    What's Cooking?

Garnish can't even help those๐Ÿ˜€We do love lentils here. Repeats and leftovers here. The rest of the week isn't going to be share worthy. Maybe the long weekend will bring something good.
  3. At first I was a little miffed at not getting an invite. Not so much now

Thanks. About 25 throw aways but I'm happy with this one. These city hummingbirds are not as social as these country ones ๐Ÿ˜€

We've got a pair of hummingbirds that just love our salvia this year. We've got several pots with salvia around our patio, and this cool morning they were really active and brave. They are hard to capture - they're so sugared up they can't sit still! But I did like this one.

    Whatchya Drinking?

Old Fashioned with Templeton Rye, ho'made brandied cherries and maple syrup instead of simple syrup. Got that idea from a friend.

    What's Cooking?

I'm putting some of this on myself. They had chopped pancetta and sliced pancetta - same company. The sliced looked meatier, but I've always gotten the chopped so that's what I did despite the clues. Dang it. I actually like the company's stuff and their story. It's La Quercia, a company in Iowa that is trying to do Italian cured meats in America on a higher level.

    What's Cooking?

One of our favorite pasta dishes---was a disappointment. There was a new brand of pancetta at the store. I thought looked a little fatty in the package window. When I opened it up it was probably 90% fat and the meat part was kinda grisly. I mopped out a lot of the rendered fat, but there was no improving the meat part. The porky fat is an important part of the flavor of this dish, but it wasn't right. Not a total bust, but it should be much better. Pretty in the pic tho.

Hate the name, love the chicken and sauce tho. With added sage and lemon thyme from the garden And, meefoaf as my baby brother called it with some decent locally grown corn and mashtaters Tonight will be one of our favorite pasta dishes
  12. The world is absolutely overrun with injury attorneys. I wonder why they haven't sued manufacturers or whoever into making the needed changes? Wait...I think I've got an angle here. You guys keep quiet, ok?
  13. I love horses and especially draft horses.
  14. I always get a kick out of ding dongs that get themselves busted by posting to social media. ๐Ÿ˜€

Nice that you didn't have to go move her! I think I'm old enough that people don't ask any more. Daughter and SIL moved recently and I didn't even get a call!!

Kinda proud KC was able to save and rehab the beautiful Union Station and make it a special place again.

    Whatchya Drinking?

Yep, knew where you were before I saw the second pic. That's a really impressive wall of booze they've got there at Pierpont's in Union Station. @BilletHead remember stopping in there??

    Whatchya Drinking?

We did Ireland a couple years back. Spent a couple days in Dublin before moving on. We did the Teeling tour and really liked it. Very informative and the missus even found a whiskey cocktail she liked.
  21. Ok, back to bears. Here's a video a friend of mine shared. He was with a group in Glacier NP back in June. IMG_8068.mov
  22. We were pheasant hunting in South Central Kansas many years ago. We walking a line in tall grass and a big cat got up in front of us and ran straight away. It was gone in a flash, and there was some debate about what it was. We agreed we did see a dark tip on the tail. It was tan and we didn't notice spots. It was pretty large, so we landed on mountain lion. But honestly we were never 100% certain. It was a pretty cool experience though.
