  1. My choice would be the loomis mbr844 glx with a old chronarch 50 mg
  2. You go when it rains all day, haven't seen a boat all day today at LOZ
  3. I don't know what you guys are talking about, last year was sitting on main lake points fishing all day on the July 4th weekend and not nearly a ripple on water. There is a no wake policy this weekend like last year, spread the word ?
  4. Yep, minnows and worms work, worms are messy and not needed for bluegill. Bread mixed with some beer and made into a paste works great for bluegill and will keep you and the kids busy ? and is lots cheaper. Want to have some good fun you can get a can of corn and put some corn on a hook and catch some big carp and have some big fish fun.
  5. Fishing from land or a boat? Of course bass and crappie are most popular here. If you can fish off a dock you can keep the little ones entertained with beer bread on a hook/bobber catching bluegill. Can also throw out a pole or 2 for catfish, just had a couple little ones down and they had a blast doing that. If fishing from a boat I would fish during the week vs. the weekend, save the weekend for partying with family, the lake is to rough on weekends unless you are back at your dock by 9 am in morning or so. Lake has plenty of miniature golf and go karts for kids and plenty of nice restaurants, enjoy your time at the lake.
  6. Congrats to the LOZ boys taking 4 of the top 15 spots. Marcus, Roger, Bob and Rob.
  7. There is a poker run
  8. Our club used to fish there every year but just to many other lakes that are better fishing I think, some guys want to go back and fish it again because it is close to St.L. Back in 90s there were some big tourneys every couple weekends. Superbass used to draw 100+ boats back then.
  9. I was not right next to the boat but looked like the typical drop shot with what looked like a wacky rigged senko on business end
  10. Mike there are definitely some good fish in MT. It is spot specific and some tough fishing and with any Corp lake you never know what water levels will be. We used to have a good Buzzbait bite early in morning bass fishing, never really crappie fished. A buddy's cousin I know is probably one of the top guys on that lake and cashes checks regularly and has won the Bud Light tourney they have in the fall and he catches some good ones.
  11. Sudden Fish Kill: Biologist Explains Dead Fish Popping Up At The Lake Last Weekend LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. — Boaters on the Gravois Arm of the Lake last weekend noticed a surprising number of fish had suddenly gone belly-up, and a local biologist thinks he knows why. Greg Stoner, Fisheries Management Biologist with the Missouri Department of Conservation, says the sudden fish kill was the result of a viral or bacterial infection that afflicted fish in that part of the Lake. He suspects it was a disease called “columnaris,” which results from Flavobacterium columnare bacteria. He noted the MDC received some reports of the incident scattered in areas around the Lake, but the heaviest concentration of dead fish was in the first couple miles of the Gravois Arm. But anglers, swimmers and boaters need not be alarmed: the disease is exclusive to fish. It can be fatal for fish, but it can’t be transmitted to humans. Stoner acknowledged the presence of dead fish can be alarming to people who see it, but the occurrence is not especially uncommon. There was a similar fish kill in 2010, on the lower Gravois Arm. “It’s not unusual in late-spring, early summer when the water temperatures start to climb to have any number of bacterial or viral infections in fish that can cause a fish kill,” Stoner explained. One boater, Jason Jennings, says he was on the Gravois Arm on Sunday, June 19 when he noticed the dead fish. He said most of them seemed to be fairly small. “You’re used to seeing a dead fish every once in a while, but to see that many was surprising,” he said. The columnaris bacteria is something even aquarium owners battle, and their first line of defense illustrates why the recent outbreak likely occurred. When columnaris strikes, aquarium owners make sure to drop the temperature of their fish tank below 75 degrees. The columnaris bacteria flourish in warm temperatures, and with the persistent hot weather, the Lake water temperature has risen into the mid-80s. The disease primarily struck drum in this outbreak, although Stoner said a few catfish and crappie appear to have been affected as well. He also pointed out that fish tend to be physically weaker and more stressed as they come off the spring spawn, and these kinds of diseases have a better chance to take hold, with the fish’s immune system being unable to fight them off. The MDC does not currently have a fish pathologist on staff, Stoner said, so the department is not able to analyze any of the recently deceased fish in a lab. “It’s unfortunate,” Stoner said of the fish kill, “but in a body of water the size of the Lake of the Ozarks you’re going to lose a few fish… it just has to run its course.”
  12. When MLF was in Glaize I went up there between periods and saw Paulinuk had a drop shot on a rod.
  13. Thanks bo, I didn't think they had anywhere you could listen. Can't wait to see the show in January
  14. Wrench, I put out some brush and have plenty of waypoints and still suck! ?
  15. Curious as to how you hear the score tracker update? And I can guarantee you fish are caught plenty deeper than 15 foot on LOZ, oh sorry wrong no fish here but 12 inchers ?
  16. Not sure about crankshaft. Not sure what I am going to do yet being it is a 95. Was quoted $5k for a power head or $3k to resleeve and hone so not sure what to do.
  17. Nice Wrench! Heard they've been biting good. Blew my motor up after putting on a new lower unit and have been out of commission.
  18. I believe it was gravois arm only yesterday and Glaize arm only today
  19. Should be interesting to see what they do, if a guy were to get on the wave breaks catching 12 inch Ks could add up pretty quickly
  20. Anglers today are Palunik, Poshe, Chapman, Howell, Rose, and not sure about the last one
  21. Not sure who it was but the leader, first to take off in period 2 stayed put in pb2 area along with another boat. Not sure what they are doing, I got there late after first period. They keep it pretty much a hush hush deal not wanting boats following them around.
  22. This lake is not any worse than any other during the week in June. ?
  23. Yesterday I think it was James Watson, Mark Rose, Marty Robinson, Kevin Short is all I saw. Today all I saw was Palinuk
