  1. Actually missed most of the game, but what I saw looked great. Cassel seems to have had a decent game. McCluster, Jones, Charles, Moeaki, Flowers, Hali -- All lookin good
  2. Welcome flygirl. Feel free to join in, post a fishing report, ask a question, whatever. If you've been reading for a while, you're probably up-to-speed on topics to avoid too
  3. I kinda thought the same thing. The choppy editing made you wonder what really happened. I'd bet it wasn't pretty. But a cool video none the less.
  4. Can't tell you where to head FROM Big Cedar, but while AT Big Cedar head to the Buzzard Bar and listen to Clay Self -- a real live singing cowboy and funny guy.
  5. Probably fall, followed closely by spring. Fall's a great time to be outdoors in general. Cooler weather and beautiful colors make it a real treat. Leaves on the water -- well, not so great. It's also the prime time for some of my other interests including bird hunting and photography. The summer chores start to wind down, and I've got more time for the good stuff. Spring -- well, it's warmer weather and just great to be outdoors more. Beautiful things to see, eat and photograph. I've always got a garden going, so spring's a busy time and fishing doesn't always happen so much. I love the Ozarks in spring. And now, it's off to the strip pits...
  6. Two very-closely related subspecies of cutthroats around there -- the Greenback and the Colorado River cutt. Greenbacks are native to the east side of the divide and the South Platte and Arkansas River systems. Colorado River cutts are native to the west side and the ? River drainages....anybody??? That one would have been a CR cutt.
  7. Oh, man. What a gorgeous CR cutt! What's that hunk of lumber in the picture??? We you at the hatchery or something?
  8. Crap -- the web filter here at work won't let me see the picture.... You talking brown/rainbow/brook/cutt grand-slam? Love that area! Fished the east side back in July. (BTW -- that avatar pic was taken on a CO River trib at about 9,000 feet, and there was a Colorado River cutt in that little pocket there that fell for a dry a few seconds later).
  9. They got largemouths right there in Douglas County, Andy! Just no picture, right? Can't help you on your list, but that's a cool goal you've got set for yourself. I'm kinda doing the same thing with trout. It's a much shorter list, and I'm not making much progress the last couple years.
  10. Hope you had a great trip -- been keeping up with it here and there. Hope to see pics and a write up someday soon.
  11. I think it's more than more than likely. Guy owns the land, you gotta have permission to be on it. I get what you're saying, but it's awful hard for me to find fault with cwc87. He owns some land, a river runs through it, and he can make a buck from it. I don't like to see a flotilla of canoes spinning through my trout water either, but I know it's part of the deal until I've saved up enough dough to buy 10 miles of stream of my very own. In the meantime, I'll work around the obstacles.
  12. Great post Al.
  13. Those males are incredibly colored! You've got some great shots there. Any bears? It looks like bear country to me.
  14. Good stuff there, fly guy. You nailed it.
  15. Nice -- I like the one of the bike. Good angle on that. What is the place in the last shot? Kinda looks dilapidated, but maybe not.

    Who's Reading What?

Just finished up To Kill a Mockingbird. Not sure how I got this far without reading it before. What an excellent book, with a lot of great characters and a heck of a message too. Jumped into a Charley Waterman bird hunting book: Gun Dogs and Bird Guns. 'Tis the season (almost)!
  17. When a thread title has that certain 'feel' to it ,and it gets to more than 2 pages, that's a warning.
  18. I'm rubber, you're glue...
  19. You're a putz, wrench. Since when do we do STFU? BTW, I remember Phil specifically asking that one not to be used. You wanna express your opinion, that's fine. I just think you need to use a little sense. For you, that may be all you've got, so don't blow it all in one post. Literal Christian? What the heck are you talking about? I'm talking about common courtesy. Smallie saw fit to make disparaging comments about two people that drowned. Eric saw fit to call into question the Bible, he inserts his political views into everything, was out calling Trav names and now has resorted to PMs to try to beat his point home. He's a blow hard. I'm not saying he's wrong, it's just clear you don't need to go certain places and he continually blurts that stuff out. Who needs this crap? You guys go ahead and do your thing. Apparently the sport you're most interested in is stirring the pot here and trying to make yourself look bright. Have a ball.
  20. You used to be a putz, but you've cleaned your act up Chief. Nicely done.
  21. Nice -- just what I expected: denial, finger pointing, name calling. Everybody's got a right to an opinion, but there's places you shouldn't go. You take pride in saying what you think, but you could be a little more diplomatic and less controversial and make your point better. It's just tiresome seeing you flogging every topic, preaching the gospel according to Eric, getting yourself into a corner and then name calling your way out. The forum could be better. Now come on with your next attack and prove you've missed the point.
  22. Another train wreck, and not surprisingly some of the same passengers as always. Eric, it's clear you fancy yourself a pretty bright guy. As such, you should surely know religion is a topic that is best avoided. For people far-less capable than you, Phil has even spelled it out -- stay away from religion (and politics). Oh, I know you're gonna say you didn't start it, and you didn't, but you made it an issue with your backhanded response. You're increasingly over the top with your comments and there are too many personal digs. And that makes this place less useful and less fun. You'd be much more effective in making your points, and a much better ambassador for the causes you believe in, if you dialed it back a little. Smart guy like you oughta be able to figure that out. For the rest of youse guys -- let's leave the religion and politics out, then things won't get to the point somebody gets pist.
  23. I would check and see what the reception is like. I remember hearing some people debating whether it would beam a signal from under trees, etc. I don't know the answer, but I'd want to know b4 buying.
  24. I haven't, but this guy did: My link I've got it on the list
  25. Nice report -- thanks for sharing it.
