Congrads Norm on your retirement. Still thinking of you on your upcoming fight and really enjoy the fishing reports, Mr. and Mrs. BilletHead

I guess I need fly tying lessons from Wrench and photography lessons from Ronnie. Fishing lessons from everyone , What I really need is to get out of the house and fight the mud, rain and cool weather and try to catch a fish, BilletHead

Yes and thank you Mr. Googly eyes . I had forgotten how possessed you and Ronnie were about Googly doll eyes. Next one I will do that and put a small rattle out of it's rear end. I had thought about leaving the head larger but the more I trimmed the more packed and pretty the flared hair got. Almost got carried away. You know you cannot put hair back on . BilletHead

First of all I am not a hair packer or spinner or claim to be. Got a hankering to work up a Dalberg diver. Chucked up a size 2 B10s. Heavier than needed but it was easy to grab. Worked up some flash and hackle for legs. Added some red to the behind. I could of spun up the whole head and make a striped head but wanted to do some stacking for a spotted effect. Had some spin so the head is off some but the fish are not going to care . The very tip of the nose is spun up on purpose. Went to trimming, what a mess! I will be doing more for fun and for fishing too. Thought I would share it with you all. Some views, You can really see were the deer hair spun here, BilletHead

Got one of those Al and it works well . It isn't as sharp pointy as yours is. I like it because it does not kill the frogs. I put them in a mesh bag and throw in a bucket in a spare fridge. The cold frogs will be ready to knock in the head and clean in the am. BilletHead

Crunch down on those canned salmon bones, a good source of calcium. Do you pick the bones out of your sardines? . Pig snouts? I would try one. Gravy? You bet as long as it is homemade. Sausage gravy, fried rabbit of squirrels, chicken fried from chicken! Oh boy and then there is gravy from pounded and breaded deer and goose. My oh my, BilletHead

Yes JD Big decisions for sure. When the Mrs. was faced with the same ones you have we were so blessed to have a good team taking care of her. The best Surgeon, oncologist, and radiation oncologist. We asked each one if they were faced with the same diagnosis what would they do? We choose that course of action and never looked back. Even at her low points she did not regret it one bit. Eleven years has passed and we still see her surgeon and oncologist. I can only relate in a caregivers place but Pat can relate just what you are feeling, BilletHead

JD the Bobblehead, Superglue is good stuff. When I used to flintknapp I would cut myself on those sharp flakes I drove off a preform. Some would imbed in my legs. A drop of glue and you were back in buisness. BilletHead

Yep hope you can get it figured out Chief and share it with us. We like Asian food. If it wasn't for cook books I could not get it close. I am figuring out there is real Chinese food and then there is modern American inspired Chinese dishes. Healthy Chinese and unhealthy Chinese. Like them both, BilletHead

Chief I know your problem, After you have eaten 35 years worth of small mouth bass your taste buds have been burned out. You will never be able to taste like you did as a young man. If you consume a measuring cup of Southern Missouri dirt daily you may be able to revive the taste sensation again. Let me know how it goes . Maybe back then you used farm raised chicken instead of tyson caged confined so called chicken? BilletHead

Not drinking but it is getting bad when you walk down the isles and begin to think of your OA member friends . Please don't tell me there is a twelve pack of Johnsfolly offspring out there! At least they are a limited edition tribe, BilletHead

Just what do you do with the first morels and wild asparagus of the season? Made some toast out of traditional rye bread. Then grate some Asiago cheese add to the toast and melt under the broiler. Saute the good finds in some goose fat. Cut up the toasty cheese and top with the found bounty and proceed to enjoy with a glass of wine , BilletHead

The BilletHead's score! Made a trip to the metropolis of Springfield to dink around today. Mrs. BilletHead kept telling me we had to get things done and go home to look for shrooms. Well as soon as we got home it was come on lets look. We checked three places and found some where we typically can find a few early ones. The other two places were a scratch. May of been some there but the leaves are heavy and thick there and the little buggers could of been under the forest duff. First three found were tiny, Then the finding got a bit better, BilletHead

Looking good there Ness. We are a couple three weeks behind you and two months behind where you were last year . Got the tomatoes out of the starter cells and into three inch pots. Still need to do that with our pepper plants. Lettuce in the beds going fantastic. So ready for good greens. Found every old plastic pot in various sizes and put chestnut seeds that our trees produced last fall. Have nineteen sprouted and planted a few more yesterday. I have a couple neighbors wanting some trees. I was hoping I could find someone to take out all the walnut trees in our yard so we could go all chestnut trees. So far no takers. If this doesn't happen I may have little chestnut trees up for the taking. BilletHead

Mrs. BilletHead was picking flowers down the road. Neighbor drove by with 35 morels. The Mrs. got a visual confirmation of the bag full. It is a go in Vernon county. She is now prowling the patch were we looked scoreless yesterday. BilletHead
