  1. You are right about that. I am glad to live here. You and I have a friend in common who passed. Richards wife is Australian but she has dual citizenship. She told Richard and I we wouldn't like living down under and if we aren't careful the states could become that way.
  2. I had no idea this was going on across the big pond, I know what one of you think on the forums, but what do the rest of you think? Britain's lifetime smoking ban set to become law | Reuters

  7. I was telling Pat about this thread. She hasn't been on here in a couple weeks. She told me when I kick the bucket, she is going to throw a big Party! So, hear me out I'm going to fix her. YOU ARE All invited! šŸ˜‰
  8. I'm cleaning squirrel for eating and it is no trouble to snip off the tail with garden or kitchen shears. They are bone in and all you have to do is salt the butt of the tail. Takes seconds. In the mid to late 70s I bought my first ambassador, Lined it up with Dacron line with no mono leader. You just did not need it back then as you probably don't now. After ice out I would throw and slowly retrieve #4 and #5 Mepps spinners dressed and plain. Caught many big bass doing that on farm ponds.
  9. Two pretty cool items. These were found cleaning up our mom's stuff after she passed. I am sure these came from my Grandpa Horn. The crow hunting recore is dated 1953 and when I tried to find out about the Herter's Famous quail calling record it is about the same date. Now I have found out much more about Toad Woodward and crow calling. This is from a town not far from me, Lamar Mo. I have a good friend down there and was born there. He has a bunch of brothers and a sister. Toad and his brother were still around when he was a kid. They were married to sisters Nan and Fran which my friend Doug knew. The Woodward brothers were local characters known by about everyone back in the day. Doug asked me what I was doing with that record and if he could buy it. Of course, I said no he could have it. He wants to give it to his brother who remolded Toad's house for his wife. Doug's Brother Stan also knew Fran and Nan. I couldn't think of a better place for it. Funny how things come together. I have no place to display the herter's quail calling record so if anyone wants it for their man cave or hunting cabin you can have it. Both are in good shape and playable.

  13. Just how many hives would you draw the line and start using a lethal method. Bees are generally considered livestock. Don't know what the MDC thinks about that.
