Then you should catch those feral housecats in the act and get her to compensate you. That or let those swine of yours graze in her yard.

Spring River OK February 27 report
BilletHead replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Spring & Neosho Rivers (OK)
OH yeah I forgot to share. Thanks Curt. It was another great trip. Except for the boat launching. Water had really dropped. I did take waders thinking I could at least push boat off of the trailer. Ugh no not exactly. Pat backed the boat and trailer down the ramp. We were first to launch pre sunrise but others were in line behind us. I told them go ahead, nope we want you to do it first. Okay boat showed water on the bottom on the trailer. I tried to push it off. Nope would not budge. I told Pat to drive up and back down and hit the brakes. Boat slid back on trailer four inches at a time. After four rounds of that I pushed it off. Pat parked and she got in big eyed how we get back on? I quickly responded no problem but in my mind it's like this is going to suck. Then we fished. Started out slow but when it happened it was a hoot. We caught a bunch, nice ones. Wind blown bank. So thinking why. Either thinking about spawn or plankton gathering bringing up the shad thus a shad buffet for the whites. These fish were from on the bank out to three or four feet deep. A few caught out deeper but much better response shallow. Grey over yellow and white or chartreuse over white. Strip as fast as you could. Hard strikes and good fight. Pat and I kept 20 whites and two big crappie. Bled them and on ice for trip home. Now to getting the boat on trailer. Pat backed out to the same spot. This time the bunks were actually out of the water. I pulled out the winch to the back of the trailer. Walked boat to the back and clipped it on. Then the winching began. Not too bad at first with wet boat bottom. Then it became the pits. Winch and rest, winch and rest. Finally within six inches of where it should be Pat pulled us up. Gathering everything for trip home and I got it the rest of the way back on trailer. No more launching of this place until a raise. Too darned bad. It's fixing to get awesome. -
They are in the woods here. Last year setting up swarm traps I got a whiff of the callery pear blossom. Not a pleasant smell. I kept looking until I found it in the timber. Went over to it. Honey bees and other pollinators use them but not significant for bees. I asked the land owner if I could cut it down. Well yes certainly. That same area has many now.

Yes it is a big mess. Right now they are standing out like a diamond in a goats arse. Actually some here are leafing out an flowers a waining. When those are gone I'm afraid people will forget and not worry until next spring. I have neighbors I want to sneak in and go samurai on those trees!

Probably next to mine. Just let us know when you make that trip. Would be good to see you again.

I concur and think Ollie is a rebel punk rocker that uses a rocker. 😆 -
Was it worth it? Quality time with the granddaughter.

You two crack me up. Went to Bennett spring this morning and fished. I have something to say about the Grinch bug. I'm not and you all will find out for yourselves. Now the price for one has has gone way up. You should be very happy to have one! Better not loose it 😀 LoL.

It is a very nice building. Pat and I checked it out while up at Taney Fest. Walked around outside. Peeked in the building where they strip the eggs and milt. Watched them mix the two creating a new generation of stockers. Pretty neat!

Sometimes the bees get it and sometimes I get it. I put it out and when finished it depends on if the bees have found it yet.
-
Dang, Very excessive. How many bites do you want next season? 😁 Our bees are doing fantastic. I started adding frames. Swarm traps are ready to start putting out.

Hey thanks I like it Mr. Pitt!

Look how lean on those grass eating swine. I'm intrigued, should be a bit healthier.

A win for hunters, fishermen and hikers.

I know nothing about that deal. Out West this has been a hot topic. So much public ground un accessible for use. Locked access gates etc. -
I remember those days. Lived in El Cajon at that time. Not too far from San Diego. The "Box Canyon" is what that means. The Santa Ana winds and the fires on the hillsides. Leaves of ash from those burning hillsides would rain down where we lived in the Box Canyon. Moved to Missouri the winter of 1975. So, I was there when you were there @Terrierman. Small world. As a matter of a fact my parents had an embroidery shop. They were commissioned to make Pennants (flags) you probably marched under. I went with Dad many times to the base to deliver them to the base. In the early seventies that was a big deal for me. I was still in Jr. High. Who knows you might have seen some kid gawking at you and your fellow soldiers marching around. All I could see was a bunch of Gomer Pyles. 😁

Some were really colored up in Oklahoma Monday.
