  1. haha yeah i make sure to keep mine up tight since my shorthairs like to play with them O_o
  2. i dont think they make a fly that i want.for some reason i have this vision of fishing these little streams with a small hackle fly, blue tail, wings and a olive drab body. i dont know why but i want to fish it. i cant find the 100 packs in the right size, i can find 16-18 all day long but i really want a like 12-16
  3. Does anyone out here have a blue dun saddle? I leave for TN in about a month and a half and I want to tie some BWOs. I just need 2 or 3 feathers so i can tie a couple 4-5 flies that i feel the need to have and fish in the smokies. I dont want a whole saddle nor can i find one. thanks in advance
  4. i will second yeehaw's post, RWS makes a fantastic rifle
  5. I had two indgo racers darn near land in my lap one year on the meremec. i was fishing along side a big bluff, i guess they were fighting or mating, and then went right over the edge. the tail ends bumped my kayak sides but they landed mostly in the water. it was pretty exciting to say the least
  6. I think a 6' or even 5'-6" 0-2wt would be awesome.
  7. i know some spots where carp are near with berries dropping, but its too secret.
  8. I have been having good luck with them in the creeks by my house. i had a monster green sunfish completely attack the crap out of my fly. i used some wrapped foam to make a segmented body and some ideas i had gotten from some hopper poppers. I'll have to post a picture of it.
  9. dont bother with a 4.3 v6 from GM. yes, its agteat motor, all of my s10/sonoma's have had them however, my new fullsize 1/2 ton GMC with the 5.3 v8 gets better mileage then the sonoma could have ever wished with. this is also accounting for the same 3.73 rear end. I get about 19/20 empty on the highway with the truck and with a 19' bayliner behind me and the a/c on it only drops down to about 14/15 runnning 65 in it. you can find the older 1/2 chevys for a decent price now-a-days. the other thing to remember is even though your little diesel VW pulls the boat fine, backing it up is going to be a pain in the butt since the wheelbase is so short. if you can, find a older Dodge cummins truck with 150K on for cheap and just use that. You'll be able to pull whatever you want and still get good mileage. our 06 cummins gets 30 on the highway empty.
  10. this place is on my list of spots to hit this year. Hopefully it stays that way.
  11. oh yeah man, carp are where its at!! Just wait tl you get one on a fly rod.
  12. Just throwing this out there, how would you feel about an older Hoyt bow+cash for the mini?
  13. I also throughly enjoyed it. Definitly looking forward to next year
  14. I got my tickets last week. Should be a good show.
  15. I fished it early last year and didnt have much luck. But, I need to make a couple more casts before i get to the nomimal 1000 cast mark to get one to look at your lure. I was trying to convince them on a fly rod, with some big butt streamer patterns i tied, they move awesome in the water, i'd like to eat a muskie would eat one, if not atleast i'll catch some big bass. i think once the water gets into the 57-70 degree range im going to work on getting out there some more
  16. P-Line in Moss green. love the stuff.
  17. Sides of the back feather display. They are usually only about a foot long.
  18. Good friend of mine has this and the image quality is laughable. its not a very good camera at all. he's not really that pleased with it and i was far from impressed.
  19. yup. the pentax cameras really are they way to go for underwater pictures and video. plus it shoots 720p HD video which is good enough. They are about the same price as a goPro but you get a better picture camera.
  20. I'll try the alcohol thing, I have heard of it before but never done it. if nothing else, I'll send em to that recycled waders place, thats a pretty cool thing.
  21. So I have some old waders, some Hodgemen breathables. They are good, minus a tiny leak happening somewhere on the top of the knee seam. I cant find it, so I replaced them with some Simms. Anyway, what do I do with these now? Is there anything uesful or good I could do with them? Does anyone want them for a truck pair? For some reason I feel bad about pitching them.
  22. I'll stand up for taurus. i have a PT1911 and its a fantastic gun. Seen several hundreds of rounds thru it and it hasnt hickuped at all.

    Eagles

they were like that at meremec spring a couple years ago when they had a bunch of fish die. they piled em in the fields and the eagles were EVERYWHERE.
  24. If you Dish Network with the HD package, there is a channel you get, 394, World Fishing Network. Tuesday night is Fly fishing Tuesday. Its several hours of only fly fishing shows.
