  1. JD did a good job summing up what I have had experience with when it came to handgun in rim. I would have gotten a single six but they are hardly ever found used and even rarer in my price range...lol Some swear there 10/22s are the cats meow but I don't want to have to rebuild a new gun to make it reliable or have a nice trigger. I have shot several hundred rounds from both the HRR and the Henry and neither have failed to fire any thing I have put threw them yet. Longs, shorts, CB's, lots of Fed bulk LR, even some golden that peeps are complaining about not firing. I did have to paint the front blade on both tho the eyes are aging faster than the rest of me.
  2. Its possible, but I have never met anyone who went back to only owning Neos, rubber. or any other kind of wader after buying and using breathables.
  3. OK its closed... eight flies of your chosen pattern sent to me. By Feb 15th. I in return get you a set of member preferred flies back too you in time for the opener. Please place S.A.StampedE. in with your flies. This will get em back that much faster.
  4. I used to be real nervous(did not do it) about taking my digi camera in the water for fear of it getting wet but after I realized that I could replace the camera now for about A fourth of its cost two years ago. I don't think I'll worry near as much next time.
  5. OK we got four!!! Thanks for joining in Ffm. That buckskin seems to be a favorite of the sight fishing hog hunter alright. I could use a couple I am sure. Times running out everyone the opener is sooner than you think.
  6. I don't know Don I was hoping that I would not have to set a sign up dead line but I guess I should. Lets close this to new tiers on Tuesday. Too soon should I wait longer? However if there is only a few of us on the swap I would be in favor of just tying enough for a couple per. Anyone wants to jump in please do so soon.
  7. I my opinion since Mag costs much more per round than .22LR. I figured that if I wanted/needed more bang I already have it. In other weapons. Difference was neglegable tho I think about thirty more bucks for the combo revolver. Really they are to be used for cheap trigger time and how your cousin's was being used. As social guns.
  8. May be old info but I thought those commie rounds were not even nationally produced, and all surplus was corrosive besides the commercially imported Wolf/Bear brand. Edit* Seems to still be the case. According to my favorite source. Ammo deals generator
  9. PM sent Mike
  10. Well .22's can act like rabbits and keep multiplying. The Heritage RR found its self a Pardner. A Henry H001 this used one came by today and I got it for a song. That's a ten round group. Anyone have a appropriate leather holster laying in a drawer? Let me know.
  11. Actually Duckydoty bring out the tri pod and get us some movin pictures. That should really get this "redbud" in a wad.
  12. Thanks for the report! Could think of many worse ways to spend the day then standing in the (warm) water waving a expensive stick. Fishing 22's I would have had five times more takes than actual hook ups if my past performance still stands.
  13. Trashing someones for sale add is worse than anything I see for sale in this thread. I wish all parties doing so would have left their personal feelings in the private messages or started their own thread.
  14. Santa never brings me anything so I occasionally buy my self toys. This is my first money saving investment of the year. A Heritage Rough Rider in .22. This was its first group this morning threw the second shot, but wasn't bad considering gail force winds in 11* weather. Needles to say I shot pretty quickly. Since then I have duck taped a couple of big ol Lou phone books together and have really tightened things up practicing in the basment. If I were to clean the basement up a bit I would possibly show a picture of my range. Now don't freak out. I got some specialty ammo to allow for such things. Bought a brick of Aguila Colibri Quote: This is a cartridge that contains no gunpowder. the little 20g. bullet is solely propelled by the powerful Eley priming mix. For this reason, it does not generate any significant pressure. Due to the lack of noise when fired, the .22 Colibri may be shot indoors, even in the living room, provided a proper back stop is available. The .22 Colibri may be used to eliminate pests such as rats. It may be fired in any .22 LR rifle or pistol, however, it will not cycle the slide of semi-automatic guns. Has a Solid Point Made of Lead Weight 20 grains <~~from natches I'll confirm it shoots really nice and quiet into a phone book on a cold day/night. While breaking in a new .22. Groups just keep getting tighter also. I also have found a great deal on a Henry .22 So soon I will have a complete set single action and lever gun. lol
  15. Wow holly bat boat Impersonators. Last I saw they were trowing stink bombs out of inflatables.
  16. 'Please sir could I have some more"
  17. OK we got Zach and Don. Thanks fellas.
  18. Hope mine have been received by now. They went out when I said they did.

  20. What ever you do make sure they fit easily in their pockets. My old vest is challenged in this regard. I got gifted some of the Scientific Anglers clear plastic ones they are pretty sweet. But don't fit very well. I have been looking for the past year for new pack options.
  21. That's one nice fishing buddy beater ya got their Wheatenheimer!!!Mind if I borrow it for a bit? Gotta couple of "friends" I haven't seen in quit awhile. OK OK I guess I have hid in shame long enough.... No I didn't make it down this year. Truth be known I didn't get to trout fish but a hand full of times total last year. But I also haven't lost my keys for longer than a couple of minutes.Several times a week this year. Now normally I really prefer to get down early and pull the marathon day/night fishing and let sleep be darn but cash, time, and all most constantly being sick for the last couple of weeks. I just could not see the sense in tempting fate. Of showing up and getting myself sick as a dog again. OK excuses now aside. Glad the water was off that the sun was out and that Phil brought some kick but looking heater. I'll do better getting out to the water next year. That's my new resolution Now what I did do was celebrate in a different way. Doing my other hobby with like minded friends. So I'll share that Over in the firearms threads later. Gotta find some video.
  22. Stopped by the post office and sent mine a couple hours ago also.
  23. Thanks for the help. I am only passing along the original post I read in the hope of helping get the dogs home. If anyone knows of a good place to place the original message they might do as I did. Your right Zander tags or riveted plates place on a coller takes much less time or expense than any chip.
  24. That was my thought when I heard 12 and cricket. Good luck to your friend Tim they are out there but used .22 sometimes become heirlooms.
