Just felt like one long trip...
-
Sold. Thanks John.
-
Nah, sorry Chris. Don't own a 2wt and I just put some GPX DT3 on the 3wt you sold me. What else ya got? I've been looking for a nice net...? No reason, just cleaning out the closet. Don't use it much and it's getting cluttered in there.
-
Almost like new condition, only used several times. There are a few hook marks in the foam on the fold out pocket, but shows very little use. Also two pinholes on the side of pack from a zinger...hardly noticeable. Make a reasonable offer. I'll also consider trades for anything flyfishing that I might need, including tying materials, so don't hesitate to ask.

I fished Baptist up to Tan Vat yesterday in the downpour from dawn to about 3 PM. Caught a few fish, nothing special. Good luck.

I don't know where you're getting your information, but the Eastern Red Cedar IS native to Missouri. In fact (per Wiki), Missouri produced the oldest reported Eastern Red Cedar, at 795 years old. Native range shown in green...

Say what? Nice fish Buzz!

Just so y'all know, that white spot on the gill plate is not specific to Table Rock...I notice it on all smallmouth that are more than, say, 12 or 13 inches, and I've seen it on smaller ones as well. I don't know what it is, but apparently it's something they develop as they mature. Fish from the Meramec system... From the Gasconade system... From the Current River system...

Just taking a quick look at what's available right now, this would be my recommendation... Well within your budget, decent weight for backpacking, freestanding, fine size for just you or you and your girl, quality tent. Can't go wrong with this one at that price. It's a lot like my Sierra Designs that I paid more than $300 for many moons ago. $150 at Campmor, $165 at REI http://www.campmor.c...226&pageSize=24

Stay away from Eureka and Coleman if you want a tent that will last. Look for a sale on Sierra Designs, Mountain Hardwear, or Black Diamond. North Face, Kelty, and even REI make some decent tents, too, for bargain prices. If you'll be backpacking with your tent, quality is more critical, because better tents are lighter and designed to give you more efficient use of cubic footage from every ounce you carry.

Stream smallmouth fishing is tough during fall...always has been for me anyway. The fish are transitioning, and the water is usually clear and low, so they're spooky, too. It's hard enough to find the fish, let alone pattern them.
-
That was my point, essentially.

Pick an adjective and go with it. You said it wasn't relevant, so I explained its relevance. What, you're upset with the "try to keep up" remark? I was just tossing back some playful banter in response to your telling me I'm "full of it," as you so diplomatically put it. And before the next time you go firing off judgments about me, you should learn the difference between conviction and conceit. By the way, I find the label of "conceited" especially ironic and amusing coming from the guy who tells people where they can or can't fish when the water gets warm according to YOUR temperature requirements, or how long they're allowed to fish a particular hole so they won't be in YOUR way, or whether or not they're allowed to throw rocks in a river and snag suckers since it might interfere with YOUR day...shall I go on? So sensitive around here....
-
Since you guys seem to have touble with a slightly cryptic remark, I'll make it easier to understand... You can get away with anything in this country if you're rich and well-connected, but if you're an average Joe, you can't have a doobie without facing a firing squad. It's totally relevant, and it's got everything to do with everything. Compare the damage Goldman Sachs and BP has caused in the last couple years, and the number of lives adversely affected, to that of Camp Zoe...now compare the consequences. Something seems a tad askew, no? What's the variable? Money. It's big picture kinda stuff...try to keep up.
-
Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs and BP continue to report record profits...wake up, man.

I'd say that's about the best and most likely correct speculation we've seen thus far.

What Are You Tying For C&r This Year?

THAT I would participate in. The Bourbeuse would be another good option...it's close to St. Louis, it needs its spots removed badly, and it's a more difficult river to float without your own shuttle, so it would be an opportunity to do sections of the river some of us don't often (or ever) get to fish. I probably wouldn't be all that interested in that until spring, though. EDIT: Oops, I shoulda read farther before posting...looks like I just repeated what y'all already said.

Thanks for setting it up, Chris. Tell Will I love the rod and thanks for the great deal.

Allow me to make two conflicting points... I'll believe the government is concerned about my health when they outlaw cigarettes. More people are addicted to cigarettes in this country than all other drugs combined, and more people die each year from cigarette-related illnesses than all other drugs combined. And while we're at it, outlaw high-fructose corn syrup, too, because more Americans die from being FAT each year than ANY other cause. On the other hand, people aren't shooting each other over cigarettes or Skittles, because they are legal and easily and (relatively) cheaply obtained. So they need to choose one or the other...either legalize every poison that a person might want to consume and leave it up to the individual to stay away from it or not, or make ALL drugs illegal, including nicotine, alcohol and prescription narcotics. To say that legal drugs don't ruin as many lives as illegal drugs is a farce. Anyway, that doesn't have anything to do with Zoe except it fits into the overall theme of hypocrisy in the American justice system and our ignorant society in general. At this point, drugs are still illegal and this guy's life might well be ruined because he held some concerts and turned a blind eye on humans being humans.
-
You're partially right...most of it happens in the parking lot before the concert, since the huge venues can afford metal detectors and security thugs to pat everyone down before they enter. But the cause is the same - people are going to a concert to enjoy themselves...and the result is the same - some people like to get high at concerts, and where there's demand, there's supply. So the drug use and drug transactions are going to happen no matter where the concert is held, and the venue is incidental. It's just a matter of who's gonna get picked on and who's not. Something solid to back up my claim? If you mean footage from my hidden belt-buckle camera, then no...just my personal experience with a large number of concerts at an array of venues. Trust me, it happens everywhere and I've seen it first-hand many times, but apparently if you're a rich enough corporation, you get a pass while the little guy goes to the gas chamber. "Steal a little and they throw you in jail, steal a lot and they make you king." Bob Dylan
