  1. In another thread I think you said Amish can be a partner in a motorboat but can’t own outright?
  2. It works! 😄

    What's Cooking?

No shame in that. Shame in that 😄

    What's Cooking?

Meatloaf. Ever heard of it? With the good old ketchup, mustard and brown sugar glaze. Steamed green beans with butter and seasoned with some chicken base. Mashed taters. Wasn’t going to have a gravy so I amped up the butter and cream plus added some sour cream. Very creamy and very delicious.

    What's Cooking?

Been cooking a little. Bought some Thai chiles and used them to spice things up a bit in another stir fry on a bachelor night. Breakfast burritos this morning. Eggs with a bit of cheese, bacon and green chiles. Gotta have those eggs creamy not hard and tough. An old favorite in the oven right now. Will follow with more.
  8. I think @Mitch f might have some recent experience up there.

    Great Books

Good thread! Been reading William Tapply’s Stoney Calhoun books recently. There’s only 3 in that series but I’m liking them enough to do some of his others. Have about all the John Gierach books. Pick them up and read a chapter or two now and then. Have a couple stories I reread because I love them. Same with Sherlock Holmes. Been reading those stories since I was a kid.

    What's Cooking?

Good old BLT and some store bought corn (that paled in comparison to the IA corn from a couple weeks ago).
  11. I've been at this stuff for a long time. Usenet (ROFF), listserv, Conservation Cafe, Ozark Chronicles, Yahoo groups and now this. I've got friends here and elsewhere going back to the old Cafe and the MO fly fishing listserv. OA is by far the best group I've been involved in.
  12. Wow! I just use it to keep in touch with old friends. I guess I’m doing it wrong.

    What's Cooking?

Lightly breaded cod filet, The San Francisco Treat and some peas. A lemon caper sauce drizzled over it all.
  14. We do. But that just hides the ignored person's post with 'You've chosen to ignore content by XXX' but it also gives the tempting 'Options' right after that, which enables me to click and see the post. And, dang it, sometimes I click on it! Also, if anybody quotes the ignored one, it shows up. Not a big deal -- just saying Facebook removes all traces of the blocked person like they don't exist. No temptations
  15. Huh?
  16. The other 15 people😄
  17. *I know that’s lame!
  18. I have a confession to make. I had three donuts that day. Two glazed and one chocolate. If I keep this up I’ll be too fat to cast a streamer rod!! 😄😄😄😄*
  19. We cross posted.
  20. Thanks
  21. One thing nice about Facebook is the ease of blocking someone. A couple clicks and they're gone -- like they never existed. Threads, replies, replies to their replies, everything just disappears. It makes the handful of boring groups I belong to a little nicer when I can easily get rid of the smart a**es. The 'unfollow' is pretty nice too if there's someone showing up on your timeline more than you want. Anybody that's having trouble on Facebook isn't using it right. If we had that functionality here I'd use it.

    What's Cooking?

Yeah—was thinking the same thing. What gives?
  23. @snagged in outlet 3 Not sure this is going to coast all the way to 6 pages without a booster shot. Food seems to work here, so... Yesterday somebody brought donuts to the office. Here’s my all time favorite—a glazed from LaMar’s in KC:
  24. That oughta work. Do you keep a 9 weight handy in case you want to cast some #26s?
  25. Anybody here ever just adjust your cast or get a little closer or move farther away? Or, do you just keep buying rods?
