  1. Glad to hear you got into them, I guess that fish that you caught twice is a sucker for Roadrunners!
  2. It's definitely a flawed product with the replacement refs. But as long as fans fill the stadiums and watch the games on TV, the owners have no reason to settle with the refs. But, I have to think they'll resolve this soon, imagine a Super Bowl with these replacement refs - that could be ugly.
  3. Thanks for the report, interesting reading. A tourney with 3,000 anglers, wow, lake might be a tad crowded that weekend.
  4. Pigsticker makes jigs, here's a link to their site: http://www.pigstickerbait.com/index.html
  5. Nice smallie! Thanks for the report.
  6. Yeah but you've got to spend your money wisely, if you don't, you end up having a season like Arkansas. Too bad for you Mizzou guys that you don't get to play the Razorgirls this year.
  7. Nothing like walking into your house and getting a lungful off DDT, but I guess it beats getting malaria.
  8. I've fished with several guides in the Pacific Northwest for salmon and steelhead, and the good ones are like Bill. The boat's clean and organized, the rods are rigged are ready to go, and when you get to the spot you start fishing. Nothing worse than a guide that starts off the day rigging rods and rooting around the boat looking for hooks or whatnot.
  9. Started off really slow, threw some topwaters, jigs, and squarebills and got zilch on that stuff. Wind started picking up later in the morning, so I worked windy banks with a spinner bait, got 2 doing that, one was a nice meanmouth around keeper size. Whitecaps were rolling over a couple of my go to Drop shot spots, so didn't try those spots, but on the way back to the dock I decided to graph a gravel cove mouth that I had tried a couple of times in the past but never had any luck on. Spotted some shad balls in 20-25 FOW, so got out the drop shot and had a decent bite, landing maybe 10, one nice 16" spot, the rest 10-12" fish. Broke off a good 2 lb or so fish at the boat, and had one swim off pulling drag that came unpinned so seemed to be some nicer fish in the area. All were really light biters, probably had another 10 or so that came off. Water temps 74-75. Lots of shad and minnows out there, on the banks, in the coves, in the backs of coves, around docks, and out in the deep water. Seems they are everywhere. But really saw hardly any bass chasing them.
  10. It's the home of the Green Lantern.
  11. This topic could open a can of worms... Personally I don't see either one of them as being a strong advocate for sportsmen.
  12. Excellent, thanks for the report! I might be out there Wednesday myself.
  13. Thanks for the report, glad to see you folks got into them.
  14. Sounds like some good fishing out there, I hope I can get out later this week.
  15. Cloudy, cool, light wind - looks like a good morning for topwaters, anyone throw them this morning? I can't get out today, but it sure looks good for fishing.
  16. At this point, I don't like the odds. If the guy gets out then look out wife #5. Hard to believe that the dude can find another gal willing to get hitched, but he'll find one. Take out a big life insurance policy on her.
  17. I didn't think things could get any worse, then I saw this video...
  18. I'm on the shelf right now and can't get out, but yesterday I was thinking that with the front moving in and the bluebird skies it would be tough out there.
  19. Once i get back out on the water (hopefully in a couple of weeks) I plan on throwing some around. Reports are that people are getting some fish on cranks.
  20. Welcome!
  21. Wow, I've seen some that would go 1.5 lbs, which are huge, but over 5 lbs. is amazing. Looks as if he probably kept it, which is his right, but it looks healthy and it makes me wonder if released how much more growth potential there was.
  22. Just finished reading Fields of Blood, The Prairie Grove Campaign - Written by William L. Shea, University of AR history professor. He also co-authored a book about the Pea Ridge campaign which I have read. Good books both of them. Shea does a good job of profiling the personalities involved both military and civilian and describing events leading up to the battles. Even though there are maps in the book, it helps to have a detailed map available to follow troop movements.
  23. First half was good. At least you Mizzou fans can console yourselves with the fact that you lost to a good football team. We won't talk about what happened to the so called "football team" that wears the Arkansas uniform.
  24. Yep, just a lot of speeches with zero content.
  25. Circumstantial evidence has put quite a few mobsters away. Those guys are good at making people disappear.
