  7. Not-so-fun-facts: All three were Jews whose lives were greatly impacted by the Nazis. Klemperer's family fled Germany and Banner's fled Austria before the war. Clary (LeBeau) spent time in Buchenwald. I remember an interview he did where he showed the serial number tattoo on his forearm. Gen. Burkhalter and Col. Hoffstetter were both Jewish.
  8. Been getting some Navy Band stuff on my FB feed. I liked this one.
  9. I didn't have OnX but I'm looking at it now. Looks pretty handy.

    What's Cooking?

Deets = cool for details. Sorry 😄
  11. My parents and grandmother watched Welk. Sunday nights as I recall. We hated it as much as they hated our rock ‘n roll I guess. Not many TV choices in those days. Now Hee Haw was sorta enjoyable. The silly humor, the little tingle in the trousers I got from the Hee Haw honeys. Later I grew to like the music. If I run across it now I’ll stop and watch.

Need deets. There’s a lotta good going on there.
  13. I liked it so much I turned SoundHound loose on it. I guess it’s Pink Floyd, which surprised me.
  14. Welcome to the forum Josh. Blue Springs Creek is a neat little stream. You captured it well.
  15. How on earth did that ever come to be???
  16. Glad to hear you had a decent hunt and the birds are doing OK. I love that area and I sure do miss going out there. I've stayed in Greensburg a few times and I've hunted out towards Mullinville. Used to belong to a club that had some properties out there, plus there was plenty of good WIHA around too. Last time out saw more quail than pheasant. Were you guys on private land or walk in? Did you see many other folks hunting? Got a text out of the blue from a friend of mine yesterday with a picture of a place in Gove County we just called 'The Big Draw'. Just a great location that our group had kinda loose permission to hunt. Really got me thinking I oughta just pack up and head out somewhere, if for no other reason than to get out. I've got a bad case of the shack nasties.

Speaking of creepy... Growing up I had a couple friends that lived across the street from a cemetery and we used to mess around in there a lot. It's the kind with huge headstones, mausoleums, famous people, etc. In it there's a huge mausoleum. At that time it wasn't marked, so we never knew whos it was. One day I walked up the steps and one of the doors was ajar. I opened it up and peeked inside, then went on in and walked down the aisle a ways. There were tombs along the side walls. As I walked down I could see some footprints in the dust. Hmmm. There was a pit at the end and the ends of a ladder were sticking up slightly above the floor level. And on the floor near the pit were a bunch more footprints. Just too weird and I didn't really want to know who or what was in that pit. So I left kinda quick like. Here's a picture I took of it a few years ago. The doors are on each side after you go up the smaller sets of side steps. It's got a historical sign in front now. It's the William Rockhill Nelson family. He founded the Kansas City Star and when he died he gave a chunk of his fortune to found the Nelson Art Gallery in KC. Mount Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO.
  19. Oh, I’m staying out of the whole measuring thing. That’s not going anywhere good. Took a big enough chance with the baggie comment 😄
  20. You ought to commission a similar poster but replace the creel with a baggie!

    Squirrel?

I was recently talking to a guy who's very in-the-know on squirrels and squirrel-proof feeders. It seems the Chinese have recruited a bunch of American squirrels to help in the design of squirrel-proof feeders that are made in China and sold to unsuspecting Americans. The squirrels are given an unlimited supply of acorns and year around climate-controlled quarters if they agree to share their bird-feeder-busting secrets. He showed me a secretly-recorded cell phone video of one of their design meetings. I can only say that it's chilling. They will stop at nothing to destroy the USA! I believe we should thank patriots like @BilletHead , @Johnsfolly, @ColdWaterFshr, @Gavin, @ness'lady, @Daryk Campbell Sr, @oneshot, and @oneshot 1for helping to defeat these bushy-tailed, bird seed-gorging rodent traitors! God bless America!

While we're at it, how about I share one of my most memorable photography screw ups? 2.2 has always been a big Florida Gators fan, and when Tim Tebow came along, he became a huge fan of his. We were in Gainesville visiting relatives and I figured out when the Gators were practicing and where to go. We hung out in the stands by the tunnel waiting for them and I told 2.2 he should ask Mr. Tebow for an autograph when he came out. We got the football signed and then I asked for a photo of them together. 'Timmy' (that's how he signed the football) obliged. They scooted together and I took the shot... which was spot-focused between them way across the field to the far wall. Dang it.

I always liked this shot taken by son ness 2.2. We were fishing a small tailwater and came across this small side channel. I said we ought to go up it but he thought it was too small to bother with. Then the old man hooked one
