  1. I have been fishing for white bass in the fall for many years at the 245 bridge area unless the water is too high. There is a gravel parking lot and a trail leading down to the water. Sliders, swimming minnows. and 1/8 oz rooster tails are the most productive lures for me. You will need a medium action spinning rod and real. The action usually starts late September early October and will continue until killing frost. CC area and High Point are back up locations. If you go to High Point you might try turning left at the T by the old church and walking down to the points (the road gets a little rough) Welcome to the Ozarks and Good Fishing to you.
  2. Friend of mine told me he was fishing at High Point t a few days ago and couldn't keep the whites off his lure. I went today and only caught 5 at High Point and decided to stop at the 245 bridge on the way home, I'm a bank fisherman. Limited out and had my line broke on two consecutive casts. Picture of lure I was using top right.
  3. White bass are my favorite to catch also. I usually don't start trying until late Sept. it is usually good from then until the 1st hard frost. Keep us posted on how they are biting. Thanks
  4. Went fishing this morning started about 7am just as it was light enough to see what you were doing, was back in my truck at 8:53 with a limit of some very good size white bass. Had my line broke 4 times that has never happened to me before guess my son was right about that rotten line, I'll have to get some new spooled on before I go next time. I almost always use 6lb test. Good fishing to all reddog
  5. I spooled that line for you 3 years ago!
  6. Went fishing this morning, my son and a friend of his went yesterday his friend caught one my son said he had his line broke 3 times sounds like a fish story to me, got to the 245 bridge (Icall it the Bona Bridge) about 10am at 11:30 only had one white bass then I stood in the same place and caught 14 more limiting out in about the next 45 min. The last one I caught was the biggest that made it difficult to stop. Good fishing to all Reddog
  7. I call where 245 crosses the lake about a mile north of Bona the Bona Bridge there is a gravel parking lot on the west side shortly after crossing the bridge. Just walk down to the water and head towards the point.
  8. The first photo shows where 245 crosses the lake the second is a closer view showing the parking lot just past the bridge. Started fishing about 9:30am had my limit by 11:30am this morning. It started a little slow but as whites are known for it quickly became fast and furious. Had two of the larger whites I have caught all year on this stringer.
  9. Went bank fishing at the Bona bridge area (that's where 245 crosses the lake just north of Bona) got there about noon left about three, caught 10 keeper size whites plus several smaller ones. There is a parking lot there makes it easy for bank fishing that how I fish most of the time. The whites will be there until there is a hard frost, then they are gone until next fall.
