  1. What a great story!!! Reminds me when my son caught his first keeper. You both will remember this forever. Really enjoyed and now enjoy fishing with him (37 years old now) He is coming down next weekend to fish with me and I cannot wait. Congrats to you and your daughter z22
  2. The keeping of a few fish is one thing, but this seems all keeper bass went into the livewell and were filleted for supper.. I am a true believer you can hurt this resource if this type of behavior is continued, and then we will hear, Table Rock sure isn't like it use to be. This could be a long drawn out post, and I will stop at that, I am agree with Champ, not sorry for posting this, I live here and that resource is very valuable to me
  3. Picked up a couple of packages at Sportsman's Factory Outlet yesterday. Jim Lovan said they have just arrived. z22
  4. I do agree with rps on his points of spinning vs baitcaster. The spinning reel I am using as long as I close the bail by hand, and watch the line, and occasionally drag the line behind the boat to get out the twist I have no problems. I am sure there is a mental aspect to this, and according to my wife I am nuts anyway. One thing I must do if I want to use this properly, is to maybe upgrade the spinning rod/reel I am using. As much as I piddle around that may take forever. Thanks everyone for you help & comments.
  5. I think I am coming to the conclusion that I am doomed to a spinning rod, but I have not given up on the bait caster. I am using the 2500C z22
  6. First of all I want to thank Dave and those great Ned jig heads, they are doing the job. Thanks! I think I have finally said uncle to the bait caster on the Ned for the time being and went to the spinning rod. Yesterday fished mostly between point 11 and 12. Water temp 51 to 54. Started the day with a short Walleye on the crawler, went to the Ned and caught at least 5 or 6. z22
  7. Great job, my first boat was also a Terry, I think a 75 just not sure (cant remember what happened yesterday). The casting platform is a great addition. See you out there. z22
  8. Could not agree more champ. I do not have a spinning Rod (coffee grinder), in my boat. I am trying a 2500C ambassador reel, on a light casting rod, 6lb test. I am throwing the bait fine, still working on this combo z22
  9. I fish alone about 90% of the time. Wife just can't fish anymore, so when she is on the boat we take rides. I do enjoy when our son comes down, and we fish together, really a great time. z22
  10. Quill I was there this morning and ask them about that the sale is in store only. z22
  11. I couldn't agree more than what Champ has said. I have been out with Pete and Bill B, both great guys and if you want, they are more than willing to teach you whatever you ask. Z22
  12. Happy birthday Bill....thanks for all your help. z22 DonH
  13. I am finishing up my changeover from any BPS reels to Lew's Was going to go with the Revo but for me I like the Lew's is the winner, not going to get rid of any Revo's just the new reels will be Lew's. The few BPS reels that I had just cannot last if you fish a lot. z22
  14. Thanks for all your work in getting this out to all of us. Very much appreciated. z22
  15. Thanks Quill glad you got'em. z22
  16. Thank you for the work to show us the correct way to fish the ned rig. z22
  17. Hey Quill, I am in the same boat you are.....too cool for me. Plus I am doing my annual reel work over. z22
  18. Thanks Quill. I am looking forward to posting what is going on in the areas I fish. z22
  19. I must say I am a "lurker" troll maybe a little harsh, but as the new year starts I agree with Champ. I fish most days, not now but when I do, I will start posting what has been going on in my area of the pond. As mentioned above, I do fish a lot and should be giving some idea of what I am doing to catch a few in my area of the lake as compared to the other reports. Happy New Year to all! z22
  20. Wow those colors are pretty close to the Hughes baits that I got from Tim,,,those production paint jobs are getting pretty close to the real thing. z22
  21. I had the same problem it is the puck transducer either loose or going out. After replacement it was fine. z22
  22. As you can tell by my number of posts all I normally do is read, but this subject is a big reality for us who fish most every day. Not only do I see what all of you have posted, but my cove is no wake, of which is very seldom observed. when I ask them to slow down, well you would think I am asking them for all their equipment. z22
  23. I also am within blocks of the ramp. When they call it the "off" season, we fishermen are just getting going for the fall. I have met Mr. Babler there, a time or two and I am sure this is their "off" season. That is cutting into what the guides could be doing also, just not right. Now that there is a gate the bad guys have a challenge, they can still get in to steal, while leaving the users with limited choices of where to launch. z22 PS Hughesy good to hear from you I am the guy, we met the day after thanksgiving...all is good.
  24. You cannot beat the Lew's I have bought a Duckett Ghost, for warts and I am very happy with it. z22
  25. Before we found the home we are now living, it took a good 2 years (not full time was still working), to find something we liked. It is not as easy as I thought it would be, as far as how close to the grocery store, hardware etc. You see something on a website, go to the house, and you cannot believe your eyes not even close to the picture! It is though your decision and I suggest you get what you want. One thing after we bought this house my friends wanted to know how many bedrooms we had, my reply was 2. They said how come? Told them could not find a house we liked with one, ( not motel 6) z22
