  1. Planning on fishing floating with my dad. He has a stern canoe with a trolling motor and riggers. Want to explore and thinking camp overnight. So one night and two days worth. Could maybe be talked into more.lol What would your suggestions for the best float and area to camp. Any info is great and welcomed. Thanks JJ
  2. Any ideas or input would be welcome. Brands to avoid, quality bargain priced, What makes one better than another? Going to do some more research but thought it couldn't heart to ask these questions here. Thanks in advance
  3. First thing I noticed is here finger on the trigger the whole time. Didn't teach here about safe handling. I guess ? Not to mention a good way to scare the guns away from your best shooting partner. That is if you ever want to buy lots of guns. Funny but I feel than man was stupid.
  4. Welcome enjoy JJ
  5. Welcome back to the fold! Lots of other ways too eat fish other than fried you know.....j/k My best to you and yours on continued wellness. Save a little time off for the New year meet.
  6. Never could get it lit after rolled in giant paper. lol good recipes fellas
  7. I would have answered sooner. But finally got around to replacing my modem today. Good pattern and something that resembles cotton wood puffs (CDC) also works. but carp are one of those quarry. That if given the opportunity you really need in my experience to observe them. Carp have a tendency to roam a regular beat or graze an area then move to the next. Like a herd of cattle. If you spook one they all go but not always that far. And will calm down a begin eating again soon if there is food near by. If there tailing get that haresear close to the bottom a head of the group. Small strike indicator is a must if you use one at all. Circle type hooks I like best. If there rising to anything blowing onto the water. Get the fly out there before they get to it and do not line them. Good luck.
  8. Wooooo whooooo !!!!!!! Fall run get here fast !!!!!!!
  9. How was the water level and color/clarity? Thanks for the report JJ

  12. Seahorses an special coffee slight breeze, midnight fireworks show. Priceless
  13. Clear water!!! I had forgotten what it looked like. Glad ya all had a good trip. Now get back to work. ..j/k
  14. Thanks, But I did have a time when I would get pissed. And tell some schmo off. Normally when like the OP stated it interfered with my families ability to fish unmolested by a spot grabber or something similar. So I can relate with his and others frustrations. I wish there were clear cut rules of etiquette like in bowling but there are not and the old ones were not really designed by people considering a mile or so of stream occupied buy possibly a couple thousand visitors daily. However as seldom as I have actually been able to get away over the last several seasons. I had to make the decision not to bother getting in a huff over something I had absolutely zero control over. My time is better spent enjoying the positives of the experience. Others mileage my very. JJ
  15. I don't fish expecting any personal space in the parks. I try and watch my back casts and over all try and not step on any toes. This can be difficult to say the least when there are so many toes everywhere. I also try to not get my nose out of joint anymore since there is no better way to ruin the experience for me. "Water off a ducks back."....."Don't worry. Be happy." Those are my themes and jingles. I will not let someone else effect my experience. I wasn't always this way and my days fishing could suffer for it. just my 2 cents JJ ps. My first sig line quote covers my new and improved attitude.
  16. Expect a full report with lota pics! Have a great time
  17. Sounds like a really good idea when serving those that are squirmy about eating food that resembles its self. (sister in law )
  18. Sup Dirty ! Welcome to OAF a neighbor of yours (CadillaCricket) should be by at any moment to say hello. M<ake sure you hook up with this fella for a trip down to river. Good fella that guy should help you out with the weening process. Might not be bass fishin but fishin nun the less tightlines JJ
  19. Sweet, Kinda went big game hunting and certainly surpassed the average. Wonder if with all this water the Dam at Taney might not have even more contenders up there in the fall this season? On the trout side of the page that is.
  20. Lights = bug swarms at night not to mention night blindness. we never used running light while fishing in coves on the bank. However if the outboard was on (underway) or another boat was approaching we used em.
  21. "Today, the CDC budgets less than $900,000 for firearm-related projects, and most of it is spent to track statistics. The agency no longer funds gun-related policy analysis." Sounds like $1 is to much to spend. I think they should spend nothing at all considering guns are not a disease. All though highly addictive tools. I have heard of BRD though. Black Rifle Disease usually sets in after you get to shoot several hi-cap mags through one of those evil black rifles Fought off a recent on set by getting one in not so black in a rare "COLTGUARD" finish. lol
  22. I had a great time !!! There was the defective wood. Some trouble getting flies down on the bottom. A case of irresponsible convertible top operation. That had to be overcome. But then there was all the good. Generally clear weather. Hilarius conversations and banter. A Pale Evening Dun hatch with Caddis mixed in laying eggs. A new rod tossing Caddis to a sweet little hatch. Discovering that Dennis(HDFhoosier) has also started making leaders that were a joy use thanks to his generosity. I have picture that I will get hosted and posted ASAP. With the genuinely great group that was fostered here at OAF. It was very pleasant. JJ
  23. "double tap" on that little quip of over inflated self perspective Exactly. Too bad four out of nine supposed experts can't get there heads out of there activist butts and interpret it exactly as the Bill of Rights puts it.
  24. Carefull what is said, seen, or heard by this man he has the memory of an elephant apparently!!! Hay Dovetail and anyone else!! Find away or the time to get on down to the park for this! It's a good time to be had by all. Nice group of members where around last time.
  25. Good job with the camera!!!! I have decided to do the same. Use my camera to out em publicly. And would suggest others do the same. JJ- With camera out finger on the button. "Smile poacher!" poacher- as camera snaps as he figures out what has happened. With himself for being a dumb *** or maybe me for not standing ideally by not that I am worried or scared. My little camera shoots video also.
