A few more observations today, Painted some more up this morning. Thought I would be able to bar them with the copic air. Well not for me, not steady enough and hard to pin point the air flow. Hard to explain but as seen in the copic instructions and videos the paint stream doesn't go right out the nozzle but it catches the felt pen tip and shoots at an upward angle. Anyway I can't control it very well. Soooooo I rob Mrs. Billetheads hair pic and use it for a stencil. I may be in trouble when she gets home but it is easier to get forgiveness at my house instead of permission. Here are the results of the work, Now to working up more blanks. I have found that when centering the slot for the wire form the slot sometimes doesn't come out dead center on the blank. So I did something else. Now making a two piece blank. Make equal size sides and hold them together and do your face work (dremel the cup out) . Unclamp and lay in your wire form. Do a test clamp tight so that the form seats into the balsa. Unclamp and if all looks well glue it up and squeeze the crap out of it. Much cleaner clamp and more easy in my opinion, Did two in no time this morning and they are about ready to paint, BilletHead

Some Of The Most Expensive Lettuce You Will Ever See
BilletHead replied to BilletHead's topic in Gardening
Oh no she sleeps in the bag with her head covered up all night. When the alarm goes off she wiggles out and pounces on the bed to make sure we get up. There is no snooze allowed. Ronnie you got that right, BilletHead -

Some Of The Most Expensive Lettuce You Will Ever See

I knew what you were getting at Lee. 15 last night and calling for 8 tonight. Not going to mess any with it until it warms up towards the end of the week and then take a peek. As Lee said it is a pretty big patch and Wayne yes should be two larger lights in there but I did not prepare. I know one thing. We sleep on the screened porch during the winter, yes you heard right outside. Mattress warmer and electric blanket. Tonight's single digits will run us inside for one night. Well with the snow on, reflection and refraction from the light made a neat glow on the flag pole. With the stars too it was really neat. Coyotes howling were icing on the cake. For those of you that believe I shoot them on sight isn't true. Truth be known I should have a light on that flag at night. Got to figure that one out, BilletHead -
Bless you and your family ciRe. We are truly sorry and if there is any consolation in this be happy you were with him. He and you will always have and remember that, Mr. and Mrs. BilletHead

Ok good thing and instead of you getting your bowels in an uproar I met you getting your panties in a wad. I am amazed on nine pages and we have covered some scared guy shooting a cougar all the way to Fins getting his panties in a wad. I love this place and like everybody on this forum. You all made me smile the last few days. Thank you, BilletHead
-
There you go Fins. Making something out of nothing. Who on here said something about shooting an eagle? I'm going to fight mine for a pellet trout and Justin doesn't carry a gun. Your getting your bowels in an uproar about nothing. BilletHead
-
I will ask him Chief, Ok let le get this straight. If I am fishing at a trout park and get attacked by an eagle doing what eagles do can I fight him for my pellet raised fish? If Justin is out checking his flock of sheep and a eagle, mountain lion or a coyote is doing what they do to his bah bah black sheep lamb can he do something about it? All in jest but I have met Justin once and I doubt he will let them do what they do naturally, BilletHead

Some Of The Most Expensive Lettuce You Will Ever See
BilletHead replied to BilletHead's topic in Gardening
Never tried that Chief but I would like to try, I went ahead and put a reflector and a sixty watt bulb in there. Put it in the end third with the best growers I have in there. Now they say 13 tonight. It's getting more pricy by the day but that fresh salad with grilled deer loins and pickled hen of the woods mushroom and peppers sure was good. BilletHead -

You know Wayne I had thought about that after Lee G. said something about a heat lamp. Not sure what a heat cube is? The planter is 12 foot long. Would a single lamp say 60 watt in the middle work? BilletHead -
Ok Chief I'll give it to you for now wording my post just right, I'll share a photo my friend took last year. He had this happen more than once. I should ask him if it was back to back days I know one thing is I was feeding my family or myself I would choose young deer over a mouse or a persimmon. Maybe Justins lamb would be tasty. So how about them Chief's, the foot ball ones? BilletHead

Some Of The Most Expensive Lettuce You Will Ever See

Early before the temp drop we pulled off the covers and picked a big batch of lettuce. Really looking good just a few burned leaves. Got it covered back up before the snow. So far been ok down to one night 17 degrees. We will see the next test of 5 degrees Monday night. I bet we got two inches of snow here this morning. Got it swept off once it quit, BilletHead -
Wrench I would do in the cougar just before it got to Mrs. BilletHead so she would think I was the greatest. Maybe that will give me a free pass instead of being in the dog house. BilletHead

Just finished a batch of goose pastrami last week. Have five pounds of goose thawing for jerky making tomorrow.. Yes I will give you time to plant wild grains for harvest. "The tribe has spoken" BilletHead

Chief, Not trying to stir the pot any. Just some light reading on this pretty snowy day.. All I can say is that yes as humans we have screwed up our ecosystem. Just saying we as humans sometimes are called to balance things out. The days of nature taking care of itself are gone sad to say. http://www.ugadeerresearch.org/?p=705 http://chronicle.augusta.com/stories/2009/08/02/pav_542875.shtml http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/05/140509110746.htm http://agrilife.org/texnatwildlife/coyotes/table-of-contents/interpreting-physical-evidence-of-coyote-predation/ Shall I bring up the poor otter? HA! I hope not. Maybe we should crawl back into our caves, become hunter gatherers again and forget about this internet thing, BilletHead

Mr. Solofisherman, Do you know in the Spring when coyotes have had pups and the does have fawned the coyote will catch and kill fawns for there pups at a fawn a day. Try also to convince the cattle and sheep farmers who loose there income to the coyote population. Also we are now the stewards of the wildlife population of all animals to keep them in control since we have no large predators. I have seen mange so bad in the coyote population and parvo in raccoons when the fur market took a dip and the suffering these animals had was not pretty. There is a fine balance in nature and it is the hunters, trappers and even the farmer who takes out the surplus to keep the remainder healthy. And another thing I think you all getting upset about the cougar incident. None of you were in that mans shoes that day so you don't know what he felt and was going through. One swipe from a big cat can and will disembowel a man. Have anyone here read death in the long grass by Capstick? BilletHead

Thanks a lot, Now I have to show her that. Sadie said you have to lick Orion's face for her too, BilletHead

Lets talk about Orion the Wrench puppy. I bet he would protect that dog from a big cat. I know that is all I've been hearing from Mrs. BilletHead is about that dog since she got to meet him yesterday.

Well done Seth and good follow up on your buck. Since I got my buck a coupe of weeks ago I have been trying to get Mrs. BilletHead on one. It did not happen but we tried. I would send her to the back of the place and when I did they would be here at the house. When she was close to home I had them on trail cam in the back. The chase is on now. Last Saturday evening when she was in the back there was a whole heard here. Seen two bucks spar and the nicest one bred a doe. As it was getting late I sat on the back porch waiting for the Mrs. to get back. The biggest buck was still chasing the doe as I seen the wife stalking along the fence line, she then slipped through the fence as the group moved on. She got back to the house and said she had the buck at five yards but because of the fence she could not shoot. On the ground to boot! Love it! BilletHead

May have to try that Ronnie. The compressor came with an el cheapo air brush. Ness that's my train of thought. OK Wrench I want photos that you take. BUT I want you in about three foot of water looking straight up at a floating silhouette . Have we gone too far? I really thank you all for your input. BilletHead

What color do they prefer, oops I mean what color do they see or not see looking up that is the question? BilletHead

Doubly duty would be perfect in a perfect world, could be even a bit wider and maybe a foot longer. I will work up a PM to you with my (our) wishes. Maybe I could drive up and visit you and get your input sometime? Might even be a popper in your future since that Gavin guy won the one you should of BilletHead

That's why we need to visit sometime. Keep in mind money is an issue! HA BilletHead
