  1. not my ad, but thought of Champ when I saw it. For those of you on Facebook, it's a good site for buying and selling, as is Kimberling City Online

  4. “ stupid heads”? Gosh, wonder what he would say if he disrespectfully disagreed? 😋 Seriously, in my opinion, Champ is spot with line size choices. I think you can go with a good 8 pound small diameter if you’re swimming a grub. With some of the stained water we have right now, you could probably use your anchor rope
  5. Never heard the "3 mile theory"? Look at a map and tell me it's the same distance between Pt 7 and Pt 8 as it is between Pt 8 and Pt 9? Between 6 and 7 is a straight shot and no way is it 3 miles! From Pt 15 to Pt 16 is a long run, for sure! Way more than 3 miles. http://ontheworldmap.com/usa/lake/table-rock-lake/large-detailed-tourist-map-of-table-rock-lake.html
  6. Heard the Corps was predicting 920 by the weekend. More rain coming.
  7. Went out about 3:30 today and fished til 5:15 PM Caught 2 fat K’s on the Ned , that was it. Both were in about 6 feet of water on main lake chunk rock.
  8. Yeah, I need to do that. will get some tomorrow. Thanks!
  9. For a slight additional fee, I will show you exactly where my rock piles and sunken brush is hidden.
  10. selling one of my slips. either a 10 X 24 or 10 X 28 other than the Buy, Sell, Trade on this site, any other places I should post ? Thanks!
  11. slip has large upright locker and electric outlet. It is the first slip on the right as you enter from shore. Slip includes an owner’s share of large parking lot which is only 30 yards from dock. Large swim deck and a beautiful view of the bridge. By land, it is about 10 minutes from Highway 13 and Joe Bald Road. PM for details

  13. Nothing is as hard as golf!
  14. As I have mentioned before, there's a little trick that I use that helps. Before putting it on the head, take the blunt end of the bait and squeeze it between your thumb and forefinger. This will create a little 'bulge' on the end, which I cut off with scissors or knife. Now you have a concave center. thread your bait on hook, and before snugging it up to the head, put your drop of glue in that little 'pocket'. The head seats right down in the pocket, which really keeps it on well, and doesn't get glue all over the rest of the rig. Because the head is now nestled down in the elastech a bit, you get a slight little tiny bounce when you drag it, or hit a rock. I have observed this in clear water, and it does make a difference.
  15. Wrong! I just caught a unicorn last week on a banjo minnow using my Popeil's pocket fisherman.
  16. Went out at 9:30, off the water at 1. at 10:30, the wind really picked up and made it tough to fish anything main lake second cast of the day was my only fish. He hit a white spoon right next to bridge pier.
  17. The funny thing is, I caught him in the back of a cove in calm water out of the wind. He was sitting on a single stickup in about 6 foot Not really much of a pattern to look for? I think I’m gonna throw the jig and the Ned today.
  18. Bluebird day after cold front is never a good combination for me. One good bite all day, about a 3 pound largemouth on a WW. Had one good slam on the football jig, but couldn’t snag him Found plenty of fish on the graph, but couldn’t get them to bite. Saw a few shad floating. Water temps were anywhere from 45.6 to 48 in the Kimberling City area Had an interesting start to the day. Dropped boat down anD Opened the lid to pump the bulb and there was water coming in the drain hole? Apparently, the plug had vibrated itself out and was hanging on by the retainer. It’s not easy to screw that plug back in hanging over the rear deck when the boats on the lift! Hooked my foot on the seat pole and thank God I didn’t get a cramp or have to sneeze. 😀
  19. Just had this reel given to me nice reel, super fast retrieve! Have never used one with this high of the gear ratio. I really don’t do much flipping. other than buzz baits, what other Baits and presentations can I throw with this reel? I was thinking A-rig, but I have a reel that I like for using that
  20. Going to give it a try this weekend. Will start off with jerk bait, A/rig and WW. Maybe a spoon or a grub deep as a back up? Steep banks and bluff ends will be the target. Wish me luck!
  21. Fished a couple of hours Thursday and then again on Saturday in the KC area. White spoon was getting bit in 40' in creek channels. caught several keepers, but nothing over 2.5. I really like the trick of running line through a feathered treble above the spoon. Also picked up a few nice smallies draggin a FB jig on mixed gravel flats in 25-30'.
  22. Knew Bill for 40 years. Tragic loss! Most of what I know about fishing this lake, I learned from Bill. Would give anything just to hear him say "c'mon fish" one more time
  23. "old guard"? Well, you got the "old" part right! Just had hip replacement last Winter, and getting both knees replaced in November. Fortunately, both of my wrists are still good enough for my favorite activity. (I mean fishing, of course)
  24. Saturday morning near KC. Got a limit of 3-4 lb LM in about 30 minutes in one 100 yard stretch of bank with docks. Pea Gravel with chunk rock between docks in 8-15'. With the cooler temps and overcast sky, they were positioned next to docks, but not under them. Had to use the pliers to get the jig out on a couple of them, as they were gulping it down. 1/2 oz FB jig in PB & J with Green Pumpkin speed craw trailer. Went to another spot nearby with same characteristics, and caught a few more. Every LM was a keeper or better, with some short SM mixed in.
  25. The best way to get a redfin to run right is to tie on a Whopper Plopper!
