    Great Anthem Fergie!

What's with nuns and male names?
  2. I think there's a link between subject matter and ads too. Let's see if prom dresses show up now. Prom dresses, I say! Anybody know where I can buy a prom dress in a large?

    Great Anthem Fergie!

Best joke I heard was Kapernick said he would stand up if she would just stop singing.

    What's Cooking?

I love pickles, and I love Tzatziki. But I can’t handle raw cucumbers. Go figger. I’m liking the Greek ideas being tossed around here lately. I may have to do some “stick-a-bobs” 😄soon. That’s what ness 2.3 used to call them. Been too much eating out lately and too boring to post when I have cooked.

    What's Cooking?

    Simple goodness right there.
  9. The guide I used there retired a couple years back. Too bad because he was outstanding. I’d give Kirk’s fly shop a call for suggestions. Other shops there are Estes Angler or Scott’s.
  10. I sorta changed my opinion about the Super Bowl. I mean, Brady is probably the greatest of all time, dang it. I did watch it, but I found myself automatically rooting for the Eagles — because I love an underdog. And the story of Foles is hard to top. Played a great game and is a quality man too. Did anybody else see the shot of Gisele toward the end of the game where she was looking down at her wedding ring and kinda fiddling with it? It looked like she was thinking about pulling it off 😄
  11. I’m dying to know the answer to that! 😄
  12. Building rods is a pretty fun thing to do. Not a great deal of skill or equipment needed to do a respectable job. And, like a lot of other crafts, you can take it farther and fancier if you like. First couple rods I did like Al and Gavin said, with cutout boxes and thread running through a book. It is absolutely fine. I built something out of some scrap oak with adjustable length and spring tensioned spool holders, but I really don’t like the thread setup and did it the old way last time. I’ve got a Winston 2-weight blank with a really sweet reel seat sitting on it gathering dust right now. Need to pick it back up. Good luck.

    What's Cooking?

I like parsnips pretty well. I will confess they were overdone in my meal the other night. They cook faster than carrots. Gotta remember that. Anybody got any tried and true low-cal recipe ideas for butternut squash? I’ve got one sitting on the counter gathering dust. I’m sure I could do it with butter and brown sugar, or fry it in butter, or make a creamy soup, but.... Last time I roasted it with just a little s&p, but I’d like to get a little more flavor going.
  16. Well, that begs a question—what happened the other 2% of the times?

    What's Cooking?

Pretty standard process. Shanks browned in Dutch oven then set aside. Followed with onion, parsnip, carrot for a few minutes then tomato paste until slightly browned. Red wine, consommé to deglaze and off to the oven for a few hours. Made some mashed taters to go along with it.
