign him? Yeah right....
  3. I sent off an off color MB 110 I didn't like and an RC STX off to Tim Hughes to have repainted in Norman Flake (Tim does an awesome Norman Flake BTW). When I got them back it was extremely difficult to tell them apart, the guys who make the STX either stole some molds from Megabass, or they did an exact copy.
  4. So if I create an organization called "Dogs are great" and have as the only member of that organization, my dog. Is my dog now a "Person"? And what the heck is a "Legal Entity"? Again, using the dog argument, since my dog is licensed, is he now a "Legal Entity"?
  5. Glad to hear they found him. I did not realize he was wearing a weight belt, I believe he was "free diving" - without tanks. I heard about that other drowning also, it's a shame for sure. Beaver can be a killer, seems there's 4 or 5 drowned every summer.
  6. A nice mess of crappie!
  7. Looks like a great time, considering it's mid-August you done good.
  8. Welcome! Hopefully you'll let us know how your trip to The Rock to fish the PAA turns out. Good luck BTW.
  9. This is the only report I know of. There's a tackle store right in downtown Grove, I think those folks could at least give you a general idea about what's going on with the whites. http://grandfishingreport.com/pgs/reports/reports.htm
  10. I got my crappie fillets in the freezer from a trip to Sardis last month with my uncle. I like a fish fry, but only once every two months or so. Those suspended bass are tough for us cast and retrieve types. Are you seeing any worthwhile top water activity? Didn't see much top water activity at LB north.
  11. We poked around deep some, just couldn't get them going. I think next time on Beaver it may be time to fish around mid lake brush piles with the drop shot.
  12. I would register my monkeys, but do the authorities realize what a pain it is to go out in the woods and round up 45 chimpanzees? I'm calling the legislature and see if I can get this overturned.
  13. Looks like the charge is 2nd degree murder.
  14. Just when I get down on them, they take 2 from the Tigers in a doubleheader.
  15. Fished out of Jeb's boat today, I was telling him I believe the fish can read the calendar because they bit like it was August in spite of the 78 degree water. We got 5 bass between the two of us on t-rigged plastics and jigs. We fished a lot of different structure from shallow to deep, bluff walls, fronts of coves, backs of coves, and the middle of coves, just not much going on. Lots of young shad swimming around, the water in some of the coves around Indian creek is stained from the rains. Saw lots of striper boats out there between LB North and the dam.
  16. I didn't see you or I would have stopped by to say hi. Or else I saw you and it did not register, hard to say.
  17. Good question, I could see this being something you could market to bass fishermen also, I've watched many a tourney on TV where those guys are measuring bass.
  18. Read in the paper today that starting in 2014, there will be no minimum size limit for spotted bass in Beaver lake.
  19. Welcome! There's a forum for the Illinois, looks like some helpful posters that monitor that forum, I'm sure that if you post your questions there you'll get some good advice. http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/forum/142-upper-and-lower-illinois-river-ok/
  20. The Royals are in a bit of a slump, lost 2 out of 3 to the Marlins and got beat 4-1 by the Tigers last night. All of a sudden they can't score runs.
  21. Yeah I agree it's not easy, we covered a lot of water, fished quite a few different baits. The fish that bite aren't hammering it either, didn't have much of a problem with fish swallowing baits, most were lip hooked. Lots of 1 inch shad and they are everywhere from the backs of the coves out onto the main lake, but mostly close to the bank. You'd think the bass would be feeding on those shad, but we didn't see much surface activity at all besides gar and carp flopping around. I'll bet if there's a tournament this weekend that has some good local sticks, someone will bag a 15 - 20 lb. limit. Seems like there's always some guys that can get a big sack, and I tip my hat to them.
  22. I've had good luck with the plug knocker on jerkbaits, I spooled the line that comes with the plug knocker to an old Penn 310, and mounted it on a stout halibut rod that I cut down to the first eyelet.
  23. Good point, get the hook out, then measure.
  24. Glad to see you come back and defend your product, but to see it in action will be good. Until then I'll stick with my plastic POS, works well unless you're an uncoordinated dork.
  25. My fishing buddy Jeb is back in town, so we decided to give the White channel a shot again today. Best bite was on the deep end of points, anywhere from 15 to 30 FOW. Drop shotting Finesse worms and c-rigging Speed craws were the best baits. We got somewhere around 25 for the morning, maybe half dozen keepers, nothing over 2 lbs. Mostly spots. Had to fish a lot of points the fish were scattered and we'd pick up a few off each point, didn't see many schooling fish on the finder. Fished some bushes and chunk rock banks, could not get anything going on that kind of stuff. Water temp 80.
