  1. Any word on how their meeting went on HB955?
  2. Just left message with my State Rep. and talked to the secretary of my State Senator. The Senators office said this bill is pretty far down the line as far as any action taking place and I took that to mean it is close to being voted on.Don't know what Rep. Ross has "against" or "for" his sportsmen in his representative district but wouldn't want him representing me on anything.
  3. WOW!
  4. Logged on the website and voted and then joined the CFM. Not that much if it will help quell the elected officials from disrupting our great opportunities outdoors.Spend that much when I take Miss Susie and her mother out to eat!
  5. Anybody on the forum live in these districts represented by the Senators and Representatives sponsoring these bills? I now receive weekly e-mail updates from my State Senator on the goings on in Jefferson City.Saw on Mr. Munzlinger's page that his office wouldn't respond to e-mails from folks outside his district.Probably enough sportsmen and women on the forum to catch the attention of all of our elected officials if we send them an e-mail,note or call their office.
  6. Nitroman, just think, she is watching down on her loved ones thinking "it's really cold back home".Prayers for all who loved her and for the one's she loved.
  7. Your Uncle and I and some of our cronies fall into that "oaf" category!
  8. Have a bigger group lined up to go this year.Five for sure and possibly two more depending on the weather.Last year only had 3 total so that left us with a lot of extra beds but the weather on the 2nd day encouraged our quick departure.Hopefully it will be decent weather and fish but we have a good time either way. We always toast the guys who were opening day regulars who have passed .Lots of great memories of those guys from the last 38 years we fished together.
  9. Owners have been gone for 3 months and have a family member that has been running it thru the winter months.Don't understand either not wanting the business-they don't have but about half of the resort open. Not a big place parking wise for trailers, etc.
  10. Did get an e-mail from the State Senator late last week and he also stated he opposes any bill that negatively affects our hunting and fishing programs.
  11. Great colors on those fish-bead head or small jig in the lip of the fish in the first picture?
  12. Already got a response from the State Reps. office and she is against any proposal or bill that affects eliminating funds for the MDC.
  13. Just sent e-mails to the local reps. in the House and Senate expressing my concerns on the 2 bills mentioned.Took the guy who is the State Senator trout fishing years ago at Montauk and went to school with the State Reps. parents.
  14. Another great video-always enjoy watching and learning your use of different materials. Thanks!
  15. Thanks for the report Rick,I caught a mixed bag last Friday at Maramec. You had a better size in your fish as I had a 12" smallmouth,25-30 average size trout and a couple of small minnows. The ones that makes it appear you are fishing with minnows for bigger fish instead of just catching them.
  16. Great job boys and Dad for taking them.
  17. Fished Maramec Friday along with old college baseball buddy Jerry Pike and about another 40 people.Beautiful day with people picnicking and kids playing.Didn't appear to be as many fish but probably ended up with 50 trout between us plus one 12" smallmouth.Saw 3 big fish including one brown that approached double digit size ut was above the cable in the upper end.Don't know if they did a second stocking at the first of the new year.
  18. Enjoyed the show-always like the beauty of the browns from the Current River.
  19. Interesting with the music- made me laugh!
  20. Wear a buff around the neck and face that is a brown trout pattern and really get some strange looks from fellow fishermen. It is a little warm with a moustach and goatee that I wear but I prefer it to all the sunscreen options.
  21. The wife is a two time cancer survivor so she prefers me to wear sun protection when we are outdoors.Seemed to have most of the major brands both with and without a collar.Have worn Columbia for years and in the last couple of years tried Simms,Under Armour and Patagonia shirts. If you can wear enough protection around your head and neck area the pullover shirts in the above brands are really light. They don't have the pockets but do a good job keeping the sun rays at bay.I haven't paid a big price for these shirts either as you can find them online at great prices from places like Sierra Trading Post. You can even find shirts with good UPF ratings that are treated to repel mosquitoes that worked great several years ago when we fished the San Juan River in New Mexico
  22. Good point Lancer, as I always seem to have some p-line 3# somewhere in my vest that does a pretty good job as tippet material.Buy a big spool at Tim's when I get in the Cassville area and put some on spinning reel too.
  23. Hmmm, sometimes I like the challenge of catching fish on small 18-20 size nymphs and then again I have fooled some mighty big fish on big streamer patterns. Not sure if all you catch on those steamers are always going to be bigger than some of the big ones we catch on smaller flies. You are fortunate that your talent allows you some great places to fish. Most of mine are from the parks or Taney, some of those not too smart trout we sometimes struggled to catch as kids.
  24. Pretty much use 6x for all of my trout fishing anymore and really like the "airflo" sightfree G3 in that size.I do fish a lot of really small nymphs that keep me from going to 4 or 5x .Kinda like Laker 67 in that I like to catch big fish on lighter line.
  25. Another great video-wish I could tie that well!
