You need to sit that old man down and tell him where you stand! We went over this in the COVID-19 thread!! š¤Ŗ

I think I'd ask the doctor to explain why no fat or seasoning, and also ask what's the downside if you do use some fat or seasoning. Doctors are people too and may have some particular bias or pet peeve that gets in the way. If he/she doesn't give a sensible answer, find another doctor to ask. And keep asking around until you find one that says butter and lemon pepper is ok on fish! And, yeah -- salt on watermelon! But no pepper on cantaloupe for cripes sake

We've all got a hell of a lot to be thankful for. Every single one of us.

Can we be friends for a second? šš

Itās one thing to post something in an attempt to get a reaction. Itās a whole ānother thing to give that reaction. You took the bait š

Good luck claiming a thread as your own š

How about we try this without name calling? Feels like junior high in here.

Did baby back ribs today. Flavor of the meaty parts was great but man they were fatty. Didnāt even notice it as I prepped - no real visible fat. Iāve done baby backs many times but guess Iāll pay better attention next time.

I'd love to hear the details of the catch...

What makes it even scarier to me is that the buyer of much of the debt is the Fed. I'd have a lot more cool stuff if I could work a deal like that. Anybody here take ness bucks?

Depends on where I go. Grocery stores, liquor stores, Lowes/Home Depot/Ace, nurseries are all very busy. Power malls, like in my picture, are dead. Strip centers -- it depends on the tenants. The big old-school mall in Overland Park, KS, which is one of the few remaining that does well, is closed. I dunno, maybe 100-150 tenants? The Plaza in KC is dead from what I hear. That's really expensive real estate, and they already have high turnover. I bet there's a lot of those shops and restaurants that close permanently. Hotels and theaters are dead. AMC, the big theater chain based in KC, furloughed everybody, including execs. All this commercial real estate is owned by investors who usually got a chunk of their money from a bank loan. Tenants don't pay, so borrower can't pay, bank gets hit. I know -- boo hoo. Saw the knee doc the other day -- not doing elective surgeries. The hospital where his office is looked dead -- it's usually packed with people. Children's Mercy in KC laid off a bunch of people and announced their revenue is down $1 MM a day. You rural folks are probably used to hearing about hospitals having financial problems. I'm used to seeing them add multi-million dollar additions or build new hospitals to handle all the business. With everything closed sales tax receipts are way down for municipalities. I've lost track of how much they're talking about racking up the deficit. It was already a trillion, they added $2.5 trillion with stimulus and I think they're talking about another $3 trillion. You guys know who buys the lion's share of our debt, right? I probably missed some stuff...

First time I was over that way in a while, and it was really something to see. Behind me are pads with an IHOP, Verizon store, mattress store. Dead. To the left is a Super Target that was overflowing though.

I did a CSA a couple years ago, two years in a row. I really enjoyed the variety of produce. It made me try a lot of new things (like Bok Choy), and it forced me to work with what they gave me each week. It's a pretty cool deal. Very nice folks too. Thought about doing it again this year but hemmed and hawed until I missed the cutoff. Kinda wish I'd done it now.

Been kinda bummed about the garden because all the cold/cool weather has stalled everything out. Gave everything a dose of Miracle Grow last weekend. Finally got temps up over 65 this week. Between that and the feeding things just seemed to pop the second half of this week. Been pulling a few small radishes, lettuce is getting fairly close. Still have one sickly looking tomato though -- a Gold Rush Currant, my first try with a currant tomato. Won't be able to replace that if it croaks so may go get another Sun Gold cherry to replace it this weekend if they still have them at the nursery. Swiss chard and beets planted 4/11 are popping, but slooow. Succession planting of lettuce was done 4/25 and there's barely any action. Sugar Bon snap peas never germinated so replanted that section with Sugar Ann on 5/8, but they're taking their sweet time. One section of bush beans (Dragon Tongue) looks great, the other section (Kentucky Wonder Bush) is sparse. Ground cherries got singed by the frost 5/9 and are looking pretty rough. Lost about ¾ of our last gooseberry bush over the winter. Have a branch buried in a pot of soil and it's starting to root. Will transplant that at some point -- need to research that some. Last night we finally got the rain they've been threatening since Tuesday. Warmer weather is coming too. I'll probably be a lot happier with what I see out there in a few days.

You probably know this but pinching off the flowering part will slow the bolting down.

Nice going, son and dad too!

Big bin full of masks at Ace Hardware last weekend. About a buck a piece. Picked up a pack at the grocery store a couple weeks ago. Friend of wifey makes them. Plenty of folks chattering about them on FB.
