You might search a little for small farmers that do CSAs or supply restaurants. I don’t remember the website but there’s one that lists CSAs and you can filter down by location.

    What's Cooking?

Think I saw Louis' mentioned on DDD or something like it. Always wanted to get to New Haven for the Pizza. I think Pepe's is the one known for the white clam pizza.

    What's Cooking?

This all has me thinking about burger joints that have been around a long time. Many have some good memories attached. Winstead's on The Plaza in KC. Art Deco architecture that's pretty cool. Burgers, rings, shakes, sodas, The Skyscraper soda that comes in a vase and is best eaten by 2+ people. Neighbor lady used to take us there, likely to give my mom a break. An annual tradition with my kids to go down and see The Plaza lights and eat there. Expanded, contracted and only the original (1940's) location is left. Filed BK in February so it may not survive. Real estate is worth more than the franchise. Mug's Up in Independence. Drive up only, homemade root beer that's served in frozen mugs. Good stuff, food just OK. Often a stop Friday or Saturday night while cruising back in the 70's. Nice folks. HiBoy in Independence. Typical burger joint menu. Great onion rings. Lotsa stops there growing up. Nu-Way in Wichita. Used to be one in KC. Loose-meat burgers, good homemade root beer too. A must-stop to the original if I'm near Wichita.

    What's Cooking?

Sounds like you might enjoy Town Topic here in KC. Tiny place with stools at the counter, a few 2-seat tables along the front wall. If they enforced the 6-foot rule their capacity would be 3 customers and a cook They do smashed burgers on a flat top with grilled onions. Very simple and tasty.
  13. Nope 😄
  14. I remember a trash can of Hawaiian Punch and Everclear stirred with a baseball bat. Then I remember waking up with Magic Marker (remember those?) all over me. I learned my lesson then. Wait for step 2 to see if this is diluted and/or sweetened or both 🤪
  15. ...and grain alcohol, you make Limoncello! Just the outer layer of the peel -- no pith: Now add the alcohol and then it's off to bed for a few weeks to extract the lemon oil and color: We enjoyed Limoncello in Italy last summer and decided to make some. It's a very common homemade spirit there. Over there the lemons were huge -- sometimes as big as softballs. Hoping we can get close with this try at it. Any ideas what to do with the remaining Everclear? Any frat boys out there?

    Favorite Movies

Watched ‘The Good, Bad and the Ugly’ all the way through for the first last night. Interesting movie. The score was certainly memorable. Thought the really tight shots on the actors was too, flies and all. Wifey came in the last 30 minutes and kept laughing. I was all in, but coming in at the end she noticed some of the forced drama and weird situations more than me. Lips of Italian actors not matching the sound. Where the hell did that noose come from?😄

    Favorite Movies

I think if a movie can make you nervous they’re doing a good job. Agree with @Mitch f it’s a great scene and one of my favorite movies. Probably seen it 5 times and it still gets the heart beating. The scene where he’s chased into the river by the dog is one of many that get me.
