  1. Hahaha, there's always 1 or 2 trouts in that pool.
  2. Water was pretty low when I went. With the new rain, that should get things going. Might head out again this weekend.
  3. caught 5 dinks the other day by the warm water outlet. not bad for 1st time out this year. biggest fish was about 15".
  4. Is there a site to know when they are stocking the trouts? I'm not in it for the trouts but the bigger fishes that eat the trout.
  5. had to google what the heck it was.... "Stargazers are venomous; they have two large poison spines situated behind the opercle and above the pectoral fins. They can also cause electric shocks. Venom from this fish has been reported to cause death in humans and therefore it should not be handled."
  6. Once I was fishing at night and wading about knee deep. When I went to shine my light around, a gar thought it would be cool to chill next to my feet. I hopped out of the water pretty fast. One time a fellow was talking to me about beaver lake and said "you know why they call it beaver lake?" I said "no why is that?" "Well...there's alot of beavers around that area" I said "oh yeah, do they get pretty big?" "Oh yeah, there's some big ones down there..." until now I never knew what he was talking about.

I'm surprised you are still puling some in ozarkstriper. I went to your website and those are some nice catches. Might have to go down and try once more.
  8. Personally I usually grab most my gear over at Tacklewarehouse, low prices, price-matching, and fast shipping. But if I need something quick, Fin-n-Feather right down the street is my go-to place, if they dont have it then I resort to BPS.

Dang. I fished it for 2 months and was able to pull two in. One I kept, the other I released. Wait for next summer Sam, I'm sure you'll get one. Get out there by the dam and toss big baits. BTW mine were pulled in with 15lb and 17lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid line.
  10. Went up there yesterday and caught a some small whites, lots of short crappies and a few largemouths and spotted bass...but no hybrids. Even with the COE running alot of water the fishing is just not up to par. I would advise to not waste your time making the trip unless you just want to do some fishing for the hell of it.
  11. something about that purple!
  12. 100 white bass? Dang, I think I've only seen like 5 ever pulled out of there. McDaniels is just a plain horrible place to fish period. Limited access, lake is full of what seems to be only dinks, trash everywhere, and just weird people.
  13. right when i let it go my buddy said "why did you let it go, perch is good eating"
  14. A perch? No wonder those walleyes get so big down there. It was about 9" and looked like its been eating well. Snapped a shot and released it.......so that a walleye can have him for dinner
  15. Spinning rod looks killer. I will get one by next year
  16. I wouldnt doubt it. I've heard stories of tournament guys paying locals to catch big bass and put them in cages and then giving them the coordinates to go get the fishes. I met a guy once who said he once caught a big hybrid and a few guys were asking if they could take it to go take a picture of it, they instead entered into the "Big Hybrid" contest and won.

Looks to me like people have been pulling them in for the last few weeks now. BIG ones at that. Heard the guys on boats were casting towards the dam with those Storm Kickin Minnows and were getting a few in. 10" in trout color looks to be what everyone is throwing.

  23. A few looked like they still had eggs but most looked to be spawned out or healthy males. The hybrids we caught were very nice (22"-24").
  24. Fishing has been excellent. Throw a slider or a 3" swimming minnow and you're golden. Limited out every trip.
  25. How big were your whites? Went last week and the whites were very small. You're right about that wind though, it ruined the fishing because you couldnt fell the line or the lure.
