  1. Good advice on here, and you handled it right by letting them know. It's not easy to get it just right when you're new and inexperienced, but there are some common-sense things that need to be done. Acknowledge the customer, apologize for the inconvenience, don't make excuses and maybe even offer up something extra. All that goes a long way to calming down an irritated customer. It's gonna be trial by fire for these guys with Memorial Day right around the corner.

  10. The officer was laid to rest on Saturday in his hometown of Weston, MO. I happened to be going up there for a festival there that day and scattered all along the highway were groups of people waiting for the funeral procession to arrive.   16. Thanks Al. I looked at a couple other smaller streams, and that looks like a good rule of thumb.
  17. It's some kind of white fish. Started showing up in my market a few years ago. Filets are longer that tilapia, more like orange roughy size and shape. Very mild tasting and cheap.

    Monte Cristo is a pretty good fried sandwich. Basically a ham and Swiss dipped in egg and cooked like French toast. Good with jelly on it. I don't doubt a fried sub sucked.
  19. Sorry if this is a little bit of a hijack, but what's a good rule of thumb for fishability at the Montauk gage? My notes say 3' and it's currently only 1.9.

    Yup. Not too bad. So, I got broccoli rabe from the CSA yesterday. Anybody know what to do with it? Honestly, this is one of the fun things about the program -- getting new stuff to try. Also, spring onions, lettuce, radishes, chive plant and parsley plant.
