  1. One good thing with lake down is seeing all the transition rock that is exposed (if you can get your boat off lift) ?
  2. I am in same boat, back of dock sitting high and dry and not wanting to chance screwing up my old galvanized lift
  3. Lake is just getting back to normal so I hope we get some rain but not 5 inches of rain. A warm rain will really accelerate everything and make fishing really good especially followed up with sunny temps in 70s the following week.
  4. I didn't end up fishing tourney, my fish went bye-bye. Could only manage couple of keepers each day with no size. There were boats everywhere around where I was as well, I was not in a smaller clear river area but sure it didn't help.
  5. Nice! There was an Anglers Choice tourney yesterday and I am sure some of those guys were up there.
  6. I was by there yesterday but did not go in Linn creek, water around house at 28 mm now has a green tint instead of the brown so I would think linn creek should be clearing off nicely as well. As for the fishing we stunk it up yesterday with only 2 small keepers, water temps are rising nicely with 45-46 around hwy 5 bridge in Niangua and 50-51 by Larry Gale ramp
  7. Selling old St. Croix premier PC-66MH, rated lure wt. 3/8-1 oz, line wt. 10-20. Has a small chunk of cork handle missing and also a guide (see Picts). $50 pick-up in Osage Beach.
  8. Have a loomis CR723 GL3 bait casting rod collecting dust in like new condition. It is a 6 foot medium heavy rod, fast action, rated for 10-17 lb, 1/4-3/4 oz. I am wanting $150 firm, retails new for $210. Pick-up in Osage Beach or will ship at cost.
  9. I get lucky once in a while. You know that blind squirrel saying ?
  10. Fishing transitions and pockets covering water
  11. Taking advantage of the beautiful weather and went out again today at 12:30 and fished till 5:30. Started off with a bang with a nice 3.5 lber in first 10 minutes and then a 4 lber all in first half hour on a-rig. Thought this is going to be good and then not another keeper bite for next 2-2.5 hours before catching another nice keeper on wiggle wart. Probably should have moved around but stayed in the same cove the whole day, except to run to cove where I caught the big one yesterday before coming in, and hooked another 4 lber and came unbuttoned trying to boat flip her. Fish are biting good, looking at long range weather next week, should be real good! I say should be ?
  12. Guessing 5.5 to 6 lb, probably had 11-12 lbs with 3 fish. Fish are biting good right now I think seeing tournament weights with Sykora/Davenport having a whopping 22.97 lbs
  13. Well, to windy to fish? Went out around 11 this morning and turned around in the big water right before Linn creek with 3 foot rollers and fished the dirty water by house at 28 mm to no avail for couple hours. Winds slowed a bit and off we took to the Nianguas and ended up with 3 keepers with one real good one and 4 shorts. Big one and another good one on a-rig and buddy had one on crankbait.
  14. The glaize is muddy and cold right now and not fishing well unless you run up glaize into river area and I do not see it changing by then, but if you did pre fish the glaize and found some fish you would be golden, those fish have not been molested like other parts of the lake. Good luck.
  15. I was reading 43-45 degree water temps on Friday
  16. The skunks are out! Had to go up to St.L and must have seen (smelled) at least 8 dead skunks in road.
  17. Water has cleared some but not much, temps were 40 to 45. We will see how much rain we get this spring, might not clear up? Looked around from 28 mm to 31 mm on my way to fish the nianguas the other day and never saw a boat. As soon as I got to clean water and started fishing there were always at least a couple of boats within site. There were tons of boats all over in Niangua so lake is fishing small I think. Not sure what shape the gravois is in, three weeks ago it was better than main lake but not good with only a foot of visibility.
  18. Went out today from about 1:30 - 5:30 checking water color, clearing a little but still pretty stained in the backs of creeks. Looked halfway decent and then change your angle and not so good, it's hell getting old with bad eyes ?, ended up catching a keeper in dirty water by the house at the 28 mm on a-rig and went a while with no bites and switched to a wiggle wart and had another keeper and that was it. No schooled up fish to be found today, fished dirty water at 28 mm to about 2 mm of the Niangua with 2 bites.
  19. Run to the other 54 bridge ?. The glaize is chocolate along with the main lake. Fishing should be good this weekend in the clear water of the Nianguas with the warm temps and wind. Water temps are in low 40s with mostly dirty water everywhere except in the Niangua arms. Good luck
  20. Well here at 28 mm it is dirty and temps in low 40s and I don't see it much different at 47 mm
  21. Just saw this on lake expo Piercy Pleads Not-Guilty On Manslaughter Charge In Handcuffed Drowning Case MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. — Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Anthony Piercy entered a plea of Not Guilty when he was arraigned in Morgan County court on Thursday. Piercy is charged with Involuntary Manslaughter in the handcuffed drowning death of Brandon Ellingson, which took place in May of 2014. After a protracted investigation, special prosecutor William Seay filed the charge against Piercy in December of 2015. Seay said the charge carries the implication of recklessness. The charge is a Class C Felony, which in Missouri entails a sentence of up to seven years in prison. Piercy has been released from jail on bond, and has since resigned his position as an elected member of the Morgan County R-II School Board. The Highway Patrol has placed Piercy on leave without pay. Piercy’s case will be set for trial at a future date, in Morgan County.
